Lu Lijun and Yuyan reached the place which was familiar to Jiang Yuyan. It's been a long time since she had come here.
Lu Lijun drove the car off the main road and they reached the place which had one small hill with a single big tree at the top. It was the place where Jiang Yuyan had some nice memories with Lu Qiang, Jiang Yang, and Lu Feng.
After Lu Qiang passed away, Jiang Yuyan brought Lu Lijun here to spend some time alone when he was not in good mental condition after his brother's death.
Sitting inside the car, Jiang Yuyan looked at the hillside as she heard some voices from the past.
'You three are looking like dirty chickens."
"Hey don't click our pictures, Yuyan."
Click! Click!
"This would be an epic picture. The president, a doctor, and a handsome man alive looking like dirty chickens."
"Hey don't spoil my handsome image."
"You can take pictures of us but don't show it to others."
"I will hang it up in the living room of Lu Mansion for everyone to see."
When she was busy remembering those old days, The car's door on her side opened that pulled her out of the daze. She looked at Lu Lijun who had opened the door only to hear him. "Wait!"
He opened the door of the back passenger seat and pulled out one box. In that box, there was a pair of simple belly shoes. He put them in the car in front of Jiang Yuyan's feet and said, "Wear this. Heels might trouble you when you walk on the slope.
"I am fine."
Lu Lijun gave her a questioning gaze, "Who said a while ago she will listen to everything I will say?"
Jiang Yuyan said nothing and quietly removed her heels to wear those bellies. Lu Lijun offered her hand to help her get out of the car and she gave him a narrowed-eyed look as if saying- I can get off on my own. But she accepted his hand as he stared at her with the gaze which was saying the same thing- you said you will listen to what I will say.
Holding his hand, Jiang Yuyan stepped out of the car and looked at the small hilly structure.
"Shall we?" he asked, still holding her hand.
Jiang Yuyan nodded and the two walked ahead where the car couldn't go.
Halfway towards the hill, two men in black suits came across them and bowed to them. "Good evening, President Lu! Good evening, Fourth Young Master!"
"Is everything ready?" Lu Lijun asked.
"Yes, Fourth Young Master."
"You can leave," Lu Lijun instructed."
Jiang Yuyan was shocked to see what was going on as she knew those two men. She looked at Lu Lijun, "Those two…."
"San Zemin's men who he has appointed to follow me," Lu Lijun replied.
"What are they doing here?" Jiang Yuyan asked feeling all shocked.
Lu Lijun continued walking while holding her hand and replied, "Isn't it good I put them to some better use instead of following me for nothing?"
Jiang Yuyan was even more shocked as she exclaimed. "What did you ask them to do? How can they obey your commands?"
"When the commands are related to their lady boss, why won't they listen?" Lu Lijun replied as they reached the top side from where the sunset was visible.
"But…"
"Shhh!" just see there.
Jiang Yuyan looked at the sunset that reminded her of the days when she used to bring Lu Lijun here to show the same thing. She turned quiet and kept looking at it. Lu Lijun took her even further to the boundary wall of that hill and the two stood there looking at the sunset.
"You used to bring me here to show this," he said and she nodded lightly, looking like in a trance to see the beautiful view ahead.
He spoke again, "Do you remember the last time when we were here and you asked me to draw this sunset saying it's so pretty?"'
"Hmm!" Jiang Yuyan nodded.
"But when you returned to me, my drawing sheet was empty," Lu Lijun added.
"Hmm!"
"It was not empty," he said.
She looked at him questioningly and he answered. "I already drew the prettiest picture but when you came to see it, I hid it."
"Why?" she asked.
"Even I don't know why I hid it at that time," he answered and asked looking at her, "Do you want to see what I drew in my sheet at that time?"
"Do you still have it?" she asked, thinking he was joking.
"How can I not?" he said and pulled out one rolled piece of paper from inside the suit jacket. He put forward for her to accept it.
Jiang Yuyan got it from him and unrolled the paper. She held it straight only to see her own picture in which she was standing at the same place, looking at the sunset. She didn't know what to say and kept looking at it.
"Only you were the prettiest thing I could see even when I was a kid," Lu Lijun spoke as he chuckled at his own realization.
Jiang Yuyan rolled the picture back and went silent. She didn't know what to say or feel at this moment. After a few moments of silence, she spoke, "Did you bring me here to show this picture only? If it's done, we can return."
"You forgot what day it is," Lu Lijun asked.
She looked at him and asked, "What is it?" because she couldn't remember if something special happened on this day. Not like it was his or her birthday.
"You will know. For now, just enjoy this." The two stood there quietly as the cold breeze continued to pass them. Sun disappeared and the surrounding was covered with darkness but it didn't feel scary as the lights from the highway were visible.
"It's dark, we should leave," Jiang Yuyan said but the next moment that the place brightened up with few lights.
It shocked her and she looked around. On the other side of that single huge tree, there was light coming from. The tree was at the top of that tiny hilly region so the part on the other side was not visible because it was on the downside of the slope from the tree.
"What is it?" she asked.
"Why don't you see it for yourself?" Lu Lijun asked.
Jiang Yuyan walked towards the tree and Lu Lijun followed her closely behind to look after her if she trips on something.
Jiang Yuyan reached the tree and on the other side at the end of the mild slope, there was a beautifully decorated place that had a table and chair in the center. It had a dome-shaped shade made of off-white cloth, and parts of it hung down towards the floor at the square-shaped base which moved along the breeze. It had lamps hung to it with a series of tiny lights and candles lit everywhere. The table had candles and a few decorative things. In the dark, that small place with so many lights looked so attractive for one to be not able to take their eyes off of it.
Standing under the tree, Jiang Yuyan turned to look at him as she looked like having so many questions, "What is it for?"
"It's our wedding anniversary," Lu Lijun replied.
