Chapter 106 - School Reunion

Yu Yan texted Long Ying about the work that ended early and also the fact that she would visit the mall to shop a bit. She was not a person who liked to stay at home all the time and instead loved to venture outside. One of her most favorite place to visit was the mall.

It was the best place for her to roam around and if she was in bad mood, she could use the view of the mall to lift up her mood.

'Hmm, it has been some times since the last time I come here. Time to walk around.'

There were some new things but Yu Yan was not interested. She had enough dress thanks to Long Ying filling her wardrobe with new dresses after he felt that she didn't have enough. There were also a lot of jewelries that he had while Yu Yan herself had seen quite a lot of jewelries because of her uncles' business.

After some time, Yu Yan stopped in front of glasses' store. She came inside and saw some of the models.

'When I first met with Long Ying, his glasses is different.' Sweeping her gaze on the various models located on the table, Yu Yan's eyes landed on one of them as a smile formed on the corner of her lips. 'It's similar with this one.'

"Miss, would you like to buy one?"

"I would like to buy for my husband. Is there one with this model at bigger size?" Yu Yan could see that it was a bit too small since it was designed for woman. She would need one that was slightly bigger if she wanted to buy for Long Ying.

The woman smiled. "Sure, please wait for a bit, Madam."

Knowing that Yu Yan was married, the woman also changed her way of addressing. After a while, the woman brought the glasses out and Yu Yan inspected it. She nodded in satisfaction after getting what she wanted and paid for it.

On the back, An Lin was watching everything and felt a bit speechless. Did Madam think that the row of glasses Long Ying had in his home were not enough and that she had to buy more?

He didn't know what to report to his Boss later.

Yu Yan finished buying the glasses then she headed to buy some ice cream. Just as she walked past a jewelry store, she heard someone calling her name. Internally, Yu Yan complained. 

'Why are there so many people who knows me around?'

"Yu Yan! You still have the heart to walk around and shop in the mall?" Kang Mao Yao stepped forward and asked in harsh tone. She felt that the woman who passed by looked familiar but she wasn't sure until she came close. 

Thinking of the sleepless night she experienced due to that disaster, Kang Mao Yao's mood was really bad. If not because she wanted to help Yu Xin, she would not try to call many of her old friends whom she met through parties and were quite close in real life.

Yu Yan passed a look at Kang Mao Yao. "I'm no longer part of the Yu Family, so whatever happens to them is no longer of my concern, isn't it?"

She knew that Yu Family was in trouble because their image plummeted. Not only Yu Family, even Bao Family also got some impact from this crisis as their image dropped to the lowest bottom. There were many people who thought that the two family would surely got hit hard from this.

The price of their share in stock market had been dwindling lately. It was not that dangerous yet, but it was already very low.

"You ungrateful daughter. Do you really think that…"

"Say, do you really want to involve yourself in this muddy water, Mrs. Kang?" Yu Yan stressed on the last word. She wanted to remind Kang Mao Yao that the one who kicked her out of her family was her father and whatever happened ot the family was of no concern to her anymore.

She also knew that the companies will be fine. With her father's capabilities, she was sure that Yu Family company would return back to its track after some time. What was needed was only time and also no more negative press or it would definitely affect the stock market.

Kang Mao Yao opened her mouth, "What are you talking about?"

"The one who kicked me out of the family and wish for me to stay away from them is Yu Family. I would not care too much about them but if they still try to bother me, do you really think I'll be so kind and let them do whatever they wanted while I merely watch from a distance?" Yu Yan smiled mirthlessly.

"Don't cross my bottom line, Mrs. Kang."

After saying whatever she wanted to say, Yu Yan walked away and continued to eat her ice cream. Honestly, she didn't really want to get involved I Kang Mao Yao's business because she knew that Kang Mao Yao had so many friends in the upper circle society. As a woman who was very active in parties, Kang Mao Yao had much more connection than most people.

While the connection was not that close, her circle of friends was big.

Yu Yan didn't mind clashing with Kang Mao Yao if there was no other choice. But if there was no need for that, she would rather not have any interaction with Kang Mao Yao in the slightest bit.

Kang Mao Yao watched Yu Yan walked away calmly and felt a bit conflicted. Even though Yu Yan was supposed to be nothing more than an ordinary child who only knew how to waste the money that was given to her, she did feel intimidated. When Yu Yan talked to her just now, she felt as if the one who talked to her was her father, Kang Shu Jiang.

He was a great father, but Kang Mao Yao didn't have much memory about her father. She didn't grow up with him because he was too busy to care for her and often went away for work. Thanks to that, Kang Mao Yao mostly spent her time with her mother and learned how to create connections through parties and loved to do it all the time.

Even after her father experienced setback, Kang Mao Yao never interacted much.

But the impression she had of her father would always last. Her father would be an amiable man most of the time, but when he was serious, he would be intimidating and people would fear him.

Just now, she felt that fear from Yu Yan, a girl who was supposed to be just a weak girl.

'Am I hallucinating?'

Kang Mao Yao shook her head and felt that she was thinking too much. But getting involved too deeply in her sister's problem would be too annoying. She just wanted to spend her time with parties and not care about these matters at all.

While Kang Mao Yao returned, Yu Yan also chose to return back. She was no longer in the mood to roam around in the mall after meeting someone like Kang Mao Yao.

"Go back home."

"Yes."

Reaching home, Yu Yan washed up directly and put the present she had for Long Ying on his table. He only returned back home when it was late and headed straight to find Yu Yan.

"Yan'er, how's your trip in the mall?" Long Ying asked softly.

"I bought you a present." Yu Yan grinned. "Aside from that, I met my aunt and she's still as annoying as ever."

Long Ying's eyes flashed. "Do you want to do something about her?"

"No need. She's only annoying me but I'm sure that after today's warning, she would not bother with me that much. She's a bit smarter than my mother and I'm sure she understands the meaning of my words better."

Long Ying glanced at his wife, not sure whether she realized that she was actually saying that her mother was stupid indirectly.

"What did you buy for me?" Long Ying changed the conversation and walked to the table. He opened the box and arched his eyebrows when he saw the glasses inside. The model… seemed quite familiar.

"I see that in the mall today and thought that it'll suit you." Yu Yan grinned.

"This is similar to the one I wear in High School. I see that my wife actually wants me to act more like a high school student."

"What? I never say that?"

"Then this gift is?"

"Of course I just think that you're more handsome with that kind of glasses."

"Oh? Come here."

And the couple had their 'fight' continued.

The days were peaceful for Yu Yan. She had started to get used to the fact that Long Ying didn't want to leave her alone when it was night time. At the same time, the time for school reunion was fast approaching.

"Ying, today there's school reunion. Do you have work today?"
