Jake looked at the thick vines that completely surrounded him.
Each one was as wide as a human, and tall as a building. Just the one would be enough to scare him away.
And yet, all around him, there were hundreds, if not thousands.
This was the image that stretched for all that the eye could see. All the lands were filled with these tentacles, all waving around, unfazed by the sun that was shining down on them.
This was no beast that had arrived. Jake knew how even the most terrifying beasts were not capable of something like this.
He had seen the Gojira after all.
Sure, it was absolutely terrifying, towering over him and made him look like an ant, but that didn't mean that there was no way he could escape it.
But this, this was an inescapable net that was created.
"You have dared offend me! A God! I will punish you for this grave offense! Prepare to die, you fool!" This time, the voice didn't feel like it was being forced not his ears.
This time, the voice was loud. It was not a conversation. It was a declaration. A declaration of death.
Jake closed his eyes for a second, taking a deep breath.
Looking up straight at the sun, he shook his head. He had nothing. There was absolutely nothing that he could so.
One look at the tentacles that were around him, maybe ten feet apart in a square array, told him that each one had a million hit points.
A million!
That one number meant that just this one tentacle was enough to take care of an entire guild if it had arrived, let along one Jake.
? And if it was just the one, maybe Jake could hope to stay alive, by trying to move, and evade every single attack.
That was illogical and hoping for the best, but it was still slightly in the realms of possibility.
But all was thrown out the window when the whole body of the evil god had appeared here to take him on.
"Looking at this, it is like the evil lands and the evil god are one and the same. Why the hell am I faced up against such an insane opponent? How am I expected to compete?" Jake muttered, shaking his head.
He had given up, For once, he gave up.
All this time, no matter the obstacle, he tried to have a fighting chance. But now, he knew his limits. He could try to overcome a fifty level barrier, if he gave it everything.
But overcoming nine tiers? Trying to defeat a god himself? That was hoping for too much.
"Fine. I might lose now, but doesn't mean that you won't find me down swinging." Jake said, unresigned.
He could see the tentacle that was coming for him.
"Really? Nothing? This is important enough for the evil god himself to come out and act against a weak human. Surely, you can do something, can't you? God of Light?" Jake shouted as he looked up in the sky.
He crossed his fingers, hoping for the best. But nothing happened.
There was not a single reaction from the sky.
It was like the god was saying, there was nothing he could so. And the was enemy territory after all, so the God of Light's actions were very limited.
"It is a pity that I have to do this to a knight of sin, one who was supposed to be one of mine. But you have crossed me, and this is the last straw." The evil god spoke once more.
Jake saw the vine like tentacle, its yellow hue becoming darker and darker, as it slowly approached Jake.
But Jake didn't run.
He knew that if he did, the tentacle behind him, the tentacle to his sides, all of them would act.
This was the attack that was going to kill him, that was what the evil god had decided, and if he tried to run, it was only delaying the inevitable.
The huge tentacle cast a shadow perfectly over Jake.
Its thickness was just the width of a human, ergo, Jake.
So, while the sides were as sunny as they could, Jake was under the tentacle, under a shade that made him feel like he suddenly was teleported.
Gone was the warmth of the sun.
Instead, replacing it, was the cold and frigid temperatures of a desert at night.
Jake shivered as he put his sword away. This was nothing something that he could attack and hope to see a result.
There was only one thing that he could do against this tentacle.
The blow came down, and the final descent was swift.
It completely covered Jake, and all seemed lost.
"Reflect!"
In this desolate time, Jake's loud voice was muffled by the very tentacle that was covering him.
And as he shouted, his armor, which could not be seen before, was now visible.
A blue light was emanating from the tentacle itself, and as it was emanating, the tentacle started bulging where it was supposed to have Jake underneath.
Slowly, a giant bugle appeared in that one section of the vine.
Then, poof!
The vine suddenly burst into a million pieces, and the contents within were all spilt on top of Jake.
The tentacle, had blood within. It was purple, and was as gross as it looked.
But its properties were much more than color and smell.
This was no ordinary blood after all. This was the blood of God himself.
And all of that blood collapsed right on top of Jake's head, as he raised it in a final act of defiance.
He smiled.
It was a message.
The moment that the blood had contact with his body, he felt nothing.
Surprisingly nothing.
[You have been frozen.]
And then, the cold hit him.
Then, the darkness.
