Chapter 91 - Fifty Of Each!

Hours passed, it was almost two am when a doctor came out to talk with Little Bo. Little Bo was very nervous as the doctor walked over to her. She had no idea whether it would be good news or bad news. All she could hope for was the better of the two outcomes. Little Bo gripped Shen Li's hand as the doctor finally came and stood in front of her.

"Miss Bo, This operation was very difficult. The surgeon that you sent for did the best he could. The tumor had made its way into your mother's spinal cord making the removal process very difficult. We were able to fully remove the tumor. But it is hard to tell if any scraps of cells were left behind within the spinal cord. We also will not know to what extent your mother's mobility will be. She will also need to stay in the hospital for a few months for observation. If we see any signs of the tumor coming back we will need to bring her back in to remove it." The doctor explained.  There was a look of exhaustion on his face. You could tell the operation was very long and grueling.

"I see… There might be a chance for the tumor to come back?" Little Bo was worried if the tumor came back wouldn't her mother be in pain again?

"Yes, there is a slim chance of it regrowing. But this is not unheard of. It happens when a tumor grows in places where it is hard to remove. Where it had grown into your mother's spinal cord it turned the process into one of the, hard to remove situations." The doctor let out a long sigh. This was one of the things he hated when dealing with patient's families. Bad news will always be bad news.

"Doctor, what are the chances of it growing back?" Shen Li spoke up when he saw Little Bo lost in thought.

"From all the x-rays we took, it does indeed look like we got rid of it all. But in your mother's case, there is a thirty percent chance of it returning. Even if one cell is left behind it can grow back into a new tumor. That is why we always tell patients that there is a ten percent chance of it regrowing. It is just that your mother's situation is different because of the area it was in. That is why the percentage chance of regrowing is higher. " Shen Li nodded his head. The doctor's explanation was reasonable. He himself had heard that even after removing a tumor they do sometimes grow back because of a missed cell.

"Can I see my mother?" Little Bo's eyes were starting to well up in tears. 

"Yes, of course, Miss Bo. Your mother has already been brought back to her room." The doctor motioned with his hand to follow as he led the way.

When they got to Bo Ling's VIP room, Shen Li immediately pushed Little Bo to her bedside. His heart broke when he saw the sad look on his little wife's face. He leaned down and kissed the top of Little Bo's head before saying: "Ru'er I will step out for a moment to call Cousin and Sister in Law to tell them mom is out of surgery" 

Little Bo wiped the tears in her eyes as she nodded her head. She reached out and held Bo Ling's hand. After Shen Li left the room tears rolled down Little Bo's cheek again. Little Bo wished there was more she could do. "Mom… No matter what happens. Your Little Bo will always take care of you. You have suffered so much over the years raising me. There is no way for me to repay you for everything you have done for me. I have… I have always known that I was not your real daughter… When I was young I once heard you talking to someone about it. So I have known for a long time. But not once did I care whether I was blood-related to you or not. You have treated me like a real daughter since the day you found me… You are and will always be the one and only mom in my life. I know I should be saying this when you are awake and this is probably unfair to you since you can't hear what I am saying. But no matter what… As your daughter I will do whatever I can to support you from now on."

Shen Li had long since entered the room after he called Shen Xing. So he had heard everything Little Bo had just said. He couldn't help but feel sad. Such a woman raised a child that was not blood-related to her with such care and sacrifice. His mother in law was the image of what a perfect mom should be. He walked up to Little Bo and gave her a hug from behind. Little Bo was startled at first but soon calmed down.

"Li'er you heard right?" Little Bo placed her hand on top of his. Her eyes showed a hint of worry. 

"Un… Ru'er your background and where you come from means nothing to me. You are my wife and I will always love you no matter what. I hope in the future we have tons of kids and live a happy life together." Shen Li shifted his body so he could lean over and give Little Bo a kiss on the lips. 

Shen Li's words made Little Bo blush. She looked up at his handsome face and said: "What do you mean tons of kids… How many do you want?" 

"Fifty of each!" Shen  Li said with a smile. But this made Little Bo blush even more. 

She lowered her head as she whispered: "I'll do my best..." The more she thought about it the redder her face became. She couldn't help but think: ' If he wants fifty of each, I do not think I will be able to leave the bedroom for a while... '
