Chapter 423 - Mu Sijue's Hunger

Mu Sijue calmly glanced at Xu Youning, not surprised at all.

“Someone must have told you about my injury. And you will certainly come here, right?”

Xu Youning felt embarrassed and asked, “Mu Sijue, what makes you think so highly of yourself? Why are you so narcissistic?”

Mu Sijue smiled and said, “Because you adore me.”

“…” Xu Youning wondered if there was any patient that was more annoying than Mu Sijue.

Xu Youning tried to choke down the urge to vent her anger on Mu Sijue, then she intentionally asked, “How many enemies do you have in Mexico?”

“I was shot by Kang Ruicheng’s men yesterday,” Mu Sijue said indifferently as if it was nothing, without looking at Xu Youning.

Xu Youning felt more nervous and said, “This is the second time he has wanted to kill you. Why?”

“Yesterday, I undercut him,” Mu Sijue said in an indifferent way, as if undercutting Kang Ruicheng was a piece of cake.

Xu Youning swallowed and said, “He could never imagine that you’d offer 120,000.”

Mu Sijue gave her a meaningful smile and said, “Actually, I offered less than 110,000.”

That was the key point. Xu Youning felt if her heart would jump out through her throat. “Why? 120,000 is enough to make us lose money!”

“Is she feeling sorry for Kang Ruicheng?” he thought.

Mu Sijue sneered in his mind and thought, “Well.”

He gave her a teasing smile and said, “I was told that Kang Ruicheng would offer less than 120,000. Now that he wanted to start a price war, I was glad to join him because I can afford the loss just as he can. Even in his dreams, he could have never imagined that he would lose if he offered such a shameful low price like 110,000.”

“…”

“…”

“Mr. Mu…” Xu Youning thought he was mad and asked, “If his offer of 110,000 is shameful, what can I say about your lower price?”

“The remark you used to say, that is—I have money to burn, right?” Mu Sijue looked at Xu Youning at leisure and asked, “Any comments?”

Xu Youning shook her head like a rattle, thinking, “How dare I make comments?

“But, is Mu Sijue telling the truth? Did he hear about Kang Ruicheng’s offer, or did he… take advantage of me?”

Xu Youning calmly watched Mu Sijue, thinking deeply.

If Mu Sijue was conscious of her real identity, he would guard himself against her. However, from Mu Sijue’s look at that moment, she didn’t see anything.

What’s more, he dared to take her home and sleep with her.

According to Mu Sijue’s usual style, once he found out that she was undercover, he would end her life right away or make her life a living hell. He was unlikely to accept her feelings for him, let alone build up intimacy with her. What he hated the most were lies and betrayal.

If so, maybe she was just feeling guilty and scaring herself. “Mu Sijue doesn’t know who I am, how could he take advantage of me to mislead Kang Ruicheng?” she thought.

Xu Youning temporarily calmed herself down, then she looked at Mu Sijue only to find that he didn’t pay attention to her at all. He was speaking fluent German on the phone. “Is there a batch of goods from Kang Ruicheng going through your channel to Poland tonight? … Nothing, do me a favor and sink the goods.”

After a pause, Mu Sijue turned his lips into a meaningful smile and said, “He started the war. Take it easy, you can say that I did it and you have nothing to do with it. He knows the rules and won’t give you a hard time.”

Hearing that, Xu Youning grabbed the bottom of her coat. As Mu Sijue glanced at her, she subconsciously relaxed her grip, trying to force a calm face. Then Mu Sijue said, “I’m hungry.”

“Oh.” Xu Youning was thinking about another thing.

Mu Sijue frowned in dissatisfaction and said, “Oh?”

Mu Sijue’s cold voice made Xu Youning come back to her senses. She stood up at once and gave him a flattering smile. “Ah, Mr. Mu. What do you want to eat? I’ll buy you some.”

“No.” Mu Sijue said, “There is a restaurant in the hospital. Ask the waiter to bring me some.”

Xu Youning did as he said. 10 minutes later, the waiter took the lunch there, which shocked Xu Youning—Mexican chicken rolls and corn pone.

There was something that Mu Sijue hated in the food. “He will kill me if he sees these!” she thought.

Xu Youning asked the restaurant to send her other food, and then they took a Mexican tortilla soup and roasted beef there. Although Mu Sijue didn’t hate them, they were not palatable to him. He took a single bite and asked Xu Youning to take them away.

Mu Sijue never kept what he hated because he didn’t want to see it. After throwing away the beef and the soup, Xu Youning tentatively asked, “Mr. Mu, may I get you some other food?”

“No.” With that, Mu Sijue made a call. The language he spoke on the phone sounded like Spanish, the official language of Mexico, which was new to Xu Youning. When he hung up, Xu Youning still didn’t understand a single word.

15 minutes later, Jie went into the ward with a plastic bag in hand, looking rather surprised. He said, “Mr. Mu, a Mexican sent this here and said that… you ordered it, right?”

The guys guarding the ward racked their brains but couldn’t figure out why Mu Sijue ordered that raw beef and green peppers.

