Gu Wei found his mobile phone under the bed. He forgot to charge his mobile phone before going to bed yesterday, and now the battery was dead.

Gu Wei connected the charging cable to the port, then he went out of his room to wash up.

As he walked outside, he greeted his groupmates with a drowsy, “morning.”

In the living room, there were two people sitting on the sofa and two people lying on their stomachs. The moment they heard Gu Wei greeting them, they all collectively turned their heads.

“Why do you look at me with that kind of look?” Gu Wei was a little confused about the situation, “did I sleep so hard until I was unrecognizable?”

Only one night passed, and yet his groupmates smiled at him with an admiring look on their face.

He was just a dancer for a boygroup, what did he do to gain that kind of admiration from these four boys?

“Didi, have you seen today’s Weibo hot search?” Shi Xinyan asked.

“My phone is out of battery and turned off,” Gu Wei said, “am I being scolded again?”

It shouldn’t be… right? He had been nothing but an honest citizen recently, neither grabbing the C position in his latest performance nor provoking his nemesis.

The other four idols shook their heads.

Gu Wei: “it’s something even worse than that?”

The other four idols shook their heads again.

“Then it’s not a big problem,” Gu Wei said, “I’m going to wash up now. I have a schedule so I need to go to the airport soon.”

Given that he was often scolded by his anti-fans on hot searches, Gu Wei no longer had much interest in keeping up with the current trends on Weibo.

Chi Yunkai and Shi Xinyan, who had been holding back all night and were still honorably injured, finally couldn’t help it. “Didi, let’s take a look at the hot search.”

“My phone is still charging.” Gu Wei spread his hands, shrugging helplessly.

“Look at mine instead then.” Chi Yunkai offered his phone.

Gu Wei stopped and turned his gaze to Chi Yunkai’s cell phone.

Gu Wei: “?”

What was so interesting about this? The idol filters1rose-colored glasses basically of these four Jiang Xun fans were too thick. It was fine had they only followed the tournaments, but they even followed their God’s hot searches too?

He was not a Jiang Xun’s fan, so why must he look at the reaction meme’s hot searches? It was a waste of time.

“What do you think?” Chi Yunkai rubbed his hands as if he was looking forward to Gu Wei’s answer.

Gu Wei replied, “as expected of Big Rogue Jiang, even petty things like loneliness can trend on Weibo too.”

Such a high profile was indeed the style of this reaction meme.

Gu Wei admired him, truly.

Chi Yunkai: “…”

Shi Xinyan: “…”

Gu Wei spared no more effort to look at Weibo, and left them to attend his morning bathroom routine. The remaining four members of the boygroup looked at each other, communicating through sheer looks of tacit understanding and telepathy for a moment.

“Did he dig that black history  on purpose?” Luo Chenxuan whispered softly.

“I don’t think so,” Fu Zhi shook his head while holding the big tea mug.

Since they couldn’t figure out what actually went down last night, everyone could only share their own conspiracy theories and guesses.

Gu Wei and Shi Xinyan were going to film a variety show, and the remaining three people also had their own solo gigs to attend. After breakfast, they dispersed. Gu Wei and Shi Xinyan took their luggage and headed to the airport.

On the plane, Gu Wei held the script of “Like the Moon” and felt that Shi Xinyan beside him was a little restless.

Shi Xinyan seemed a little hesitant to speak, and the look on his eyes were telling.

“Do you have anything to say to me?” Gu Wei proactively asked.

Shi Xinyan answered suspiciously hastily, “nothing! Nope, nil, nada, zilch! My butt hurts, it got scalded yesterday.”

Gu Wei: “?How?”

“Why don’t you… look at the hot search again?” Shi Xinyan suggested as persuasive as could.

Gu Wei: “???”

What’s wrong with these people today?

What’s the big deal with that hot search?

The country’s stock market plummeted to zero?

Climate changed so harshly that it’s suddenly winter?

T.ATW was… disbanding???

The plane landed at the airport in Y City, and there were many fans who knew their itinerary came to pick them up. The fanclub members were organized in an orderly manner, and everyone abided by the rules. Gu Wei smiled at the cameras his fans brought.

“Weiwei, see the hot search!” Someone in the crowd shouted.

