The first thing that Jake did when he exchanged the beaks for silver coins was give the money he promised by transferring ten silvers to everyone in the guild, except for Kierch.
After he fulfilled his promise, every single guild member was truly satisfied now, knowing that they were actually getting paid.
What guild would pay their guild members a bonus on their very first day? It was just unheard of!
But this only felt fair. They came together and did all of this on their own. They were the ones who grinded, and thus they were the ones who reaped the benefits.
All over the world, forums were filled with comparisons, and every single player was now jealous of this guild. They had a better quality of players, and the guild master was also willing to share his wealth with the guild members? Where could a better deal be found?
And now, with every one of his guild members in a slightly better state than before, Jake went about reviewing the footage, trying to identify the right guild leader for each group.
He needed to find thirty three outstanding players. Thee guild elders, and thirty group captains. Each one of them had to be better than the rest.
In this grinding session, all of the auxiliary classes, like the blacksmiths and the enchanters were not here, as they were in the forges and the workshops that Jake had prepared for them.
"Hmm, this guy looks good." Jake noted down as he played the footage back at normal speed. To review a whole day, it was obvious that he was going to lapse it multiple times its original speed.
At his side was a notepad with twenty other names already scrawled on it.
He was already satisfied with the quality of the members that he got. He could see many good seeds, and if they grew properly, they would be the pillars upon which the guild would rest.
After another hour, all of the captains and elders were announced, and he was now ready to bring together the guild once more.
But he stopped. It was a long day for him, fighting in the colosseum for a full two days straight, as well as taking care of the guild work. The guild members would definitely not be any different.
They also grinded, and they were not used to staying in the game as much as Jake was. It was physically and mentally draining for newtimers. Sure, Jake's current body was not the same as his previous life, but his mind was fortified with memories.
He knew that he had to stay in the game longer to survive, and he already had the experiences of grinding a whole week just so that he could stay in the guild.
But the others needed time to adjust to this.
He sent a message to the entire guild.
[It is time to rest. Everyone should take this time and sleep. Log in after eight hours and we shall gather in this location.] Jake also sent them a location in the outskirts of Diffast.
All the guild members immediately opened this message. They could not afford to miss a single message from the guild that was promising their livelihood.
And seeing that they had to log out, they were confused.
Everywhere, people were pushing to extract just a little more play time from their members. Why was the guild telling them to sleep?
But as exhausted as they were, this message was a god send. Jake saw the names on his monitor slowly gray out one by one, as the players started logging out.
Rubbing his hands, he looked at Myriad Arrows, who was next to him, calmly sitting on a chair, to the side.
They were on the third floor of the store, which became the de facto office of Jake and the guild right now.
"You want me to log out as well? I think that I can go on a little further." Myriad Arrows asked.
"No. You need the rest as well. The last few days, I have seen you active for all of them. You were grinding elsewhere, if I am not wrong. Just take the rest when you can. Tomorrow, we will finally start working together as a guild." Jake said.
"Really? What are we going to do?" Myriad Arrows' eyes sparkled with curiosity.
"You are the same as every other guild member. You will find out tomorrow." Jake shook his head and said.
"So unfair. To think that the guild co-leader is also kept in the dark." Myriad Arrows smiled as he jokingly said.
"Don't act like a child. You know that you are privy to more things than everything else." Jake sighed and said.
"But this is so interesting. Could it be? Something on the level of the colosseum? Is there another part of the game that you know about that no one else knows about?"
"Just log out and rest. I will follow soon enough." Jake said.
"Fine." Myriad Arrows rolled his eyes as he moved his right hand in front of his body, logging out of the game. His body froze, and then disappeared from the floor, leaving Jake all alone.
He looked at his chats and scrolled down.
[We need you tomorrow. I am going to have you debut for the guild now.] He typed out.
[Already? Are you sure you want to act so soon?]
[The guild is ready, and it is better for us to stand out. It will be a good experience for the members as well, and the loot and experience is always higher if we are under leveled.] Jake typed.
[Whatever you say. A contract is a contract. When and where do you want me to be?]
Jake sent a location and the time.
[I'll be there then. Better rest for the big day.] the opposing party responded quickly, and the chat grayed as that person logged out.
p Jake smiled and looked at another chat.
[Is everything ready?] he typed out.
A few moments of silence later, someone entered the chat.
[Yes, boss. Everything you asked for. It took quite a while.]
[Good. You also deserve some rest. Tell everyone that they can pack up for the night. Until tomorrow.] Jake replied as he closed every window and looked up at the ceiling, slouching back on his chair.
"Took almost a week of preparation. This better be worth it." Jake sighed and he also looked at the bottom icons, searching for the button to log out.
His eyes were closing even in the game. The last few days were tiring for the person who was reviewing every single player, and also trying to manage an entire guild for the first time in his life.
His right hand trembled as he clicked on the button, and a quick notification appeared before him.
[Logging Out. Updating.]
"Wait, what? Updating? Why is the game updating? This isn't supposed to happen."
