The Sacred Altar was in the middle of a large body of water, and there was only one path of land leading to it.

Once he arrived within range of where Aria could open the Legacy Tome, he would immediately make his move and destroy it.

He was confident that he could make it work with only Aria and him. Adding more to their raiding party wouldn’t necessarily increase the chances of their mission succeeding.