Immediately afterwards, people followed along and repeated,: “Weiwei, see the hot search!”

Gu Wei: “…??”

What day was today? Seriously, what in the world happened? Why were everyone asking him to see Weibo’s hot searches?

Even the young lady at the airport security check, who seemed to recognize him as Gu Wei, suppressed a laugh and whispered something to him about the hot searches.

“Okay, okay. Fine, I’ll check it.” Gu Wei waved to his fans, then called them in a good-natured fashion,  “don’t worry about me! Everyone be careful on the way home!”

“We’re worried!” The fans were anxious.

As soon as Gu Wei got into the nanny car sent by the show’s crew, he turned on his cell phone. After a brief waiting on the booting up screen, the mobile phone reconnected to the internet, and four messages popped up first, all sent last night.

The first message.

[Manager Zhao]: Well done.

Gu Wei was puzzled. What did he do? Why is it well done?

The second message came from his fellow groupmate Chi Yunkai.

[Yunkai Sees Mooncakes]: Are you asleep? Are you asleep? Are you there? Weiwei is not there? Okay, I’ll ask you later.

[Yunkai Sees Mooncakes]: Huh huh.

Gu Wei was baffled. Chi Yunkai stayed up last night to send him a WeChat message? How important was it that he had to contact him that late? On top of that, Chi Yunkai didn’t even mention it to him in the morning.

The third message came from… an acquaintance.

[One Hundred Thousand Volts]: See you tomorrow.

Gu Wei was confused.

See you what?

Didn’t their engagement have been called off? Gu Wei was now busy with this variety show recording, so he didn’t have time to chat with this hooligan.

Last but not least, the fourth message came from his nemesis.

[Big-Clawed Crab]: You are a worthy nemesis.

Gu Wei had no fucking idea what’s going on at this point.

What the fuck happened, to the point of his nemesis contacted him while acting weird?

He left the four baffling WeChat messages on read. Finally, he psyched himself to actually check what’s going down on Weibo hot search that everyone was raving about.

The first thing that caught his eye was the hot search that he had seen this morning.

The previous messages he read just now were scrolling in Gu Wei’s mind, and suddenly he heard an alarm bell ringing in his head—

He remembered that before going to bed yesterday, he scoured through Jiang Xun’s Weibo history. Because of his newest role, he went to dig deep and see basically the entirety of his posts… before falling asleep in the middle of doing that.

He was consumed in disbelief, and clicked on the hot search that seemed to have nothing to do with him. But karma was real, so he saw his familiar Weibo ID, as well as the… ten-years-old post he… liked.

Gu Wei: “…”

Gu Wei: “………..”

It’s over.

He’s dead.

This shitshow had something to do with him.

Being a Weibo archaeologist was cool for a while. The more he scrolled down, the more fun he felt. That was, until he fell asleep yesterday, with his fingers still on the screen of the phone.

His invincible right hand.

If he apologized now… it’s too late.

According to his understanding of Jiang Xun’s personality, that Big Rogue definitely had thought of countless ways to retaliate and bully him for this.

A whole night had passed, and everyone in China now knew that Jiang Xun, the world champion, wandered alone in loneliness at night, ten years ago.

Netizens have eaten this big, fat, juicy melon for several rounds, and the anti-fans had already fought bloody feuds in order to slander him for this mistake. Now they were all waiting to see how the two parties planned to respond.

The variety show had already started recording since he got into the car. At this moment, the director had a conspiratorial smile at the two guests in the car, “hand over your phone, the show is about to start.”

“Great! I like variety shows so much.” Gu Wei said with a cheerful, saccharine tone. He held the director’s hand with both hands and shook it enthusiastically. He was very cooperative and handed over the phone immediately.

This was not an escape. This was a useful, strategic retreat. From reality.

For the first time since Gu Wei’s debut, he found variety shows oh-so very interesting.

No matter how violent the storm was, he could finish filming this variety show, and then became a hermit from all social media for two days.

No matter how fierce Jiang Xun was, he couldn’t just stroll in and beat him up today.

Yeah, he probably would just scold him over on WeChat.

Having seen Jiang Xun’s Weibo from ten years ago, Gu Wei felt that he had nothing to fear.

(Famous last words)

Oh honey, you’ve got a big storm comin’
