Chapter 1339 She Is My Date　　The next day Jiang Yuyan went to meet Mr. Mountbatten, Jake’s father as they were the biggest partner of their projects in Europe. 

The lady assistant welcomed Jiang Yuyan and guided her way toward the Chairman’s office. Just as she entered, she saw Mr Mountanbatten sitting in his chair and a pretty lady, his wife, sitting on the couch. Both stood up to greet her. 

”President Lu, good to see you here,” said the man as he walked towards her and shook hands with her. 

Jiang Yuyan replied with a pleasant smile, “Good to see you too, Mr Mountbatten.”

”It’s been years since we have met,” said the lady, Mrs Olivia Mountbatten.

Jiang Yuyan nodded, “I think there will be more chances to meet often now.”

”True,” the lady replied with a smile, “Please have a seat.”

Just then the door opened and Jake entered the office. He greeted Jiang Yuyan and shook hands with her. They were not unknown to each other. 

As they sat, they talked about current projects. 

”I am glad to see the way the project is going,” said the chairman. 

Jiang Yuyan nodded, “The way Lu Lijun, Noah and Mr Jake are working, it’s really impressive.” She addressed him in a professional way though he was Lu Lijun’s friend. At the same time, he was a business partner and the prince of one of the royal families.

”Lu Lijun, he had surgery. Is he fine now? I just returned to the city and will meet him soon,” said the lady.

”He is fine now,” Jiang Yuyan assured. 

This week we have one social event and all the people from the business world will be there. I believe president Lu is in England till then,” said the man. 

”I have received an invitation. I will be there,” she assured. 

Jake could not believe what she said. He thought she would return soon and she didn’t like to attend such parties but she agreed. ‘Is she staying because of Lu Lijun?’ Just then he heard Jiang Yuyan. 

”Lu Lijun is not well. So I thought about staying here for some more time and sharing part of his work so he can rest.”

’So she is staying for him and that idiot thinks she doesn’t care for him at all,’ Jake thought.

Next few days Jiang Yuyan continued working from home but didn’t allow Lu Lijun to leave home and asked him to rest only. Noah attended the office and handled everything from there.

She attended all the meetings instead of Lu Lijun and handled everything very well. No wonder she was the great president Lu who was now skilled in business.

The day came when they had to attend the social event arranged by the Mountbattens. Lu Lijun, Jiang Yuyan and Noah and Xiao Min attended the event. 

Mr Mountbatten introduced Jiang Yuyan to several people who had heard her name before but never got the chance to meet her in person while few had already met her whenever she came to England for some business. 

Just then a young woman came to them, “President Lu,” and she greeted Jiang Yuyan. Jiang Yuyan greeted her back and heard her say, “I always wanted to meet you and I am glad that I got this chance. I have followed your work for a long time and I must say I have learned a lot.

Jiang Yuyan only smiled at the young lady as she could see how genuinely she meant it. It was not the first time when someone came to her. She said again, “No wonder Lu Lijun is the same as you. I am sure he has learned lots of things from you,” she then looked at Lu Lijun, “Am I right.”

Lu Lijun nodded only and she asked, “Who is your date tonight?”

”Do I need to have one?” he asked. Jiang Yuyan could see they knew each other. 

She smiled sweetly, “No need at all. You are good like this to dance with me. Shall we?” she offered him a hand. 

Lu Lijun didn’t wish to embarrass her in front of everyone and accepted it. As they went towards where couples were busy dancing, Noah cleared his throat and said, “She is our friend from university.”

Jiang Yuyan only nodded.

A middle-aged man approached them. “President Lu?”

Jiang Yuyan looked at him. She didn’t recognise him and thought about who he was and then heard him, “We haven’t met before but I know you well through the news from the business world. You are the queen of the Chinese business world.”

”Well, that’s not true,” Jiang Yuyan replied casually as she could see the man trying to flatter her. 

”I must say you look even prettier in real life than in the picture. Young and successful,” the man said again as he stared at her delicate face. He offered his hand, “May I have the privilege to dance with the most beautiful lady here.”

When all this was going on, Lu Lijun didn’t fail to notice this even from a distance. He greeted his teeth and was about to leave the woman he was dancing with but then something happened that made him stop. 

”I have to apologize Mr. Walter but President Lu is my date tonight and I don’t allow my date to dance with someone else.”

That was Jake who saw this man. He knew President Lu was strong enough to show this man his place, but he wished to handle it swiftly so that after this no one wished to approach her. He was the Prince and no one would dare do it with his date. He was sure, that if his friend saw this, he would kill this man and he already saw Lu Lijun glaring at this man. 

Jake offered his hand to Jiang Yuyan, “President Lu, shall we?”

Jiang Yuyan accepted his hand without a second thought as she knew Jake’s intentions. After the dance with him, everyone will know she is his date and will stay away from her.

When Lu Lijun saw her accepting Jake’s hand, he felt relieved and he too understood the reason behind it. It was good that he didn’t have to come forward or Jiang Yuyan would have seen he still felt the same for her which he didn’t wish to show her. 

But he was sure he will teach that man lesson sooner or later. He dared put his filthy gaze on her.
