Chapter 105 - Moody Boss

"Thanks sweetie. You didn't only call me to ask for this and instead for something else, right?"

"Ehehe, actually I'm going to hold my wedding ceremony soon and I want you to be my bridesmaid along with my sister in law. Would you accept?"

Yu Yan was surprised when she heard this from Feng Mian. In truth, Feng Mian had already got married since last year but hadn't had her wedding ceremony due to one reason or another. However, she knew that Feng Mian and her husband was actually very caring to one another.

"Really? Congratulations!"

"That's why I want to ask you whether you want to be my bridesmaid or not," Feng Mian repeated her question.

"Of course! Why would I reject becoming my bestie bridesmaid?! Also, let me be the one in charge of your makeup. I can't let you come up there without proper makeup."

"Eh, there'll be makeup artist helping me."

"I'll help a bit then."

"Okay~."

The two girls talked a bit more before they ended the call. Yu Yan turned to look at Long Ying. "Ying, Feng Mian will be having her wedding ceremony soon! I really should come and congratulate her."

"We'll come together." Watching Yu Yan getting so excited, Long Ying felt a bit loss. He was happy that she was so happy but he felt a bit annoyed at the thought that the one who made her happy the most was her best friend. It felt as if the one who was most important in Yu Yan's heart was still her best friend and not him. 

"Yes!"

After being excited a bit, Yu Yan continued to watch the television. She also noticed that Bao Tu and Yu Xin announced that they would get married soon, but she didn't really care about that.

If those two really wanted to get married, they should just do it as fast as possible.

However, she knew that these two would wait until the news died down before they got married. If not, they would be getting married under bad press and certainly wouldn't be a good thing.

After making sure that Yu Yan was comfortable, Long Ying walked out of the room and patted An Lin's shoulder. "I'll give you bonus this month."

An Lin, who was wondering whether he would get punished or not, instantly beamed when he heard what his Boss said. It seemed that his decision to sell his brother over last night was proven to be the best decision! Hehehe, the stingy boss was actually giving him bonus.

He had to make sure to brag to the others.

While Long Ying returned back to the room to accompany his wife, An Lin opened the group chat and began to brag.

An Lin: I got bonus this month! Boss didn't say how much but I'm sure that it'll be a hefty sum!

Lan Huo: Damn you! You sold your brother out and you end up getting bonus on top of it!

San Xia: Ah, so that's why Luo is sent to Island A. Come here Lin and I'll show you what hell feels like.

An Lin: Sister in law, you're not going to kill me, right? It's not my fault that Big Brother kept those things in Boss' mansion.

San Xia: *sent smiley emoji* Of course I can't kill you but I can at least make you feel it's better to be dead than alive.

An Lin: I'm in the Capital City. Come here if you dare!

San Xia: … Lan Huo, call the boys. We're going to rough up An Lin.

Lan Huo: Right away!

An Lin looked at the chat and laughed out loudly. He knew that these boys wouldn't be able to do anything to him for real. Hmm, being favored by the Boss sure was fun.

When An Luo saw the message, he was determined to make sure that his little brother paid for what he did.

Just like that, An Lin had successfully garnered the hate of the members from Dragon Clan. Though, it was mostly them wanting to beat up this annoying bragger.

After a day filled with Long Ying accompanying her, Yu Yan returned back to her usual work day. Long Ying was still worried but Yu Yan told him that she was fine and could go to work as usual.

"Lan Huo hadn't returned?" Yu Yan asked when she saw that the driver was still An Lin.

An Lin nodded. "Lan Huo will not return back for the time being."

"Is his mission so difficult?"

"It's not difficult but the time limit Boss set is a bit too fast. Since he didn't manage to finish in time, Boss give him punishment." An Lin was gloating internally when he thought about Lan Huo got punishment while he got bonus instead of punishment. It seemed that he was truly suited for this job.

Well, the dog food can be a bit too much at times, though.

Yu Yan nodded. "I see."

"Madam, we've arrived."

"Thank you as usual, An Lin." Yu Yan alighted down and headed to her workplace. There were not really many things to do. Zhang Liang had decided to reuse the past concept so they were only editing the past design. The deadline was still some time away and they were all doing their work at their comfortable pace.

When it was lunch time, there was a notification in their email.

"Work time is over for today?" Yu Yan looked at the message and felt suspicious. Zhang Liang was a boss who often make his employee overworked. Why in the world he suddenly gave them holiday when he could order them to work more and earn him more money?

"It seems that Boss is happy."

"Happy?" Yu Yan asked the director, who was currently vising the art floor.

The director nodded. "I heard that Boss comes to work while humming and everyone thought that he's being so happy. The stern Boss is even kinder today and there's someone who said that Boss falls in love."

Yu Yan's lips twitched. Well, she could faintly guess that the reason why Zhang Liang was so happy must be because of Feng Mian. She didn't know what the couple did yesterday, but she could guess that it must be something that made Zhang Liang's mood over the roof.

Well, it didn't matter.

The best thing was that they still got paid for full while they only worked for half day today.

"Since work time is over, I'll be going first, Director." Yu Yan picked her bag. "If there's anything new, please inform me."

"Sure, Manager Yu. Take care on your way."

The other employees were also cheering. They had just finished their lunch or some had only taken out their lunch when they heard the news. It sounded like a blessing since they rarely got holiday from their stern Boss.

"Manager Yu."

Yu Yan stopped and saw Mu Cheng Yue, the new artist, came to her while beaming. "Yes, Mu Cheng Yue?"

"We're all getting off work faster. Do you want to have a meal with all of us?"

"Meal?" Yu Yan glanced to the back and saw those from the male leader's team were all talking merrily. She was not that close to all of them because she only mostly interacted with the leader while the rest only had some superficial conversation. 

"I don't think that you'll be able to hold proper conversation with me around. You should enjoy your time with your colleague, Miss Mu."

Mu Cheng Yue raised her hand, wanting to speak more, but felt that there were no words that she could say. She watched as Yu Yan walked back and gritted her teeth.

"Are you trying to get close to Manager Yu? She's a good girl but you wouldn't be able to get too close to her."

"Yes, Manager Yu didn't want to make best friend from work anymore."

"Why?" Mu Cheng Yue asked. Her large eyes looked like puppy who were waiting for its owner to give food.

The male leader coughed. "Well, I don't know the details but I think that she had some dispute with her teammates back then and end up moving to another team. Well, it happens in City F, so we're not too clear about it but I have friend there who tell me about it.

Anyway, she's a professional manager who do her work properly. But if you wish to get closer to her, it'll be hard."

Mu Cheng Yue nodded. Her eyes lowered so no one would be able to see her expression. Her colleague patted her shoulder as they invited her to come with them to have some meal after the short work period.

While the employees were all going home faster, Yu Yan headed to the car and thought for a bit. It would be a waste to go home directly since Long Ying would be going home late.
