The receptionist and Myriad Arrows were equally confused as to what happened.
Myriad Arrows just looked blankly at Jake, waiting for him to reveal an answer.
But Jake waited. He turned around to leave, beckoning Myriad Arrows to come after him.
Once they were outside the colosseum, Myriad Arrows went ahead and asked Jake the question.
"You are going to go ahead and make me ask? What the hell was that? What the hell happened over there?" he asked.
"Didn't you see? I haggled with that man so that I could get at least some of my money back. Look! We got quite the profit!" Jake smiled.
"What is the investment? All the big games, iron tokens, I didn't understand any of that." Myriad Arrows said.
"Oh, that? Well, once I upgrade to the Iron Token, I can finally start playing in the first three arenas. But those matches are on another level, and so, the colosseum earns much more from those matches. And the betting on those matches gets to another level." Jake said.
"Wait, so you are basically promising to rig matches in the Colosseum's favor?"
"If I get enough money, and I'll keep upgrading my level anyways, what is wrong with that? The Colosseum will also earn a lot of money from me, and this is just a good investment." Jake smiled.
"So then what are you going to do? You have a lot of money in your hands now. Six thousand five hundred gold coins! If anyone else had that kind of money, they would be so happy! You might be one of the richest people in the entire game!" Myriad Arrows said.
"Soon enough, I will be. But as corporations keep bringing in their own reserves, it will be hard for me to keep up. Well, since I started the guild, it is only right for me to have a proper guild base, is it not?" Jake smiled.
"So you are going to get another building in Diffast?" Myriad Arrows asked.
"Don't be so stupid. What do we even have in Diffast? The city is only popular because of an Epic class that has already been acquired. Soon enough, once people figure out that it isn't there anymore, they will leave, and the city will become deserted. Loviel is a good starting place, but Diffast isn't a great city to be in." Jake shook his head.
"Then where do you want to go? The Capital city of Loviel? I hear that the guild competition there is intense. There are so many big corporations setting up there." Myriad Arrows said.
"The three empires will have multiple top guilds, and it will be hard to compete with them. I am not going to be so foolish as to do that. Better grow first and then touch those deep foundations. I am still weak compared to the thousands of people that each corporation has from the very beginning." Jake said, shaking his head.
? "Then outside Loviel? You worked so hard to put up that shop, I assume. What will happen if you leave? Getting a foundation in Diffast could be so helpful. You can even try and make the entire city your own. But leaving now, you are just leaving that place!" Myriad Arrows exclaimed.
"Let me explain something. Did you know how much I got that place for? Dirt cheap. Real estate is not that expensive in Diffast because there aren't a lot of people there. Sure, in the future, with more and more working around, changing cities, they could come here. But the main core will leave, and the store will only earn passively. Only for the next few months, can it actually earn enough to make maintaining this store worth it." Jake said.
"Which kingdom are you looking at then? Where do you want to go?" Myriad Arrows asked.
"Plans change. And we can't move to the kingdom that I have in mind just yet. The world has to start exploring so that we can find the right kingdom. There is much of Gaia that is yet to be discovered." Jake shook his head and said.
"Well then, what next? Let us go to the silversword fields and check on the new recruits? I should assume that some of them have leveled up significantly by now." Myriad Arrows asked.
"No. I'll just leave them a guild message telling them that I expect them to be at least at level fifteen by the time I arrive," Jake said.
"Increasing five levels in one day? Not everyone has the same resource as you do. This place is a godsend, but I grinded in the silversword fields for a long time. Five levels will take a day and a half at least." Myriad Arrows shook his head.
"And that is why I am giving them two days. For two days, we will be grinding here, trying to enter the top ranks. After this, the goal is to get our guild on the leaderboards. And for that, we need you, our star." Jake smiled.
"What star? It is clear that you are stronger than me. Six wins? And when you were of a lower level than me?" Myriad Arrows scoffed.
"But I am not an Epic Class. You are. In this place, you face the disadvantage of being a long range class. The fact that you are winning at all is an accomplishment you should be proud of." Jake smiled.
"So then, how do we re enter the colosseum? Using our tokens?" Myriad Arrows asked.
"Why do you think there was such a huge line back when we first registered? It also assigns us to our arena once more. Keep your token. It is going to be important, and as long as it is in your inventory, you can't drop it even if you die." Jake warned as they walked back to the desk to register themselves.
