The moment that the goblin was nearing the end of its first HP bar, everyone got ready.
Having one fight before helped them a lot. They didn't need to go through this a second to know that there would be a special form for the goblin chieftain.
And because this second form wouldn't even use a staff with the mana crystal inside, it would be just as powerful as in the first raid.
And unlike in the first raid, they had none of the three pillars that the guild rested on. The main damage dealer, Jake, was not here. Myriad Arrows was here, but no one knew it, and Myriad Arrows wanted to keep it that way.
And as for Kierch, no one except for Jake seemed to know who the hell he was and when he would come into the guild.
The first HP bar was in the red zone, and quietly slid to zero.
Immediately, everyone put some distance between themselves and the goblin chieftain, who clutched its face and started morphing.
After a few seconds, it transformed into an Oni, glaring at the people in front of it.
"A-attack! Use all of your special attacks! This is the time to do that!" the guild elder who took charge shouted.
pa(nd)a novel Everyone's weapons shone. The entire room was lit up in colors as different types of attacks, each one of a different specialty, went striking towards the Oni.
But the Oni wasn't held back like last time. All these attacks chipped away its smaller health bar, but it was still a strong beast, and there wasn't a big damage dealer here.
It moved swiftly, appearing in front of the nearest player. It swept its hand forward, and in a single attack, the player, and the ones next to him, all crashed into one of the walls of the circular room.
With a single attack, the Oni took out ninety percent of their health. They were lucky that they didn't die, or they would lose so many benefits that came with completing the raid.
"The Oni's attacks are so strong!" Myriad Arrows was shocked. None of them faced one of these attacks because all of the big hits in the raid were taken by Jake. He seemed to have this insane defensive skill that negated all damage. Whatever it was, it managed to take away a bunch of the Oni's health as well.
With this round of attacking though, the Oni's health only went into the yellow zone. There was still thirty percent of its health that needed to be taken care of, and now, the Oni was dashing towards players, attacking them.
Every single attack that it landed was more dangerous than before. For the first time, the guild faced the possibility of losing.
"We are so many, that's just one Oni. As long as we attack together, we can easily overpower the goddamn Oni! Attack! Don't hesitate!" the elder shouted.
Myriad Arrows smiled at this.
"Looks like there is a good leader in that man. He took good control of this mess." he nodded with approval.
The Oni roared as more spells and arrows hit it, chipping away at its health bar. But in its next round of attacks on the nearest players, for the first time, the guild saw a number of casualties.
Seeing so many people die in front of them, losing the hard earned levels that they spent hours grinding on, it pained them. But it also reminded them that they were not invincible.
They were just lucky that until now, they had insane help that carried them to where they were right now.
"Tanks! Flank the Oni! Do not let it escape your confinement! The HP bar finally went into the red zone! We need to hit it with a round of attacks again and the battle will be won!" the elders shouted.
Seeing the chance that they could lose their levels, the tanks hesitated, which enraged both the leaders in the space.
Myriad Arrows clenched his fists while the guild elder was not so silent.
"What the hell are you fools waiting for? We will lose the battle if you don't go in! If you want to survive, then the goddamn boss needs to die! Get there! It is what you cowards are paid to do!" he shouted at them.
Although the elder got so many dirty looks for that, many of the tanks surrounded the Oni.
And at this time, the Oni's goblin nature of aggressiveness without any intelligence was shown. The Oni just wanted to battle the tanks that it could see. It didn't even bother with those who were actually shooting it.
And since the Oni was a whole two meters taller than everyone else, and towered over the tanks, it was an easy target. Arrows flew towards the Oni as tanks crashed to the ground left and right.
There was no skill or technique to the attacks, but they were effective and damage dealing. With each attack, most tanks lost more than half of their health.
They clenched their teeth as they got up, preparing to gear up to absorb another set of blows. But at that time, a round of bright arrows flew toward the Oni, and pierced its eye.
[Critical Hit! -358 HP]
It wasn't a lot of health gone right there, but it was enough. The Oni started staggering around, and fell on the ground. It's face changed to that of the goblin chieftain, and it pixelated to disappear.
The raid was over. No one realized that the Oni had taken so much damage. They were just attacking, while the tanks were just hoping that they would survive, and in all that chaos, the boss died.
"The raid is over!" everyone cheered while the elder put his sword away and walked toward the circle of tanks surrounding the loot that was dropped.
"What are you doing? Move aside." he frowned as he was blocked by one of the big men.
