Chapter 54 Talk With Alice
When Alice heard Alister's words, she realized her mistake of being too desperate to live before that she had offered to be Alister's servant. She had even seduced Alister before and when she realized that, it brought her an even greater shame!
Noticing Alice's embarrassment, Alister didn't tease her any further.
It was only when Alice finally recovered from her embarrassment that she asked Alister, "You should have known that I wasn't lying when I told you that you are my brother. But why did you kill me?"
Alister already expected this question so he answered fluently, "I don't want any unstable variables in my plan. My survival plan was only with Lynn and you weren't included in it. I couldn't afford any changes to my plan since that timeline was very crucial to me as it determined my survival in the next timeline."
"You can blame me for being too cautious. But I don't want to take too much risk especially when it was the time that I have to uncover the mastermind and since you were an experimental subject of the Cloud Sect before, they could have possibly brainwashed you already so I didn't want to take that risk."
When she received Alister's reply, Alice could only sigh as she sat on the couch, "Sigh, forget it. I don't want to blame you especially when you still recovered my memories in this timeline and even saved me from being abducted."
It would be a lie if Alice wasn't disappointed with what Alister had done to her. Although she didn't hate him, but she felt disappointed that despite Alister recognizing her as his sister, he still didn't hesitate to kill her.
But disappointment was only disappointment and not hatred. She still recognized Alister's effort for saving her in this timeline so she could only forgive Alister for what he had done before.
After Alice's words, the living room became silent as the three of them didn't know what to say next. The atmosphere in the living room became awkward.
To liven up the atmosphere, Alister asked, "Do you want me to erase our parents' memory of ourselves? I can also ask my subordinates to erase the records of us being their children. But if that happens, you will have to live with Lynn and me so that I can be assured of your safety."
Hearing Alister's question, Alice felt that his suggestion wasn't that bad. She didn't feel comfortable confronting her parents especially when their father had sold her.
If it wasn't for her mother's sake, Alice would have taken the initiative to kill her father since it was that damn bastard who had let her suffer as a test subject in the Cloud Sect!
Even in this timeline, Alice was furious that their father still hadn't changed and still had sold her despite the lack of the Cloud Sect's interference.
She didn't even doubt that if their father had gone into another debt due to his bad habit of gambling, their father would have likely sold Alister just to clear his debt again.
So she felt that it was best for them to cut off ties with their parents since they could live independently without them. She felt that it was too cheap to let her father get away with it after selling her to repay his debts but since it was her brother's suggestion and for her mother's sake, she didn't pursue this matter anymore.
"Yes, erase their memories of us so that they wouldn't bother us anymore. I know that we can live independently so we don't need them to raise us since we can do it by ourselves."
Hearing Alice's reply, Alister nodded, "Alright. Then wait for me. I will be out to deal with them."
After telling Lynn and Alice of his intentions beforehand, Alister left the house, leaving Lynn and Alice in the living room.
"So... you are my sister-in-law?"
Alice asked as she looked at Lynn beside her.
Alice had still remembered that it was Lynn who had defeated her before and when she compared Lynn's appearance to her child version, it was indeed very similar.
Faced with Alice's question, Lynn nodded, "Yes, but you can call me Lynn if you want to."
Receiving Lynn's reply, Alice decided to ask her another question after noticing her appearance, "Why are you a zombie this time? I know you were a zombie before like myself but you seem to have become a zombie voluntarily. Does my brother have strange hobbies?"
Hearing Alice talk about Alister's strange hobbies, Lynn replied, "He seemed to have gotten used to my zombie form so he didn't mind me becoming a zombie again. Not to mention, I was also used to being a zombie in the previous timeline. So instead of taking time to adapt to living a life as a human again, I decided to become a zombie again."
Listening to Lynn's reply, Alice commented, "This isn't the brother I have known."
In response to Alice's comment, Lynn replied, "People can change. It's also what Alister had told me when I had asked him why he had killed you instead of sparing your life. He didn't want to take any chances in taking in a time bomb like you since he hasn't met you for more than a decade."
"He said that such a long time would be enough for a person to change."
"The same went with Alister. The last time the two of you had met each other aside from your battle against each other was your childhood. Such a long time is enough for Alister to change so don't expect him to be the same as before."
When Alice heard Lynn's reply, she knew that what Lynn said was right. After all, the brother she had known before wouldn't kill her yet this time, her brother seemed to be indifferent and didn't even mind killing her.
Although her brother had made it up to her by somehow turning back time and recovering her memories of the previous timeline, she still felt that it could have been avoided if her brother wasn't as indifferent as he was right now.
After receiving Lynn's reply, she decided to ask Lynn out of curiosity, "How did you meet my brother?"
