CH.120 Do 14 cards make a deck?
Mmm.. I woke up and stretched. I slept pretty well considering the sleeping ... place. I can’t really say the sleeping situation, as I do have a nice bed to sleep on, but it is located in a dungeon.
I got up from bed, changed clothes and did my other morning business. Is it even morning anymore? Well, that doesn’t matter. Thankfully I analyzed things like the magic toilet back at the manor. They definitely make the core room seem more like a hotel room than a cave.
(If you actually want to know, it’s 10:03 am.) Laura told me.
(Well, I guess knowing doesn’t hurt.) I commented before moving towards the couches situated around the core.
“Good morning.” I said to Christina, Aneesa and Sana. Apparently, Sana had woken up before I did. Well then again, she did go to sleep earlier as well.
“““Good morning.””” The three of them responded.
I sat down next to Christina and basically as soon as I did, Aneesa poured me a cup of tea. Sana had also moved to make breakfast for me. These maids are still overspeced. Now I just want to know how OP are the maids in a Dukal house or the castle. Perhaps they are all super-powered combat maids that take down A-rank monsters like they were goblins.
... okay, That might be a bit much. Even St. Joan and Dark Magician couldn’t one shot a lava golem and according to Laura that golem was B-rank. So someone who can cut down A-rank monsters like they were goblins would need to be insanely powerful.
“Did anything happen while I slept?” I asked Christina.
“No. It’s been peaceful.” She answered. “I also made the final preparations so we can leave after lunch.”
“Oh. So the dungeon is ready to be opened?” I confirmed.
“Yes. We will still have to keep an eye on it, but I believe it is good to go.” She told me.
“Good. Mind if I check it out?” I asked.
“Not at all. Make sure I didn’t leave any mistakes.” Christina said.

Even with the power of a dungeon founder, I can’t control everything. The large thing I can’t control is the spawning of monsters. That can honestly lead to some dangerous situations like with the earth/lava golem, but that is something the adventurers will have to accept.
The main thing dungeon masters, and founder, are responsible for are the dungeon ‘drop points’. Well, they are more akin to trade points, but close enough.
The main drops we used for the early floors were cardboard, and the different fabrics. You could also get cardboard boxes and ready-made clothes, but the drop-points for those were at the end of side rooms, so adventurers would need to do extra work for them.
The dungeon had also added new clothing options for the ones available. Simple dresses and long sleeved shirts made of tricot. A denim jacket. And some cotton ... underwear, for females. Yeah. I’m going to leave it at that. Where did the dungeon learn about things like that?
On the later floors, things like magic bags and magic flasks were available. Even monster cores of E to C-rank could be gotten. As well one of those bracelets that could hold a magic stone. Why is the dungeon learning this much on its own? Is it because I installed Labyrinth Wall into the core? Perhaps that gave the dungeon more purpose and now it’s trying to impress me.
Well that all looks fine to me. Last thing I checked was the safe areas and the healing areas. Sadly, the healing areas took up a lot of mana, so we could only have a few of them. Christina decided to place them on floors 2, 4 and 6. At least the monster free zones weren’t that mana hungry so we could have some on each floor.
“I think it’s fine. Nice work.” I complimented Christina. She had thought about basically everything.
“Thank you. I’ll be making adjustments as adventurers come over, but there likely won’t be a need for any major changes.” She said.
“Well, that’s good. By the way, can you make mithril swords now?” I asked about the thing that caused her to fight against the lava golem.
“Yes, I can. Perhaps the lava golem really was a test and I passed it.” She answered.
“Well that’s good.” At least she didn’t risk her life for nothing.
“Oh, and here are your cards.” She said as she gave St. Joan and Dark Magician back to me.
“Thanks. I should probably work on your deck now, so you can make a relationship with the cards you do have.” I told her, but then I remembered that one card I got. “But first I want to try something. Please bring your terminal next to mine.” I told her as I pulled up my sleeve to reveal my founder’s terminal.
Christina seemed confused for a second as to what terminal I was talking about, but as soon as I revealed mine, she realized what I was after. Th.ê most uptodate novels are published on n(0)velbj)n(.)co/m
Exchange link established between the Founder’s Terminal of Brian Wood and Master’s Terminal of Christina Watchman. Transfer of small items between the terminals is now possible.
(130 sacrifices for 26 sleeves. Is this fine?) Laura offered.
(... yes. Hopefully that will be enough.) I responded.
130? That’s a ton of cards. But I do need these sleeves.
Now. First things first. Emblem of Dragon Destroyer. That thing needs a toploader. Daily access to Buster Blader is just that good. And it will pay for itself in like 25 days. Not like that is super fast though. Pot of Greed pays for itself in just 2.
I give Laura a second to put the sleeve and toploader on it, before pulling it out of collection and activating it.
“I activate Emblem of Dragon Destroyer.” I said quietly.
The spell shone lightly, before the new card appeared on top of it.
My new Buster Blader. I looked over the card and it’s set number was DL1-002. I recall that meaning a Duelist League promo.
I then moved the Buster Blader out of the way to see the grayed out spell underneath it. So it did go on cooldown normally. I need to add activating this to the daily routine with activating Upstart. I haven’t been activating Upstart Goblin while we’ve been in the dungeon, as I’m not sure how legal it actually is.
“... well, now I need a sleeve for this as well.” I muttered. So much sleeve usage. Never enough sleeves.
I pulled out a sleeve and slid the new Buster Blader into it. I can get another one for myself tomorrow, so this is going to Christina. It shall be her boss monster. I also sleeved three Amazoness Fighters, three Paladins, and one Archer and Tiger. Another 8 sleeves used. I only have 12 left.
Then a toploader for Amazoness Spellcaster. That’s another 5 sleeves. 7 left.
For the birds, sleeves were going on Roc from the Valley of Haze, Eagle Eye and Cyber Falcon. 4 Sleeves left.
Then the cute one. Cat's Ear Tribe. Christina said she wanted it as well, so I’ll deliver.
3 sleeves left. But I think that is all for now. The guillotine thing can’t be done today, as I don’t have enough sleeves for a toploader.
I collected the 14 cards into a pile. I can’t exactly call it a deck, but it will work for now. I’ll make it better as I get some more sleeves. Well, the monster lineup isn’t exactly bad for the rules we play under, so all this ‘deck’ really needs is some more spells and traps.
“Here you go. I’m done with them for now.” I told Christina.
“Thank you Brian.” She said as she received the deck.
“I should also warn you. The cards have a longer cooldown than the one Alice has. You can only summon the monsters from them once per day.” I told her.
It’s not quite true, but close enough.
“Ah, I see. That’s too bad.” She said as she was looking at the Cat’s Ear Tribe.
“I might be able to upgrade them later, but I can’t at the moment.” I told her.
Well, I could, but I already sacked 130 cards for her. She can wait for her toploaders.
“I don’t remember these two from yesterday.” Christina commented on Cyber Falcon and Buster Blader.
“Well, I just noticed them and thought they would be good for you. Buster Blader is there instead of Big Koala to be your strongest monster and Cyber Falcon is just another monster that can fly.” I told her. “I will also give you an Overdrive at some point before I leave, but I still need another card to combo with it.” And perhaps a Gradius as well, but I need to test fly one first.
“I see. Thank you for this. This will be a huge help.” Christina said.
“Nothing but the best for my dungeon master.” I responded.
“Oh. You shouldn’t tease me like that. I might do something you don’t like.” Christina looked at me with the eyes of a predator.
“You say things like that and call me the teaser. Ironic, isn’t it?”
