Chapter 151 - Old Acquaintances

"Yes~."

Zhou Wei nearly vomited on the spot when she heard Yu Xin's flirty words. It seemed that this annoying pair wouldn't be satisfied unless they flaunt their love to the entire world.

Yu Yan simply turned around and took a glass of juice from beside her. She had no intention to even look in their direction.

"O Lord in the Heaven, why do I have to come to this party…" Zhou Wei mumbled incoherently. She really hoped that her father would not be this unreasonable next time and allowed her to pass the not so important party because it was really tiring for her to come here only to watch a disgusting pair..

"You ok?"

"I think so." Zhou Wei certainly wished that she could definitely leave without having to experience the tragedy of watching disgusting people flirting with each other. It was very unfortunate that she couldn't go against her father.

He would punish her with the Zhou Family law if she dared to be unreasonable.

Yu Yan passed a look at Zhou Wei and patted the latter's shoulder. "You'll get used to it."

"Ugh… Now that I already see the bride, it's time to leave. My father only told me that I need to greet the bride." Zhou Wei decided to use this loophole.

He didn't specify whether she should stay here until the party was over or not. He only said that she had to attend and greet the couple. Since she already saw them, naturally it was time for her to leave.

Yu Yan nodded and smiled. "Take care."

"En. You too."

With that, Zhou Wei hurriedly left. She had absolutely no intention of staying behind and tortured herself in this room any longer.

Long Ying looked at his wife with concern. "Do you want to leave too?"

"I'm waiting for Xing Yi. Did she not come here?" Yu Yan tilted her head. Her cousin was still in good relationship with Kang Family, right? It was a bit weird that she didn't come when Yu Xin had her wedding.

She had been looking around for Lei Xing Yi, but she hadn't seen the other party. Knowing Lei Xing Yi, she wouldn't dare to be late in an important occasion, so it was weirder that Yu Yan didn't even manage to find her after searching for so long.

Long Ying narrowed his eyes. He knew that there were some problems in Kang Family lately but it was not his position to tell them to her. Sweeping his gaze across the hall, he noticed someone familiar.

"Your male cousin is over there."

"Hmm?" Turning her head, Yu Yan could see Kang San Hai stood not far from a table. She immediately decided to walk over and greeted him. "Cousin Kang San Hai."

"Cousin Yu Yan!" Kang San Hai was surprised. He grinned. "So you also come here. I thought that you'll just ignore the wedding invitation considering that you're not close to anyone here."

"What are you talking about? I still know some people in the upper class society."

"True enough."

Yu Yan smiled. "Your mother didn't come?"

"No, she said that she's not feeling that well." Kang San Hai shrugged. Those who heard that his mother didn't come would have some thought whether it was merely an excuse or she was truly unwell. He didn't really care, either way. It was not that important.

"I see. Have you seen Cousin Lei Xing Yi?"

"Lei Xing Yi?" Kang San Hai looked at Yu Yan with a complicated expression. "Well, there's an incident with her parents not long ago…She also announced that she's no longer their daughter after some heavy debate in the last party that Aunt Kang Mao Yao held. Have you heard about it?"

"No." Yu Yan shook her head. She furrowed her eyebrows. "What happened?"

"Beats me, I'm not participating in that party and aside from the fact that Lei Xing Yi extracted herself from her family members, the news media didn't show anything else. Those who participate in the party also shut their mouth and didn't let the details of the incident leak out."

Kang San Hai was someone who prided himself in being able to gather a lot of issues and rumors, but he himself also didn't know the details this time. He only knew that Lei Xing Yi had a fallout with Kang Mao Yao and Lei Huan, her father. The details were not leaked out, probably to hide some privacy for them.

However, he knew that Kang Mao Yao hadn't shown herself in any of the party and Lei Huan seemed to keep a low profile too lately. It seemed that the two of them also wished to let the news passed for those who participated in the party.

Kang San Hai actually wanted to use his connection with some ladies to pry into the matter… but his mother beat him up. He didn't dare to bring up the matter anymore and could only curb his interest.

When she was no longer paying attention to him… he would try again.

If his mother knew what he was thinking, she would have beaten him up even more terribly once more.

"I see…" Yu Yan knew that her cousin sister was ruthless but she didn't expect this to happen either. It was even more domineering than her own.

"Do you want me to pass her a message from you?"

"No need."

If it was indirect message, Yu Yan could easily chat with Lei Xing Yi with her phone. Anyway, she also knew that there were some matters regarding Kang Mao Yao that Lei Xing Yi figured out. Yu Yan would not pry too deep because she knew that it would be awkward.

After talking a bit more with Kang San Hai, Yu Yan bade her farewell. The wedding reception was far from over, but Yu Yan had no intention to stay for long in case her mother would seek her out to create problems again. She already had enough of that.

She was about to leave when she spotted a few familiar figures. Her eyes widened as she instinctively called out, "Team Leader."

"Hmm?" The person in front of her turned around. He was also surprised when he saw Yu Yan but a smile quickly formed on his lips, "Manager Yu! Oh, wait, you have resigned."

"Yes." Yu Yan smiled back. She didn't expect to meet her former colleague in this kind of party either. He was one of the two team leaders under her when she was in Zhang Corporation.

Did he have some connection with the upper class society? Yu Yan hadn't known about it.

The male team leader smiled. "I'm here thanks to my friend's invitation. He forced me to come but I didn't expect to see you here, Man… Miss Yu."

"Me either." Yu Yan resisted the urge to correct the man for his wrong address to her. She was already married and it was supposedly to be Mrs. Long rather than Miss Yu.

However, she didn't mind the matter at all for now.

"Are you alone?"

"Ah no, I come with Mu Cheng Yue since she also has a friend here… Wait, where's that little girl?"

Mu Cheng Yue.

Yu Yan didn't have much impression of other people name but this name was one that she still remembered. After all, Mu Cheng Yue was the only intern who came during the time when she was still the manager in Zhang Corporation.

At that time, Mu Cheng Yue came under her and often tailed behind her just like a puppy that was seeing for attention.

However, Yu Yan tried to distance herself from the other party because she couldn't trust other people so easily anymore. The betrayal that her sister gave to her was quite big.

"Ah, there she is!"

Yu Yan turned her head around and noticed Mu Cheng Yue walked to their direction. She was dressed in peach colored dress and looked younger than what she supposed to be. Her eyes showed surprise when she saw Yu Yan.

"Team leader, Manager Yu…" After that Mu Cheng Yue's eyes landed on the man behind Yu Yan but she didn't know how she should address the other party.

"Long Ying, Yu Yan's husband." Long Ying's tone was calm.

"Ah, Mr. Long."

"Mr. Long." The team leader also quickly corrected his address then looked at Yu Yan. "I didn't know the beauty manager is actually already married! You sure keep it well."

Yu Yan merely smiled. She was not exactly keeping this matter. It was just that she didn't feel the need to expose her status if there was no one who asked.

Besides, there was no one who tried to flirt with her in the company, so she didn't think that it was necessary to reveal her status.

"Manager Yu… would you return back?" Mu Cheng Yue asked with puppy eyes. If one didn't know better, they would think of her as a little kid who was wronged. Just one look of her was enough to melt most people.
