Chapter 6: Intergalactic Year 2333
Two days later.
The 3rd Legion’s battleship Wyvern descended into the
atmosphere of the abandoned B-324, one day ahead of schedule.
After experiencing continuous warp jumps nonstop, all of the
people on the battleship Wyvern felt somewhat ill.
This amount of warps already exceeded what their bodies can
handle. The galactic navigation law has a rule. Normal spaceships
can only engage in one warp per day.
Even battleships can only do two warps at most.
However, the 3rd Legion was urgent in their rescue mission. After
learning that Wen XiaoYun was on the abandoned trash planet of
B-324, which had high radiation contamination, they couldn’t sit
still anymore and practically wished to fly over the battleship
immediately. In a short span of three days, they had experienced
5 warp jumps to finally arrive at B-324 one day early.
As soon as the battleship landed, everyone in the 3rd Legion
became ill and practically vomited.
“Everyone stay here and rest on call. Zhang Fen, bring your
squad and follow me. We’re leaving!”
“Yes! Vice-admiral Cheng!”
Under Cheng JinXue’s lead, the elite squad put on anti-radiation
suits and left the battleship with equipment in hand.
As soon as they exited the battleship, the helmets of the
protective suits lit up with warnings.
Zhang Feng took in a sharp cold breath: “What a strong radiation
level. Without protective gear, it’s really impossible to stay here.
Vice-admiral Cheng, is the boss really here on B-324?”
After leaving the main battleship, the escape pod would follow the
gravitational pull of the stars within the universe and float off.
Anywhere was possible, however, the radiation pollution on B-324
was really too terrifying. It’d be impossible for anyone to survive
here.
Cheng JinXue’s face also grew heavy: “According to the data that
I inspected previously, the disaster area most affected by the
energy radiation is here, in this space port. Boss is pretty far from
here. The radiation over there shouldn’t be as severe.”
The battleship wyvern was very big. Without a special area, it’s
not easy to land. They had no choice but to land at the
abandoned space port. Previously, this was a special area for
spaceships to stop and rest.
These words, however, were only said for a peace of mind. It was
still the same planet. Areas very far from the disaster area were
still polluted areas. Or else B-324 wouldn’t have been abandoned.
Thus, an issue appeared very quickly.
They just got on the hover cars when they discovered that the
radiation pollution from the energy sources was so bad, it
severely interfered with the electromagnetic field used by the
hover cars, making it hard to drive the cars quickly.
Cheng JinXue decided promptly: “Switch the vehicles.”
The hover cars were all exchanged for the most common, cross
country, armored cars. The squad finally headed off towards the
position transmitted from the locator.
At this time.
Wen XiaoYun and the post-sentient little scrappy robot were
clashing terribly with each other.
The little scrappy robot completely ignored the commands that
Wen XiaoYun programmed and adamantly refused to rummage
through the piles of garbage.
Wen XiaoYun had assembled this piece of junk for the purpose of
scanning for components. Xiao PoLan refused to rummage
through the garbage, why did Wen XiaoYun still need this robot?
Wen XiaoYun caught Xiao PoLan, intending to take it apart and
reprogram it.
He went to take apart Xiao PoLan. Xiao PoLan was so terrified, it
trembled in fear and clung to Zhuang Zhou, refusing to let go.
Zhuang Zhou hugged Xiao PoLan back, trembling as well.
His follower, his heartache.
And this was his very first follower!
Zhuang Zhou said in a pitiful tone: “Do you really, really have to
take it apart?”
Wen XiaoYun asked back: “What am I supposed to do with a
robot that doesn’t listen?”
Zhuang Zhou assured in a small voice: “But I think it listens very
well……”
In Zhuang Zhou’s arms, Xiao PoLan nodded its head repeatedly.
Zhuang Zhou snuck a glance at Wen XiaoYun. Not hearing Wen
XiaoYun retorting back, Zhuang Zhou said slowly: “And plus, this
robot is so intelligent…… taking it apart would be such a waste.”
Xiao PoLan continued to nod its head, looking very well-behaved.
Wen XiaoYun: “The main program won’t be changed. I’m only
taking it apart to re-install the commands.”
In Zhuang Zhou’s ears, this was like taking a demon’s body,
forcibly dissecting it, and then sewing it back together.
It was still the same person, but it’s like they had just received a
surgery without getting anesthesia.
Xiao PoLan trembled with fear.
Zhuang Zhou’s heart softened at this sight. The recently
transformed little demon still might be completely unfamiliar with
this world, yet it was already being forced to go to work……
And in such a huge pile of garbage too. Life was really too tough
for Xiao PoLan.
