Chapter 235 Lifespan Of Major Races, Encountering Elf Kidnapping
Reoserin City was the capital of Lyathas Kingdom and the largest city with the most elven population. Its entire population was approximately 4 million.
The elf race was one of the major races with the least population, similar to the dragon race. The fertility rate of the elves was so low that even if an elf couple had sex for hundreds of years, they might not be able to conceive a child.
Because of that, elves were known to be very aggressive. If even one member of their race was attacked, all the elves would band up to catch the perpetrator and execute him in public.
However, even the aggressiveness of those elves wouldn't stop slave traders from enslaving weak elves. The infamous slave traders were mostly from the human race and some were from the demon race.
Furthermore, the elves had a longer lifespan than most major races. Only dragons, spirits, and some special demon races could surpass an elf's lifespan.
Of course, that lifespan was calculated as their base lifespan or starting lifespan.
An average human could only live for one hundred years, a dwarf could only live up to 250 years, while a normal elf could live up to one thousand years.
However, if they became stronger such as their power level increased, their lifespan would be calculated by multiplying their base lifespan by their power level.
That would make the major races with a high base lifespan live a lot longer than other major races. Even if two living beings with the same power level have the same age, the living being with the higher base lifespan would live a lot longer than the living with a lower base lifespan.
For example, a grand-level human who was either a Grand Mage or a Grand Warrior would have a lifespan of 2000 years due to their base lifespan (100 years) being multiplied by 20 (the lifespan multiplier of a grand-level existence).
On the other hand, a normal elf who was a Grand Mage will have a lifespan of 20,000 years. As for elves who were Grand Warriors, that has yet to occur as it was impossible for an elf who specialized in magic to learn aura.
And even if elves learned aura, the greatest achievement they had in aura training was a Master Warrior. Moreover, that Master Warrior had already died and was one of the few elves who had ever become a Master Warrior.
Just like how it was impossible for an elf to become a Grand Warrior, the same went for dwarves who couldn't become a Grand Mage. It was rare for a dwarf to be born with a magic aptitude and even rarer to become a 10th-Circle Mage.
All in all, each race had its disadvantages aside from the dragon race who were both proficient in magic and aura while still having an enormous amount of lifespan. At least, since the creation of the world of Fantasia, there has yet to be a dragon who had died of a natural death.
The world of Fantasia was only around two hundred thousand years old.
In his free time, Alister was reading history books of the world of Fantasia.
Although he had read some histories of Fantasia in his hundred-year agreement with Zanna, it wasn't to the point he had read all of it. After all, rather than reading books, he was more focused on spending time with Zanna.
And if he ever needed historical knowledge, Alister could just ask Zanna about it since she was the one who wrote the historical books he was reading right now. He was only reading these historical books to pass the time.
As the Primordial Spirit of Chaos, Zanna was as old as the world.
Although it took Zanna a hundred thousand years to become a demigod-level powerhouse, that didn't mean she wasn't talented. She was very talented but the element she specialized on was very difficult to learn and master.
If it was others who studied the real chaos element and not those imitations, they wouldn't be able to reach the demigod-level even if they were given two hundred thousand years.
As for Alister, he was an exception to that since he not only had the Unparalleled Talent, but he also had the Superb Magic Aptitude.
Zanna's talent might be the peak of the world, but Alister's talent was beyond the world's limit. At least, Alister has yet to arrive in a world where the limit of the red-grade talent was reached. n-.o.(v--e-(l/(b--1-(n
While Alister was reading a historical book, a day has passed.
Even when it had rained last night, Alister continued reading his book. After all, the grand-level royal carriage wasn't a grand-level magic artifact for nothing.
The magic enchantments engraved on the royal carriage were activated and it created a thin barrier that covered Alister from the rain.
Currently, it was already afternoon and the bright rays of the sun shone down on Alister. The warm windy breeze made his ebony black hair flutter.
Leaves danced in the air as they were carried by the wind's symphony. A flock of birds flew freely in the sky.
It was a nice sunny day for slave trading.
Or at least, Alister had noticed that in his mental perception range, there were human bandits kidnapping elves who had wandered outside Reoserin City.
Although kidnapping even just one elf would offend the entire elf race, it wasn't unusual for a bunch of desperadoes to risk their lives just to earn a living by doing dirty jobs.
After all, if they do those dirty jobs, they would put their lives at risk. However, if they didn't do those dirty jobs, they wouldn't have money to buy their daily necessities.
Compared to risking one's life to live a lot longer, only a few would choose to do nothing and await their inevitable death.
In this case, the human bandits led by a slave trader were one of those desperadoes who could.
Before Alister could decide whether to deal with those bandits or not, he heard Zanna's voice from the carriage, "Alister, can you eliminate those bandits and save those poor elves? The elf race has an extremely good relationship with the spirit race."
