Chapter 138 - Qin Mei’s Funeral

A week passed and today was the day that the funeral was going to be held. Lin Xiaoxiao was doing her best to keep it together. She had to stay strong for Minmin who had not stopped crying since the funeral began. People who were attending were all close family. Grandpa and Grandma Shen, Shen Li, Little Bo, Bo Ling, Minmin, Shen Xing and of course Han Da. It seemed that Qin Mei did not have any close family. She had never spoken anything about her family. So Lin Xiaoxiao had no one to contact besides those that she already knew Qin Mei was close to.

Lin Xiaoxiao stood up in front of everyone and looked out over the few people who were there. "I Shen Lily Xiaoxiao was blessed to have a foster mother named Qin Mei. When I first woke up and found myself in a hospital not knowing where I was or what was going on. All I knew was that if my blood related family knew I was awake, that I would be dragged back to a life full of torture and slavery.  The nurse who was attending to me heard my cry for help and helped me escape such a life and gave me a brand new life. A new name, a new family. To me, Qin Mei was more than just a mother but also my best friend. I could confide in her about anything. Sometimes she would scold me and sometimes she would praise me. She was truly a mother worth praising.

"She took me, a girl who had nothing but troubles to her name and called me her daughter. She cared for me as if I was truly blood related to her. It was not just me that she took in, Little Min, my little sister was also taken in by her. She gave us sisters a lifeline that we could rely on. She risked so much for my sister and me that we would have never been able to pay her back in this lifetime and now, because of the actions of a certain person, we will never be able to even attempt to pay her back. I have lost a part of me, an important part of me.

"There is a saying that a mother is a god in the eyes of a child. This saying could not be any more true than that. My mother was strong, caring, and would do anything for those who were in trouble. I loved her dearly and I will always miss her. Hell, I was hoping she could find a good man and settle down someday. But now that will never happen. Mother, I, your daughter will hold you forever in my memory and my heart and  I hope that in your next life you will find true happiness!" Tears started to flow from Lin Xiaoxiao's eyes.

Shen Xing quickly went over to comfort her and help her top her seat. After she sat down Little Bo went and stood in front of everyone. "Aunty Mei was my family's life savior. She helped me and my mother in our time of need and assisted us through some of our roughest times. When we were being hounded by loan sharks it was Aunty Mei who came and helped us and even paid our debt for us. She was someone I looked up to. She will be greatly missed." Little Bo could not hold in her tears and broke down crying. Shen Li escorted her back to her seat while Minmin stood up, wiped her tears  and walked in front of everyone.

"Some of you might not know me. My name is Qin Min.  I grew up as an orphan, I had been through some horrible situations growing up. But I survived them all and to continue to survive I started singing on the street to try to make enough money to eat. I was discovered by an agency and started my solo career as an idol. My career took off and I made lots of money but I was still alone. No friends, no family, just a maid that I hired to help me keep my house clean. I then got a spot in a movie which is where I met my Big Sister. At that time  I am sure I annoyed her like no tomorrow but she still accepted me for me. My infatuation with her went a little overboard but she was my one and only true friend.

"That was also the first time that I met my mother. She was Big Sister's manager and even on the first day, I met her she was very nice. I felt a little envious that Big Sister had a mother who was able to be with her all the time. Because of my envy and also because of my own poor upbringing and not having been taught properly I ended up getting myself kidnapped. I went through hell and ended up having age regression to escape the reality of the incident. I was lucky enough to at least have kept my purity during that incident. But not all bad things stay bad. Because of that incident Qin Mei, my mother took me in as her daughter. She gave me a real last name something I have never had before. She cared for me and taught me many things. One of those things was the warmth of a family. Not only did I gain a mother but I also gained a big sister who loved and cared for me as well.

" I, unfortunately, did not get to spend much time with my mother but the things she did teach me and the warmth she gave me will always be with me in my body and soul. I will say here and now that I promise to live my life to the fullest just like how she would have wanted me to. Mom, I will always miss and love you!" Minmin wiped her tears again and walked over to where Linx Xiaoxiao was sitting and sat next to her before burying her face into Lin Xiaoxiao's chest letting her tears flow out non stop.

This was a day of sadness. Mourning the loss of Qin Mei who had touched the hearts of many. She had helped so many and died so young when she protected her daughter from some lunatic who tried to kill her. Her actions and things she has done for those in need will always be remembered deep within their hearts.
