"Get a grip," said Vroto.
Evie looked up at him, as he smashed the ice once more.
"Don't touch anything," he said.
Evie, while barely able to feel heat, was visibly sweating.
Her ever-so-cold skin had droplets running along it.
The weather was on the colder side too, a cold breeze always present in the village.
Her eyes were jumping around to any and every sound.
She stood up, unnaturally holding her arm up, making sure she touched nothing. Sure enough, no ice built up, confirming what Vroto thought.
"Just stay behind me. We'll buy time until the rest of our troops arrive."
Evie heavily nodded, taking a few steps backward and staying behind Vroto.
Her other hand, which was torn in half, had been frozen solid, she probably hoped to keep it intact until a healer arrives, he thought.
Mori and Griswald were walking down the steps leading to the road.
"Not so smug, anymore? You know, Luxian managed to get four of my limbs?"
Evie took another step behind the knight.
"Where is he?" asked Vroto.
"You better ask Reaper. Oh. Right."
Vroto frowned.
"You're quite arrogant, Mori. You're acting the same way she did moments ago, you both aren't so different."
"Oh but we are, because she'll be dead in a moment, and I won't."
Griswald rolled his eyes. "Humans, am I right?"
Vroto ignored him, his eyes remaining on Mori.
At the end of a chain Mori was holding was the battleaxe. Griswald had traded it with Mori before returning on his 360 spin.
Mori did a 360 himself, going the opposite way, Vroto got his armguards ready to absorb the shock again however on the opposite side Griswald took the battleaxe before it touched Vroto, spinning it the opposite side again.
Vroto turned around, however Griswald had faked out, only doing a 180 to come back the same direction he left.
The weapon hit Vroto's side, making a huge dent in his armor, while Mori took back the battleaxe as it hit him.
Mori and Griswald kept trading the weapon between them, describing wide arcs as they flailed it around.
Vroto did his best to keep up, however his position was horrible. He was dead-center between both of them, and their relentless attacks made it impossible for him to cover all angles.
The repeated feints and fake-outs, and them trading his weapon added fuel to the fire.
As he finally got used to their horizontal movements, they both had started adding vertical sweeps, and as he turned around they would use their chains and whips to attack in the small delay they had before picking the weapon right back up.
As Griswald picked up the battleaxe, Vroto stomped. The ground heavily shook, unbalancing the both of them.
Vroto quickly ran toward Mori, who was the most open. Griswald wouldn't reach him with the battleaxe for a good second, giving him enough time to turn the 2v1 into a 1v1.
As Vroto would've reached Mori, in a split second his eyes went right, as he heard a whistling sound, stopping his movement and dodging backward.
Evie had tried to send an icicle forward, however, the ground shaking threw her aim off, her projectile was heading straight for Vroto had he not dodged it.
"What the fuck are you doing?! Stay back! Do fucking nothing!" yelled Vroto.
Evie's whole body was shaking, as she took a few steps backward.
She looked at her own hands, disbelief on her face.
Griswald who was going to be late on his attack on Vroto, sent the weapon flying toward Evie.
"No you don't!" yelled Vroto, sprinting at an unimaginable speed to catch up to it.
In his peripheral vision, He saw Mori's chain extend further than it had before, taking the weapon's handle before his eyes and pulling on it.
Mori had another clean hit on the same side they hit before in one clean sweep, sending Vroto meters further to the ground.
Evie didn't go toward him, nor did she attack to buy time.
She was walking backward, scared.
