Chapter 55 - I'll Catch You If You Fall.

Xia Sha thought the stargazing is the biggest surprised Guan Xian planned for their date. Who knows, just when she wanted to thank him for the great date and experience, he dragged her to another place again.

"We are not finished yet?" Xia Sha asked with a surprised voice. Guan Xian smiles perks up as he shook his head slowly. He once again held her and shoved her into the Jeep again.

This guy goes to a certain length to impressed her. Xia Sha could not help but feel appreciated by his considerations. 

The old uncle did not chatty this time. He focuses on riding the Jeep at high speed. Xia Sha also notices Guan Xian starring at his wristband several times. Interest and high expectations formed in her heart almost instantly. 

"Why are we rushing?" She peeks at Guan Xian. Guan Xian slightly turns his body and look at her. 

"You can guess." He said gently. He knew Xia Sha has several ideas formed on her mind but afraid to bring it up to him. Xia Sha ponders for a moment before opening her mouth. 

"We are rushing back because you have a meeting?" Xia Sha raised her eyebrow. 

"Come on," Guan Xian said with 'i expect more from you' looks. Xia Sha giggles and suddenly turn tilted her head to the skies who still looks dark. 

"Chasing the sunrise?" She tweeted in a very small voice, almost gone unheard by Guan Xian. Guan Xian shows his gummy smiles and playfully close his eyes. Xia Sha clapped her hand when he slowly nods his head helplessly. 

"Really?"

The Jeep suddenly stops moving. The old unable to clear his throat and proclaimed, "We are here!" 

Guan Xian looks proud when he jumped out from the jeep and spread out his hand. He glances at Xia Sha and proudly presents his utmost hiding place. 

Xia Sha glanced around before she locked his gaze with him. The dark sky slowly disperses into a warm orange color. He stares at her and felt the images in front of him is really beautiful. Beautiful that he hopes he bought his camera and snap the moment. 

The light intensity just perfect, emerging with her beautiful face. The sun has yet to rise, but he felt her smiles have blooms the sun in his heart. 

Yet, he did not know Xia Sha has the same thought at him. His messy hair and charming smiles on his golden face when he said, "Xia Sha, welcome to my favorite place in the world." 

He then runs and pulls her out from the Jeep. Xia Sha squeals when he makes her run against the winds. He stopped in front of a big rattan basket. Xia Sha gasp, the basket looks small from the Jepp, but when she sees the real size, she is stunned. 

Guan Xian turns around enthusiastically. Without asking for permission, he carried her small body inside the basket, making her squealed. She felt her cheeks and ears turn hot once again.

Guan Xian ignores her squeals and climbs inside himself. After they got inside, Xia Sha realized there is another man inside the basket. Guan Xian walks to him, saying, "Bro, we can go now." 

The man nodded his head while showing a cheeky smile at both of them. 

Xia Sha becomes shy all suddenly. She thought there only two of them. But thinking about it more throughout, professional skill is needed if she wanted to work on Monday. 

The man pulls long strings that cause a fire on the mechanism to get bigger and bigger. The basket starts getting wobbly as they started to float. 

The feeling is totally different from riding a helicopter or airplane. A helicopter or plane has a security guarantee. But who can guarantee your safeness in a hot air balloon?

Her heart suddenly shrank at the possibility of falling and died.

Her shoulder slightly trembles as she looks at the ground that getting smaller. Guan Xian stands beside Xia Sha, holding his hand when he saw her pale face. He smiled and said, "Don't be afraid." 

His voice drew her to look at him. The irrational and unreliable words have no effect on the logical Xia Sha. However, she is being illogical the moment she asked him to go on dates. His words could calm her down somehow as she nods her head slowly. 

She stops thinking about other thing and enjoy the unique view from karst landforms below. Xia Sha is speechless once again as they fly higher. 

"This..." She did not even have a word to describe how beautiful the scenery was. At a certain height, she could see rows of mountain tops covered by the thin clouds. 

"Am I in heaven?" She looked at Guan Xian with disbelief eyes. Guan Xian smiles and did not answer her question, instead, he let go of her hand and stretch it out from the basket.

He gives Xia Sha the encouragement to do what is he doing. Xia Sha long eyelash flutters when she sees him nodding to push away her hesitation. She slowly stretched her hand while looking at his face. 

Her soft hand touching something soft, fluffy, and wet at the same time. Something she never feels before, it just like cotton candy but more airy. 

She looks at her hand and gasp when she realized what she had touched. "Clouds!" She remarks, forgets all he worried about, and stretches her hand further to touch the soft things. 

"Oh my God!" She exclaims when she successfully touches it again. 

Guan Xian grin when he saw her get all excited like a little girl. Her giggles sound like music to his ears as his hand slowly reaches for his phone in the pocket. 

"I touched the clouds!" Xia Sha cheered. She is so happy that she did not realize he has perpetuated her images on his phone. 

"Guan Xian! I touched the clouds!" She smiles once again. 

"I know!" He chuckles, couldn't stop his hand from ruffling her head like a little child. Xia Sha forced and stop giggling, perhaps stunned as she turns his head toward him slowly. 

The current situation is prone to becoming awkward. But instead of retracting his hand, Guan Xian lets the situations turns that way. Xia Sha felt her lips is very dried that she subconsciously wet it with her tongue. 

She shot him a nervous questionable look. Guan Xian catch her confusion and did not intend to ignore it. He lowered her head and stare at her intently, patting her head again as he said, "You are adorable, I could not help myself." 

Xia Sha felt like she has stopped breathing. 

She pleaded to her heart and herself to not do something stupid and ruin the moments. He just makes the whole date escalated to a whole new level. It was just fair for her to be weak on her knees right now. 

As much as her brain warned her to stop catching feelings for him, she could not stop her heart to fall. 

"What if I fall?" She suddenly pops a strange question. She must be crazy to catapult her innermost thoughts. But she needs to know the answer coming out from his mouth, right now. 

She somehow felt that he needed that insurance. 

Guan Xian felt the burning gaze she gave him. Like she just once again busts into his layers of principles. He is not stupid, he knows he could not play around when he gives her the answers. 

So what's about his promise to his friend?

What's about the ideal life he wanted to live?

He probably should have said 'I'm sorry, I don't want to commit to the marriage bond.' and breaks of cleanly with her. It's something he would do whenever he saw that kind of gaze. 

But yet, she has entered into his life deeper than any girl has ever been. Moreover, the thought of breaking her heart makes his heartache. 

No, he is sure the feeling of wanting to protect her is not the same as the brotherly love he had for Xiao Ni. He also felt it's not a hero complex shit she said to him. The feeling is a new thing for him. 

He doesn't know who the hell playing with his mind right now. Someone just whispering things in his ear right now. It goes like 'You fall in love you dummy!'

Sometimes it sounds like Wang Kai, sometimes it sounds like Ji Cun Xi, sometimes it sounds like Jian Jun's annoying voice and sounds harsher when he heard Xiao Ni's voice. 

"What if I fall?" His mind replayed her question again. Waking him up from his deep thought. She is still there, waiting for his answers. She looks afraid and prepared for the worst that might come to her. 

But he did not want her to felt any grievance at all. 

He moves his hand, now laying on the edge of the basket. He suddenly felt his cheeks burning hot. 

"What if I fall?"

"I'll catch you if you fall." He said, but then he completed his sentence before Xia Sha could react.. "But you can't fly unless you let yourself to fall."
