Now that my meeting with the King was done, the metaphorical floodgates opened. Floodgates for what, I know you are asking. Well, the floodgates to invite me to different kinds of parties, be it tea parties or evening parties. Realizing just how many invites I got in the first two days after my meeting with the King really made me appreciate the rule that no one was allowed to invite me before I met with the King.

Now most of the invites were either from honorary nobles like myself, which I could easily just refuse, or low ranking nobles like barons, which again, I could just refuse. But there were also those coming from some of the higher ranked families, especially families whose members had been in the throne room when I met the King. Sure the person who was there might not have been the head, but when the second son of a marquess or a duke invites you to their house, an honorary baron such as myself has to come up with one heck of an excuse to not go.

Thankfully I only had two of those, so I’ll only have to suffer a little bit. Though Cressida did recommend that I hold a party of my own, not the HomeBase party, just one on the ground using the Sawyer capital manor, to boost my image a bit more. There are still some rumors about me floating about, and that might help me clear up my image. Not that I really care, but PR is something necessary.

But back to the two that I actually had to attend. One was a luncheon with Duke Cline, the prime minister. The other was Marquess Gallos and he was the captain of the Royal Knights. He had also asked me to bring Alice with me.

Don’t know why both of the high ranked people that invited me had to have special positions on top of everything, but I guess this is my life now. And of course because it is customary, I need to prepare some sort of gifts for them. And that is on top of the gifts I promised I’d give to Elias and the first Prince. So to Wilma it is.

“... Is this one of those ‘no pressure’ situations you always complain about?” Wilma asked, when I filled her in.

“Pretty much, yeah.” I confirmed. “So, any immediate ideas?”

“... Well, for His Highness the first Prince, you did say that he might prefer a sword cane, right?”

“That is what the second Prince told me.” I confirmed.

“We could maybe use a large bone from the Fenrir to make the cane part. Then maybe a sword with a blade made of vampiric steel, as that keeps itself free of blood. Use a bit of the paw pads at the bottom of the cane to make sure it is soft and ...”

I listened for a while, as Wilma ran through her entire plan for the sword cane. It sounded ... reasonable. Especially if I add an install to the sword itself, actually maybe one install to the sword and one to the cane part.

Yeah. And I think I just got a great idea on what I can use for the cane part. And if I add that card to the sword itself, I’ll make a real anti-mage sword cane.

“Okay. Next up, Elias.”

“... I still question how you got on a first name basis with the second Prince.”

“Don’t know, don’t care. Maybe letting him ride one of my dragons helped.”

“Did he ask for anything specific?” Wilma asked.

“No. He left it up to me. ... which really doesn’t help.”

I then used some of the tech I’ve learned from working with my trap cards to make the effect auto activate if the mantle senses any real danger, like incoming arrows or sword strikes. I almost added magic, but Mist Body won’t actually make you immune to any magic, even if it is magic that makes arrow-like projectiles.

With that idea in the books, I just had Laura estimate the measurements of Elias, and then I sent all that info to Wilma’s Factory workshop. From there, she can design the mantle.

For myself, I think it is training time again. I’ve had enough designing items for one day.

Today’s training was nothing special, again. It really is just the same basic, and some more advanced, stuff repeated over and over again. But in a way, that is what makes it ... good. I was going to say fun, but I’m not sure that is the correct word. I mean, even if I do basic things, I still feel my sword swings getting sharper, my shield blocks getting faster, my magic getting more powerful and so on. And today, I even had a new skill to show for it.

Firstly, the Time Magic had appeared on my status. I’ve been able to use it for a bit of time, but it wasn’t always 100% reliable, but now I had the skill, and the reliability was around 99%, so I no longer accidentally slowed myself down, when I was trying to accelerate my speed. And having the skill means that I can level it up.

There is also another level up to Different Dimension Factory, again happening when I reached LV.150. Still don’t really understand that skill, but I also don’t care. I also had the level ups for Shield Technique and Spirit Magic.

I also unlocked a new race in One of Every Race called Guardian. It was basically Shieldman, but for some name it got a cooler name. And it came with the ability to learn the namesake skill of Guardian, which I’d now start to work towards, along with trying to get Swordsman’s Sword Master.

But outside of my standard practice, today I wanted to do something new. And for that, I joined Unika for a lesson on archery. I probably won't be using a bow any time soon, but the race I now commonly use is User or Rare Skills and it can get access to the racial skill Jack of All Trades, so learning more skills probably isn’t a bad thing. Even if I never get anywhere near the level where Unika is.

Archery itself was a bit like magic, but not at all like that. I guess calling it physical magic is somewhat accurate, where the magic chant is how you hold your bow, pull back the string, and then you have to perfectly time the release to get the best possible result. ... Though admittedly, for the first half an hour, I could barely hit anything. And when I tried to cheat using Telekinesis, I got a smack on the head from Unika.

Well, I suppose I do deserve it for trying to cheat.

The next important news was what was happening with Cailie. Well, more so with the CropFields that she was in charge of. They were ready for the first harvest, and for that, I gathered everyone and teleported us all into the CropFields floor.

Everyone already knew that they existed, as Cailie had told them about it, but this was the first time most of them were here. This was still a somewhat dangerous place, as if you went either up or down the stairs leading off of this floor, you’d end up in the monster infested parts of the HomeBase dungeon. And yes, the monsters would attack you and kill you. I can keep them from killing people when I’m there, but if I’m not, they will attack.

The harvest itself was a massive success and I now had a large amount of different crops in Storage, so we no longer had to worry about food. And for that reason, we had a harvest festival with all the new food we just had.

It ended up being largely vegetable based, and Molly and Cina loved that. The two of them can eat meat just fine, but they do prefer vegetables. Maybe I should get some soybeans and other high protein plants so that they could be on a full vegetarian diet? I need to check the HomeBase catalog if it has any, and if it doesn’t, I can always develop a new plant, like I did with the flowers that now produce mana.

In other news, Lua had taken Ria with her to the capital’s dhampir village. Lua had finished her teaching mission there, but a few of the villagers were interested in Vampiric Body Modification, so Lua and Ria were going to be commuting there for that. Alice had also headed towards Alewatch so she could visit home, and she said she’d also drop by Sawyer city and a few other places so she could deliver some invitations for the HomeBase grand reveal.

For a bit of time, I actually considered inviting the dhampirs from the safe town near Sawyer city to the grand reveal, but Lua said it’d be a bad idea. While they are cured, most people will still feel uneasy having that many dhampirs here. And the grand reveal will have a lot of my noble acquaintances, so I shouldn’t bring them here for that. But what I will do is have a separate party with them. They are Lua and Ria’s family after all. And I do like them, because unlike the other villages, I actually got to know them quite well over the days I visited them.

But with the first invitations going out, and the gifts for some of my future meetings with high ranked people being prepared, I headed to bed for today.