Mu Sijue replied, “Oh,” then said, “Leave it here.”

The implied meaning in his words was “go away”. Jie put it down and quickly went out.

Xu Youning was surprised as well. She kicked the plastic bag and asked, “Mr. Mu, are you… going to eat raw food?”

Mu Sijue glared at Xu Youning and asked, “Do you think I’m a beast?”

Xu Youning shook her head at once and said, “Mr. Mu, you misunderstood me!”

While in her mind, there was little difference between Mu Sijue and a beast!

Mu Sijue gave her a softer look and said, “Whatever you do, I want the ingredients in the bag cooked in 30 minutes.”

Xu Youning realized that Mu Sijue was asking her to cook for him.

However, she had only been an assistant in the kitchen! She had never cooked!

Looking at Xu Youning’s embarrassed and hesitant face, Mu Sijue said, “You have 29 minutes left.”

“Mr. Mu…” Xu Youning gave him a crying look and asked, “Can I say that I can’t do it?”

Mu Sijue narrowed his eyes and said, “Of course you can.”

“…” Xu Youning couldn’t believe that Mu Sijue was so kind.

Then she heard Mu Sijue continued saying, “Only if you ‘satisfy my hunger’ in another way.”

It took Xu Youning a while to get Mu Sijue’s point. She gnawed her lips, thinking, “I’m open for business, not for sale.” Then she picked up the bag and said, “I’ll cook!”

Xu Youning would not dare to deliberately make dishes that were unpalatable or laced with poison, because Mu Sijue could see through her. If she dared to do that, she would have to feed him as well as satisfy his desire.

The kitchen in the ward was well-equipped. Xu Youning rinsed the rice to cook it, then she washed and cut the ingredients.

She had been her grandmother’s assistant in the kitchen since she was a kid, so she was skilled at washing and cutting the ingredients, so it didn’t take long before she finished preparing to cook.

What was difficult for her was the cooking. But fortunately, she had seen it since she was a kid so she didn’t act with confusion.

The first dish was stir-fried beef with green peppers, which was the easiest for her. The dish didn’t look appealing and tasted light, while in Xu Youning eyes, it didn’t look terrible and was edible.

The second dish was boiled cabbage, and the third one was several fried eggs, followed by a soup cooked with needle mushrooms and lean meat. After more than an hour, Xu Youning took the three dishes and the soup to Mu Sijue.

Mu Sijue lay on the bed watching Xu Youning bustling around.

In fact, it was beyond his expectation that Xu Youning could manage to cook those dishes for him.

He knew that Xu Youning’s only cooking skill was boiling water, and he had wanted to embarrass her. What’s more, he had intentionally said in front of her that he wanted to sink Kang Ruicheng’s goods.

He had expected Xu Youning to be as restless as an ant on a hot pan with a helpless look on her face.

“But, did I fail?” Mu Sijue thought.

Xu Youning didn’t notice what Mu Sijue was thinking. Since he couldn’t use his left hand, she took him a pair of chopsticks and a soup spoon, as well as a bowl of soup. Then she sat by the bed and took a bite of the boiled cabbage.

However, she grimaced at once.

She coughed and had a glass of water. “Mr. Mu, you’d better not eat this dish.”

The beef tasted light so she added much more salt in the cabbage, without expecting it to be that salty.

What was more unexpected was that Mu Sijue firstly tasted the cabbage. Xu Youning had thought that he might overturn the table and ask her to redo it. To her surprise, he ate it without a word.

That gave Xu Youning a wonderful illusion—”Maybe the dishes are not bad.”

While Mu Sijue couldn’t believe that he had eaten these things—the overcooked beef, the burnt fried eggs, the salty cabbage, and the light soup, which tasted like oily boiled water.

It was the most unpleasant meal he had ever eaten. It was even more disgusting than the roasted beef and corn pone that the restaurant had just sent.

However, he ate them all. And he dared not tell her that he had a unique feeling for those dishes.

Maybe the feeling had something to do with Xu Youning.

Xu Youning didn’t enjoy the meal. As soon as she felt full, she laid down her chopsticks. Then she looked at Mu Sijue in bewilderment and asked, “Mr. Mu, how are you able to finish your meal?”

Mu Sijue didn’t answer her but asked, “What do you think?”

Xu Youning blurted out, “Because you’re starving. Hungry dogs will eat dirty pudding, right?”

Mu Sijue clenched his fist and tried his best to resist the impulse to strike Xu Youning’s head with the chopsticks in his hand.

He gave her a meaningful smile and said, “You got it.”

Meanwhile, Xu Youning was serious as she said, “Well, let me search for some good Chinese restaurants nearby. Maybe we can ask them to prepare lunches and dinners for us…”

Mu Sijue took Xu Youning’s cellphone from her hand and locked it in the bedside cupboard, then he said, “From now on, you have to cook lunches and dinners for me.”

“Why?” Xu Youning widened her eyes and asked, “Don’t you think it’s disgusting?”

“That’s OK.” Mu Sijue seemed to not care about it at all and said, “I’m the hungry dog that will eat dirty pudding.”
