Chapter 564: First Visit To The Immortal Belvedere (2)
After leaving the grand hall, a deep, resonant voice suddenly echoed within the chamber, "Master, do you truly intend to give this youngster a portion of the Fire Divine Gorge Brew? You only obtained a small amount after a desperate battle beyond the universe. Even most of your direct disciples haven't received such a gift."
The voice continued, tinged with concern, "This Ming Jian, despite his extraordinary talent, is still too young and inexperienced. The chances of him reaching his full potential are slim. Using it on him might be wasteful."
Talent? The immortal path was treacherous and filled with obstacles. How many monstrous prodigies had fallen along the way? Super powerhouses often hesitated to expend precious resources on disciples who were still in the early phases of cultivation.
"I understand," Immortal Sovereign Bei You replied with a calm, measured tone. "Think of this Fire Divine Gorge Brew as my compensation to his Master. I owe much to Dong Yang, and his departure is fraught with uncertainty."
Bei You gazed into the distance, lost in thought. "I can see that his only true concern is his disciple. Consider it a gesture from me, as his Master."
A moment of silence hung in the air before Bei You spoke again, "Go and get it done."
"As you wish," the deep voice responded before falling silent, its presence retreating from the grand hall.
...
Outside the hall, Astral Monarch Huo Cang's voice cut through the air with a mix of surprise and admiration, "Oh? He bestowed you a portion of the Fire Divine Gorge Brew? Not bad, Ming Jian. It seems your grandmaster thinks highly of you. You must work hard."
Sword Immortal Dong Yang looked equally surprised, his gaze shifting to Wu Yuan.
Wu Yuan, however, was bewildered. He had been focused on the ‘Compendium of the Law of Space’, but now from Astral Monarch Huo Cang's reaction, this mysterious 'Fire Divine Gorge Brew' seemed even more precious and mystical?
"Silly boy," Sword Immortal Dong Yang smiled, noticing the confusion on Wu Yuan's face. "That inheritance is indeed valuable. In the entire macrocosm, only our Master could casually hand it out. Even other Sovereigns would struggle to do so.
Moreover, Disciple, you must understand this: the Dao cannot be imparted lightly.
The act of imparting teachings incurs karma. The more powerful the methodology taught, the more terrifying the karmic backlash can be. That's why even Eldritch Sovereigns rarely take on disciples over the long years.
Your Grandmaster, though he appears to accept many disciples, only takes on one every few tens of thousands of years on average." Sword Immortal Dong Yang explained.
Wu Yuan nodded slightly.
"However, no matter how precious this inheritance is, all of us second-generation disciples possess it. Yet, how many have truly broken through?" Sword Immortal Dong Yang sighed. "Barely one in a hundred can grasp even a single Intermediate Law of Space. In the end, success depends on oneself.
The Fire Divine Gorge Brew, on the other hand, is an incredibly precious treasure. Even Sovereigns find it somewhat useful, and for us, it's a great treasure. For you, it's practically priceless, beyond quantifying in divine crystals," Sword Immortal Dong Yang's smile returned. "Even consuming a small amount will subtly transform you.
When you reach the Immortal Belvedere, work hard. Don't disappoint your Grandmaster's expectations."
"Yes," Wu Yuan nodded solemnly. He could feel his Master's care and concern.
"Junior Brother, let's go see Master. You'll have plenty of time later to chat with your disciple," Astral Monarch Huo Cang said with a teasing smile.
"Alright. Ming Jian, wait here. I'll be back shortly," Sword Immortal Dong Yang said, his smile gentle and reassuring.
Wu Yuan nodded, waiting outside the hall.
...
Wu Yuan didn't have to wait long. In less than a quarter-hour, Astral Monarch Huo Cang and Sword Immortal Dong Yang emerged from the grand hall.
The man was Archimmortal Long Xing, the founder of the Dragon Star Immortal Sect, and a being whose power rivaled that of an Astral Lord.
"That's absolutely unacceptable," Sword Immortal Dong Yang quickly interjected, his tone firm. "No matter how amazing Li Xia's talent or strength, he remains a member of our sect. We must not neglect proper etiquette."
Archimmortal Long Xing smiled, a hint of helplessness in his expression.
Wu Yuan stood quietly, taking everything in. It was clear that his master held an extremely high position within the Dragon Star Immortal Sect, perhaps even on par with the Immortal Ancestor himself.
"Immortal Ancestor," Sword Immortal Dong Yang continued, "Li Xia is currently cultivating in the Bei You Realm. When his cultivation bears fruit, he will certainly return to the sect. At that time, if he makes any mistakes, please guide him."
"Guide? I'll certainly do my best to assist him," Archimmortal Long Xing smiled warmly.
"Abbot, Li Xia's identity needs to be kept secret for now. I'll have to trouble you with this matter," Sword Immortal Dong Yang said, his tone serious.
"Haha, rest assured," Abbot Wu smiled, turning to Wu Yuan with a twinkle in his eye. "Li Xia, from now on, you're a special veteran elder of our sect, ranking above all other elders. If there's anything the sect can do for you, just let me know."
Special veteran elder? Wu Yuan nodded slightly, not placing much importance on the title. It was just an elder position, nothing significant.
He understood his master's intentions. Though he lacked strength, his status and potential already placed him among the highest echelons of the Dragon Star Immortal Sect.
As time passed, the group continued their conversation, exchanging information and forging connections. Wu Yuan also exchanged contact details with Abbot Wu and Archimmortal Long Xing.
...
As the four conversed within the immortal voidrealm, Sword Immortal Dong Yang simultaneously rode a cloud, leisurely flying above the Bei You Mountains with Wu Yuan in tow.
"Archimmortal Long Xing possesses the strength of an Astral Lord. However, he was previously a loose cultivator without backing, so he's always kept a low profile. His straightforward nature has led him to roam other immortal nations and dangerous lands for years," Sword Immortal Dong Yang explained to Wu Yuan. "His fame is rather modest."
Wu Yuan nodded slightly. Even with the power of an Astral Lord, Long Xing didn’t claim a particularly vast territory. Indeed, he was quite low-key.
"As for Abbot Wu, he's young but already a Fourth Tribulation High Immortal. He's considered the most promising candidate to become an Archimmortal in this generation of the sect," Sword Immortal Dong Yang continued. "By introducing you to the two of them, I’m placing a responsibility on your shoulders. I hope you won't resent me for this."
Wu Yuan was momentarily taken aback. Responsibility?
"Years ago, I had no intention of taking on a disciple, but by chance, I saw potential in you.
Your rapid growth has brought me great joy," Sword Immortal Dong Yang smiled, his eyes filled with pride. "I originally thought it would take you over a thousand years to mature, but now it seems you no longer need my guidance.
Thus, it's time for me to seek my own path."
Wu Yuan listened intently, a mixture of emotions swirling within him.
"I'm about to leave the Greenridge Macrocosm to venture into an incredibly distant realm," Sword Immortal Dong Yang gazed at Wu Yuan, his voice tinged with emotion. "It's fraught with danger, with an extremely high chance of death."