Zhuang Zhou said in a small voice: “Then why don’t I work
together with it…… We have to… sort the garbage first right?”
Wen XiaoYun gave Zhuang Zhou a glance.
Zhuang Zhou looked too clean. This kind of clean wasn’t just
being physically clean. Even his entire person was in complete
conflict with this trash planet.
It already felt extremely wrong just seeing him stand in this kind
of place. To make him pick up trash gave an even more intense
feeling of blasphemy.
Wen XiaoYun: “Forget it. You can go read and study.”
Zhuang Zhou hugged Xiao PoLan tightly: “What about it……”
Wen XiaoYun: “You decide.”
His tone seemed to carry a slight hint of fond exasperation.
Zhuang Zhou immediately started smiling happily. His eyes
curved, looking like the sun.
Seeing his smiling face, Wen XiaoYun’s mood turned much better
as well. The corner of his mouth was just about to curve upwards
to return Zhuang Zhou’s smile when he saw the scrappy robot in
Zhuang Zhou’s arms, at an angle that Zhuang Zhou couldn’t see,
giving him the middle finger.
Wen XiaoYun: “........................”
Wavering between fixing the robot and not fixing it for a while,
Wen XiaoYun ultimately turned around and left.
Zhuang Zhou knew that reading and studying words will help him
become fluent at speaking and this was very important. Also,
Xiao PoLan just gained life, who knows if it knew how to read.
Thus, after Wen XiaoYun left, Zhuang Zhou had Xiao PoLan start
learning together with him.
While they were studying, Zhuang Zhou didn’t forget to remind
Xiao PoLan: “You have to be obedient and well-behaved, like an
(Alexa or Google Home). You can’t expose yourself, understand?
After the establishment of PRC, demons are not allowed. If you
get discovered, you’ll be captured and forcibly scrapped.”
The idea of being forcibly scrapped was indeed a scary thought
that terrified Xiao PoLan. It felt a bit regretful. Just now, he
shouldn’t have given the middle finger……
Zhuang Zhou didn’t notice Xiao PoLan’s post traumatic fears and
continued to educate it: “Wen XiaoYun is a good person. After
you finish looking through this page, let’s go help him sort out the
garbage.”
This time, Xiao PoLan very obediently nodded its head.
Therefore, after reading a page of the picture book, Zhuang Zhou
brought Xiao PoLan to find Wen XiaoYun.
“Wen XiaoYun, we came to help you collect garbage.” After
Zhuang Zhou finished speaking, Xiao PoLan also obediently
nodded its head, its huge mechanical blue eyes looking innocent
and pure.
Wen XiaoYun’s voice was unenthused: “I can do it myself.”
Zhuang Zhou suddenly let out a cry of alarm: “Why do you have
a nosebleed?!”
Hearing this, Wen XiaoYun subconsciously went to touch. His
hand came back covered in blood.
He furrowed his brows. The radiation that affected his body was
getting more and more severe. It even made his reactions
somewhat sluggish.
Without Zhuang Zhou’s warning, he didn’t even notice that he
was having a nosebleed.
“No matter.” Wen XiaoYun said in his usual calm.
Zhuang Zhou gave a very stern look: “Hurry up and go rest to
the side. Don’t tilt your head back.”
As he said this, he also pressed Wen XiaoYun down to sit.
In Wen XiaoYun’s eyes, Zhuang Zhou’s strength was completely
insignificant. Nevertheless, he still yielded to Zhuang Zhou’s soft
cotton-like push and sat down.
Zhuang Zhou said: “You rest right here. Xiao PoLan and I will
help you sort out the trash. Squeeze your nose with your hand.
Let’s see if it’ll stop in a few minutes.”
When Zhuang Zhou became serious, he actually looked a bit
imposing. However, because he was too good-looking, he seemed
a bit…… adorably fierce.
Stunned faintly, Wen XiaoYun also unexpectedly noticed that the
youth was more and more fluent in speaking the galactic
language.
After saying this, Zhuang Zhou brought Xiao PoLan to collect
trash together. Xiao PoLan contained Wen XiaoYun’s previous
commands. It knew what kind of components he wanted to find.
Therefore, Zhuang Zhou started to sort the garbage out into
categories. A huge mountain of trash like this…… if Wen XiaoYun
had to do this alone by himself, how terribly exhausting would
that be.
Zhuang Zhou did his work diligently, yet occasionally looking
towards Wen XiaoYun. Only after verifying that the other was
obediently squeezing his nose would Zhuang Zhou continue to
sort the trash with a lowered head.
Minutes later, he returned to Wen XiaoYun’s side and asked: “Did
the bleeding stop?”
