Chapter 39: Unexpected Shot
The desolate land was still cloaked in tension as Alpha, after being brutally slammed to the ground by Zorvax, lay there with his head buried in the earth. Zorvax, with his enigmatic smile, observed the scene before him, his eyes locked on Alpha.
"It seems you haven't met your end just yet," Zorvax remarked, his voice tinged with curiosity and amusement. The moment he was waiting for, the announcement of Zombie Points, hadn't come to pass. T/his chapter is updated by nov(ê(l)biin.co/m
Alpha, his face planted firmly in the ground, couldn't help but show his frustration. With both palms firmly gripping the ground, he began to lift his head, determined to free himself from the soil's grasp.
"Damn it, you zombie," Alpha muttered as he fought to pull himself free from the earth's embrace. However, as he finally freed his head, he was met with an unexpected sight.
In front of him, a leg loomed ominously, and before he could react, it was sent hurtling toward his face. Zorvax had taken action, sending a powerful kick that connected with Alpha's face, propelling him through the air once more.
In front of him, a leg suddenly loomed before him, and Alpha's widened eyes took in the startling presence. "So, you are indeed still alive," Zorvax commented with an air of satisfaction as he unleashed a powerful kick to Alpha's face.
The force of Zorvax's kick sent Alpha tumbling through the air, his body soaring like a ragdoll through the desolate, open land before crashing onto the ground once again. He couldn't believe how thoroughly he'd been humiliated.
Struggling to his feet, Alpha's gaze bore into Zorvax with an intensity fueled by hatred. "Damn you, Zombie. I won't accept being weaker than a creature like you, no matter what."
With the smoky aftermath gradually clearing, the land's shadows receded to reveal Zorvax still standing, though the toll on his body was evident. Zorvax had endured the relentless onslaught, but the condition he was left in was far from enviable.
His flesh and skin were scorched to a crisp, leaving only remnants clinging to his bones and a grotesque visage on his face. Alpha's smile began to resurface as he witnessed the extent of the damage inflicted upon Zorvax.
"Hahaha, to think you're still standing, but this time, your end is certain," Alpha declared, his tone brimming with triumph.
Zorvax, despite his near-destruction, looked at his exposed bones and spoke with a strange sense of acceptance. "I never imagined I'd find myself in this state. I never thought that even after such an attack, I could still be alive, but it must be thanks to my zombie body, and without pain receptors, it doesn't matter what kind of injuries I sustain."
Alpha, his right fist ablaze, stepped closer to Zorvax, his intention clear. "Do you have any last words, you damn zombie?"
A sly smile crept across Zorvax's charred face. "Last words? Why don't you turn around?"
Alpha, puzzled by Zorvax's words, turned on his heel to inspect what lay behind him. As he did, he was met with the sight of a girl who bore the same peculiar characteristics as Zorvax, holding a gun.
The girl's words were chillingly casual as she aimed the gun at Alpha. "Bye-bye," she uttered before pulling the trigger, and a gunshot rang out, sending a bullet straight into Alpha's head. Alpha didn't even have a chance to react before he fell lifeless to the ground, his mission and his conflict with Zorvax finally coming to a shocking conclusion.
