The sun fell down. The moment it did, Jake got up.
Myriad Arrows also got up and looked around. This was the first time that he was on the mountain peak, so he didn't know how to enter the secret laboratory.
Jake kicked the rock the exact same way that he did the last time. The moment he did, he felt the gears below him shift.
The elevator was working now.
They were slowly descending into darkness. This was Myriad Arrows' first time through this elevator, but he wasn't too surprised by what was happening.
"He is the chairman's grand son after all. He must have been in that secret basement of Horace at least once." Jake thought to himself.
Now, he was getting impatient. He waited this long, but it took a lot for him to just stay there, doing absolutely nothing.
But this was the safe thing to do, and hence, they had to do it. Jake looked at the computer that was now in his hands. Unfortunately, he couldn't use the computer, and every aspect of the outside world except for chats was blocked.
Soon enough, they slowly entered the white laboratory. This time, the woman scientist was visible the moment that they entered. She was working on one of the comptuers, and the moment that she saw Jake and Myriad Arrows come through the elevator, she smiled.
The elevator thudded to a halt and Jake got off, followed by Myriad Arrows behind him.
"I can see that you have my computer here. I was waiting for this data." The scientist got to him quite quickly, and she grabbed the computer from his hands, opening it up immediately.
She opened it and put it on a nearby desk, connecting all sorts of wires to it.
"This came at the right time. You did your task really well. But I expected you to finish earlier. So I will not be giving you a special gift." The scientist shook her head.
[You have failed the Bonus Quest.]
Jake disregarded that notification. He didn't care about this one bit. He just wanted his way out of the secret realm now.
"Well then. For this, I am not going to deny what you came here for. The exit, it is in this lab. Follow me." The woman nodded.
She started walking deeper into the lab.
Jake knew how deep and wide the mountain was. And this lab was definitely going to be pretty wide.
As they went past dozens of computers, test tubes, giant capsules, Jake just gawked at how this scenario had just the one mad scientist handled the huge laboratory.
But they soon stopped at a familiar sight. It was the end of laboratory. The wall was made of rock, seemingly the remaining part of the mountain that was carved to make this lab possible.
And embedded in the wall was the green crystal.
Jake stepped up and clicked on the green crystal.
[Leave Secret realm?]
Jake nodded at Myriad Arrows and clicked on the green button.
[Warning. Once all of the players have left secret realm, secret realm will close down.]
[Still proceed?]
Jake nodded again, and he tapped on 'Yes' again.
The green crystal shone. It shone so brightly that it almost blinded Jake.
"This wasn't what happened when we first came to the secret realm." Jake thought, but he honestly couldn't care less.
He just passed through the portal.
The bright light of the lab was gone. What greeted him was the beautiful night sky of the Croatian forest. It was completely silent.
The first thing that he did was look around. He exited right where he entered. Right next to the boss of the forest.
Swish!
Myriad Arrows also exited the portal, and the moment that he did, the portal closed down.
Crack!
"Oh shit. We have to run." Jake suddenly said.
Myriad Arrows didn't ask any questions. Both of them started running toward the forest. It was familiar scene to them. Although the trees were shorter and much duller in comparison to the forest in the secret realm, it was still familiar territory to these two.
Behind them, the wall that they just exited from, the wall that had the green crystal in the first place, started crumbling down.
And sure, it made a quite deafening sound. Monsters all around the area were slowly awakening from their slumber to this disturbance.
Most prominent of them was obviously the boss. The moment that the boss awakened, it let the entire forest know that it was awake and quite angry.
Roar!
But the forest did not even make these two flinch.
"Looks like all of these monsters don't even hold a candle toward the dinosaurs." Myriad Arrows commented as they continued running.
"Where are we going to go?" Myriad Arrows asked as they made a really good run, successfully escaping from the boss.
"We have to get to safe space. We have to get to a city. Let us do that first. Let us take a look at the map." Jake said.
Still, they didn't stop. The reason? Jake knew that whichever way they ran wouldn't be an issue. There were two cities in the forest's perimeter, on opposing sides.
What Jake didn't want to do was risk being in the boss' operating area. So they were going to run for just a little bit longer.
Thirty minutes passed by, and they didn't say a word to each other. But finally, they stopped.
Sweaty and exhausted, Myriad Arrows fell on the ground while Jake looked at the map for the first time.
"We have to go that way. The nearest city should be about an hour away if we keep up our pace." Jake said.
"I just can't wait to get back home and sleep." Myriad Arrows grumbled as he got up, about to start running again, when he heard a sinister voice about them.
"You want to go home? We can hasten your process. Drop everything that you have in your inventory and maybe I will consider sparing your lives."
