Ch. 99: To the Horizon

Did I……do something?

……..yeah, I must have looking their reactions…..

Eri: “You should have saw him! Sir Luke’s sword fighting was so dazzling!”

Sia: “Uーk ran and did slash and slash like thatー”

…….Really? I don’t remember.

I was focused on getting out of there alive, I don’t remember much of what happened.

I just remember throwing rocks and cutting down enemies who avoided my Spells, and then repeated the process again.

Well, yeah.

I was trying my best, yes.

“GーGovernor…..what are you really?” “You said you were born and raised in a Noble’s family, correct?” “Was it a family of famous Knights?”

Luke: “No……just a Noble’s family.”

And though I can say I was born and raised there, I pretty much lived as a servant.

But even in that situation, I was able to learn sword fighting because Endin didn’t attend his lessons.

I didn’t mind. The sword instructor also didn’t want to waste his day doing nothing and begrudgingly taught me too.

“Sir Governor, what is your Status like? You do not seem tired at all.”

Luke: “Uh……ummmm……well, what about you? What is your Status like?” Was the Adventurer I’m speaking to an Iron rank?

From the bottom, it was Copper → Brass → Iron → Silver → Gold → Platinum → Adamantine

Adamantine is like diamond, basically.

Copper just means newbie. When you reach Brass rank, you’re finally treated as a true Adventurer.

“Me? My strength is about 78, Stamina 65. The rest is well…pretty average.”

Luke: “I don’t know what average would be. Mine isーー”

And I call up my Status in my head.

Lou Quain Tristan

Human 15 years old Male

Strength: 169 Stamina: 127 Agility: 82

Dexterity: 71 Magic Power: 42

[Talent]

Alchemy BOX 40

Enchant 13

Before, I would check my status after eating one of the dried Status Fruits, but that’s become cumbersome, so I haven’t checked since getting back to the island.

When I checked occasionally, I only checked the Magic Power to see if it went up, but since acquiring the enchanted rocks, I didn’t need to rely on Spells anymore, so I stopped checking.

Yeah……….isn’t this….a little too much? I think a Gold rank is around 200.

“What’s wrong, Sir Governor?” Luke: “Ohhhh…….yeah, mーmy Strength and Stamina are a little over 100. Wow, I guess all that physical labor making the wood and stone supplies with Alchemy and carrying around must have made it go up.”

It’s not a complete lie. I’m sure some of my Stamina went up from it.

Luke: “And I had been taught sword skills since I was a kid.”

That’s not a lie either. I started those lessons from the age of 5. Though….it was one hour once a week.

“Your Strength and Stamina?!”

“Having 2 over 100 is pretty amazing.”

“Yeah, I thought Silver ranks have maybe one Status that’s over a 100, right?” Wait, really?!

“The Governor’s Status is comparable to a Gold ranker then. Now I understand why he’s so strong.”

“Plus he has those enchanted stones.”

“ “Right?! No wonder he’s strongーー ” ”

Luke: “HーHaha…..ha, haha. Hahaha.”

MーMaybe I should stop eating so much Status Fruits?” <<<<>>>>

On the surface, there were no issues.

Just in case, I had a group of 20 check the floors between the former Boss floor and the surface.

Luke: “I didn’t realize the sun had already gone down.”

Eri: “It is pitch black outside.” Sia: “No stars or moonー Cloudy nightー”

Luke: “It must have rained too. The ground is all muddy. Princess, please be careful. It’s very slick.”

Though the rain had stopped, looking up, we could not see the moon or stars.

There must be quite a thick cloud covering the sky.

I looked around to see if I could catch the edge of the clouds whenー

Luke: “Hm? What’s that light over there? Is that the light from one of the port towns on the mainland?” In the direction of the coast, I saw lights begin to appear.

Eri: “That direction is south, so the complete opposite direction from Port Aurier.”

Luke: “Oh, you’re right. Then that’s….”

What is that light?

[It is a ship, Lou Quain. A ship is approaching.]

Luke: “Gonzo?!”

He scared me. I couldn’t hear any sound even as he flapped his wings and just appeared out of nowhere.

But a ship……huh.

If it’s a ship, isn’t that too many ships?

[Hahaha, what a fool to attack this island.]

Luke: “Wait, we’re not certain that they’re attacking us, so don’t start attacking the ships.”

[Then you should tell Kumi as well.]

That’s right…….we need to hurry to the shores.
