When Jiang Yuyan and Lu Lijun reached the downstairs still holding her hand, the butler bowed to them. Jiang Yuyan tried to pull her hand back, but Lu Lijun held her tightly.
"Breakfast is ready," the butler informed.
Lu Lijun nodded and walked towards the dining room holding Jiang Yuyan's hand.
"I am not hungry," she said.
"I know," Lu Lijun replied and continued to go towards the dining room.
He knew she would say the same; that's why he didn't let go of her hand to take her to eat some food.
"It's almost time, and I don't want to be late," Jiang Yuyan said in her low and helpless voice.
Lu Lijun stopped and turned to look at the butler. "Pack something."
The butler nodded and went towards the kitchen while the two walked to go out of the mansion.
"You can leave my hand," she said, and Lu Lijun listened to her.
The car for them was ready at the entrance of the Mansion. Lu Lijun opened the front passenger door and let her sit inside as he put on the seat belt for her. He waited for the butler to bring what he asked for.
Soon after, the butler came with a small bag that had a food box inside it. Accepting it, Lu Lijun passed it to Jiang Yuyan, and he sat in the driver's seat as they finally left the mansion.
"Don't worry, we will be there on time," Lu Lijun assured. Just as they touched the highway, Lu Lijun spoke, "Do you want me to stop the car somewhere so you can eat calmly?"
Jiang Yuyan understood the hidden meaning and unpacked the food box. She sure didn't want him to stop anywhere. Keeping the box in her lap, she opened it. The box had sandwiches in them cut into smaller pieces so they would be easy to eat. Along with that, there was a container of juice with a sipper, which she kept in the mug holder between her and Lu Lijun.
Feeling worried that this guy might make them reach late, she had a bite in a hurry and sipped juice as her cheeks looked fluffy like a squirrel.
Lu Lijun glanced at her. He pulled out the paper tissues from the box and handed them over to her. A light smile painted on his lips, and he continued to focus on driving.
Just as she gulped her first bite, she looked at Lu Lijun and realized something.
"You missed your breakfast too," she concluded. Before Lu Lijun could answer, she held the food box in her free hand, "Eat something from this."
Still focussed on driving as it was the highway and so many vehicles were running on it, Lu Lijun grabbed on Jiang Yuyan's hand that held the piece of sandwich from which she had a bite. He moved her hand towards him and ate it even before she could understand what he was doing.
In disbelief, Jiang Yuyan looked at him, the one who happily chewed the bite with no trace on his face that he had done something unusual.
Lu Lijun picked up the juice container, had a sip while focused on the road, and put it back.
Jiang Yuyan frowned inwardly and put the box back in her lap. She picked up another small piece of sandwich and said, "You can take this."
"I can't keep holding it when I drive. You can eat it," he said.
Jiang Yuyan held the piece closer to his mouth and instructed, "Eat!" She sure didn't want him to starve.
Smiling lightly, Lu Lijun had a bite, and she kept holding it for him. "I am not poisonous," he said, seeing how she didn't eat it. "Nothing happened to you when we kissed, so….."
Jiang Yuyan stuffed the remaining sandwich piece in his mouth to stop him from talking.
Lu Lijun ate it while the smile didn't leave his lips. Seeing her flustered was the sight to see, and it could only make him fall for her deeper.
On the way, they finished the food while Jiang Yuyan continued to feed both of them. Jiang Yuyan looked for the water bottle, but there was none.
"What happened?" he asked.
"Water."
Lu Lijun looked on his side, but there was no water bottle. "Seems like butler uncle forgot to keep it," he said and looked at her. She was thirsty after eating and needed the water.
Lu Lijun picked up the juice container that Jiang Yuyan didn't touch after Lu Lijun took a sip from him and offered it to her. "It's a deserted hilly area, and there won't be any shops on the way."
Jiang Yuyan knew the temple was on the hillside and an isolated place, and what Lu Lijun said was the truth.
She quietly accepted the juice contained and had a few sips as she felt relieved.
Lu Lijun emptied the rest of the juice and informed, "In fifteen minutes, we will be there."
As he continued to drive, Jiang Yuyan glanced at him. She realized, whatever he did or said today; she didn't get angry at him. She was calm as if she was used to it, and it was not a big deal. Was she getting habitual to his behavior, or was it because, on this day, she wished to be calm only?
Soon they reached the temple. San Zemin's men were guarding the entire temple as it was only meant for the Lu Family members to enter, and no outsider was allowed till they finish the memorial services and leave the temple.
The two men in black suits at the gate of the tall boundary wall of the temple bowed to them and allowed the car to enter the temple premise, the piece of Land with tall boundary walls as the huge temple made in ancient Chinese architecture sat in the middle of it.
Many of San Zemin's men were present inside the premises, too, as San Zemin was busy instructing them. Soon after he was informed the boss was there, he hurried to go to her car.
Lu Lijun stepped out of the car and opened the door for her as San Zemin and Xiao Min arrived there.
"Good morning, boss," they said.
Jiang Yuyan accepted their greeting with a slight nod, and they guided the way for Jiang Yuyan and Lu Lijun towards the temple.