Wen XiaoYun moved his hand away and touched it tentatively,
saying: “Not flowing anymore.”
Finally Zhuang Zhou was able to give a smile of relief: “You can
rest a bit more.”
Then, he happily went off to collect garbage.
Completely not noticing that behind him, Wen XiaoYun had been
quietly watching him this entire time.
Zhuang Zhou was busy sorting the garbage when suddenly, his
ears twitched. He raised his head and looked off into the distance.
Huh?
Why was there the sound of cars?
Not far away, a few cross-country vehicles drove over speedily,
creating waves of dust and dirt in its passing.
Zhuang Zhou’s eyes lit up. It really was cars!
“Wen XiaoYun, look over there, quick! There’s cars!”
Cheng JinXue had already sent Wen XiaoYun a report before
battleship Wyvern landed. Therefore, when Wen XiaoYun noticed
the squad, he wasn’t particularly surprised.
However, Zhuang Zhou was extremely delighted and shocked.
This was the first time he was seeing people other than Wen
XiaoYun after getting lost in this place.
The squad of cars sped along. Charging directly towards them, it
then stopped in front of them steadily.
Zhuang Zhou was about to go inquire when he saw 7 people
dressed in what looked like astronaut suits coming over to Wen
XiaoYun and saluting him in unison.
“Boss!”
Zhuang Zhou understood this word.
“They know you?” Zhuang Zhou asked in a small voice: “Did they
come searching for you?”
“En.” Wen XiaoYun rubbed him on the head.
Zhuang Zhou’s existence gave Cheng JinXue and the others a
huge shock. Especially Cheng JinXue. He had thought this entire
time that the boss was the only person on this abandoned planet.
He never imagined there’d also be this young looking boy.
Who was this person?
Why would he be here as well?
Wait a second!
Cheng JinXue suddenly thought of something.
The boss had said previously that he dreamt of someone multiple
times in a row…… someone he just met…… Could it be? It’s this
youth?!
Suppressing his astonishment, Cheng JinXue hastily took out a
protective suit and gave it to Wen XiaoYun, reporting: “Boss, the
battleship has stopped at the spaceport. It’ll take about half an
hour to get over there, and also……”
He paused briefly, somewhat upset: “We only brought one set of
protective gear.”
He really didn’t know there’d be other people here. Boss didn’t
mention this before either.
In order to find Wen XiaoYun as soon as possible, they headed
out with only light gear, not really spending too much time
getting ready.
“It’s fine.” Wen XiaoYun gave Zhuang Zhou the protective suit,
telling him to wear it.
Zhuang Zhou was somewhat confused.
Seeing everyone else examining him, he felt somewhat
embarrassed. Tugging Wen XiaoYun to the side, he asked in a
small voice: “Why does everyone have to dress like this?”
Wen XiaoYun said: “The contamination from the radiation on this
planet is very strong. The protective gear is anti-radiation.”
Zhuang Zhou was even more confused: “Pla, planet……?”
Knowing that Zhuang Zhou wasn’t affected by the radiation, Wen
XiaoYun suppressed the volume of his voice and said: “Even
though you’re not affected, it’s best to wear it. Don’t let others
find out.”
Zhuang Zhou’s heart skipped a beat. Strangely, he had a really
bad feeling.
What planet. What contamination……
And also what did Wen XiaoYun say just now, not letting others
discover something.
He asked: “Are you also affected by the contamination?”
Wen XiaoYu corrected his word usage: “It’s radiation
contamination. Radiation. When we get back, I’ll teach you how
to write it. Anyways, just don’t let people know.”
He opened the protective suit and helped Zhuang Zhou put it on.
Zhuang Zhou hastily said: “I don’t need to wear it. I……”
He was a god. His body won’t be affected by anything.
Yet he only learned just now, that Wen XiaoYun can be
contaminated by the pollution here.
In order to not be contaminated, they needed to wear this
astronaut-like suit.
The more Zhuang Zhou thought about this, the more he felt
like…… this place most likely wasn’t another country in Asia……
This suspicion followed him as they packed away everything in
the escape pod and returned to the spaceport following the car
squad.
Looking at the humongous object parked in the spaceport,
Zhuang Zhou was completely shellshocked.
“This, this is?”
Wen XiaoYun’s voice was calm and composed: “Battleship
Wyvern.”
Zhuang Zhou felt lightheaded: “What’s the year right now?”
Wen XiaoYun felt a bit strange why he’d ask this, but still said:
“Intergalactic Year 2333.”
Zhuang Zhou: “.........................”
The little God of Wealth silently hugged his Divine Image tightly.
What, what’s going on?
The High God never said that they can land in space!
