Chapter 238 Freeing The Caged Elves
The lifeless corpse of the slave trader was crucified on the wooden cross. All of his limbs were mutilated. He looked like a human stick with a torso and head. His chopped-off limbs were littered on the ground with both dried and fresh blood dying the ground black and red.
However, Alister's clothes weren't stained with blood despite the ruthless torture he inflicted on the slave trader. He had covered himself with a layer of mana that reflected any blood and stench that headed towards him.
Maintaining his cleanliness, Alister shook the blood off his mana knife as he slashed it to his side.
After dealing with the slave trader, Alister walked towards the caged elves.
The caged elves had witnessed Alister's brutal torture of the slave trader and it made some weak-minded elves feel uncomfortable. However, none of them blamed Alister since they knew that if the slave trader wasn't killed by him, they would become slaves and their future would be much worse.
Even if the torture inflicted on the slave trader was gory as if the slave trader was an animal being butchered, the older elves were glad that the slave trader reaped what he had sowed.
However, they might not think that Alister's methods were wrong since the slave trader deserved it, but they still fear Alister's ruthless method. Witnessing Alister torture the slave trader and acting as if nothing had happened, made the elves feel fear and trepidation as Alister walked towards them.
Just because Alister killed the bandits and tortured the slave trader didn't mean that they weren't wary of Alister. After all, it could also mean that Alister had a grudge against the slave trader, and torturing the slave trader was not to save them and bring them justice but out of Alister's personal revenge.
When the elves thought of that possibility, they became even warier of Alister. But no matter how much they feared Alister, they knew they couldn't do anything to resist Alister if he ever chose to harm and torture them.
After all, even if they were released from their cages and their magic handcuffs were removed, they weren't confident that they could defeat Alister. His power was way above their level to the point that they couldn't guess how powerful he was.
They didn't know Alister's true intention but they could guess that Alister came from a noble background. Although Alister acted as the coachman of the royal carriage, the royal carriage he drove was even more luxurious than the royal carriages they could see in Reoserin City.
Furthermore, the caged elves were surprised that they couldn't even see through the power of the horse pulling the royal carriage!
However, even if they couldn't see through the horse's power, they instinctively felt fear as if the horse was stronger than them. If a horse was stronger than them, it only meant that the horse wasn't an animal but a monster.
Compared to animals or livestock that didn't have any mana, monsters were also called "magical beasts" as they used to be normal animals but had evolved due to mana.
It was normal for the royalties to use tamed monsters as their mount or to let tamed monsters pull their royal carriage. But from what the caged elves remembered, they had never seen such a powerful tamed monster.
However, the strongest among them was only a 1st-Circle Mage so they didn't take it to heart. They were weak so they couldn't see through the difference in power of those who were stronger than them.
Even if a Master Mage and a Grand Mage stood in front of them, they wouldn't be able to differentiate on which was stronger between the two unless those Master Mage and Grand Mage told their power levels or fought against each other.
Because of their weakness, they couldn't estimate how powerful Alister was. If they could, they wouldn't be wary of him.
After all, such a powerful existence like Alister wouldn't care about nobodies like them. And even if he did, it was something that they couldn't resist.
After all, Alister was an existence who could destroy their race if he ever wanted to. Even the Elf King couldn't defeat Ignis, let alone Zanna and Alister.
Knowing that they couldn't resist even if they wanted to, the elves already prepared for the worst as Alister walked closer to them.
Noticing the fear shown in their eyes, Alister just used his sword intent to destroy the metal cages and the magic handcuffs. His swordsmanship had reached the level of choosing what to cut and what not to cut. n)(OveLBIn
Even if his sword passed through someone, his sword wouldn't cut them if he didn't want to cut them. So if there was a tree behind someone and he wanted to cut that tree, his sword could pass through that person and cut the tree behind that person.
Alister has complete control over what he wants to cut and what not to cut. The black-grade swordsmanship was just that powerful. It could even cut the godhead of a god without harming their body, thereby cutting them to reduce them into a mortal.
So when Alister's mana knife cut the elves, metal cages, and the magic handcuffs, the elves weren't cut since Alister chose not to cut them.
After all, what's the point of saving someone if he planned to kill them?
After freeing the elves, Alister asked, "Do you want me to teleport you to the spirit realm?"
With his absolute mind superpower, he could already see through the thoughts of those elves so he knew that they left Reoserin City to travel to the Spirit Realm.
Of course, not everyone could enter the Spirit Realm so the elves only planned to enter the place near the passageway of the Spirit Realm. Summoning a spirit at that location would be a lot easier and could guarantee that they could sign a contract with a lesser spirit at the least.
Hearing Alister's suggestion, the elves thought for a bit and decided to trust their savior.
Receiving the permission of those elves, Alister activated his teleportation magic and sent them to their destination.
After teleporting those elves, Alister spoke to Zanna, "Now that those elves are saved, let's go to Reoserin City."
