Chapter 152 - A Secret?

Besides, there was no one who tried to flirt with her in the company, so she didn't think that it was necessary to reveal her status.

"Manager Yu… would you return back?" Mu Cheng Yue asked with puppy eyes. If one didn't know better, they would think of her as a little kid who was wronged. Just one look of her was enough to melt most people. 

Would she return back?

Yu Yan badly wanted to say yes, but she knew that it would be a lie. There was no chance for her to return back to Zhang Corporation ever again. Slowly, Yu Yan shook her head.

"Sorry, but I'm already settling in for my new job."

"Ah…" Mu Cheng Yue looked down. It definitely looked like there was dog ear on her head that flopped down..

Yu Yan's lips quivered. She really felt that someone demure and cute like Mu Cheng Yue to be a good girl. But… 

Appearance can be deceiving.

"How's your work? Is it going well?" Yu Yan decided to ask about other matter.

The male team leader nodded. "As you know, Boss is still strict with us. Well, we did have some weird holidays occasionally, though. It makes us wonder what makes Boss so moody."

Yu Yan kept a straight face but internally, she knew the cause of such matter.

Zhang Liang was busy pampering Feng Mian that he chose to give his employee some sudden holiday.

There were certainly no other reasons.

Yu Yan and the other two chatted a bit more before Yu Yan bade her farewell. She really couldn't afford to stay in this party for a long time because those annoying people might come to search trouble with her again. 

"I have to go now. It's nice meeting you two again."

"Yes. Good luck with your new work, Manager Yu."

"Thank you. I hope you two are well to."

Mu Cheng Yue looked in Yu Yan's direction and opened her mouth yet there were no words that was said. She took a deep breath, closed her mouth, then opened it again only to say, "Goodbye Mrs. Long."

Yu Yan nodded. She passed another look at Mu Cheng Yue as she could tell that the young woman wanted to say something. However, she didn't want to force the young lady, so she simply turned around.

It was Long Ying whose eyes squinted when he passed by the young woman. He didn't say anything but it was clear that the atmosphere around him grew colder.

In the car, Yu Yan looked at her husband. "Ying."

"Yes?"

"Can you help me investigate Kang Mao Lan?" Yu Yan still recalled that Lei Xing Yi told her that it would be good for her to find out more about it. She had been thinking about it from time to time and decided that it would be better for her to really investigate it.

Long Ying paused for a moment. He had already investigated both of Yu Yan's parents and obviously knew some of their secrets. It was just… there was something that might not be that good to say.

"I'll let you see it later."

"Okay. Thank you. Please don't hide anything from me." Yu Yan could guess that there was something wrong with the investigation just based on Long Ying's reaction, so she specifically reminded him.

"Alright."

"We'll stay in City A for another day. Do you want to go somewhere during this time?" Long Ying asked. She hadn't been out of Island A for nearly two months. It was only right for him to let her have some fun.

Yu Yan narrowed her eyes. "I would like to buy some items. In addition, I would like to pay a visit to Xingyan Company."

Xingyan Company. 

When Long Ying heard that name, he felt a bit displeased but he knew that his wife still had to take care of her business. Xingyan Company was built by both Lei Xing Yi and Yu Yan. So far, the one taking care of it was Lei Xing Yi while Yu Yan took care from the back.

It was time for her to do some inspection and also to take care of the problems that couldn't be done from a distance. It was not that many but there were still some things.

But soon, his attention fell on the other sentences that Yu Yan mentioned. "What items do you want to buy, Yan'er?"

"That'll be a secret." Yu Yan passed a look at Long Ying but refused to answer.

"Secret that you can't tell me?"

"Yes!"

Long Ying arched his eyebrows but didn't try to pester her any longer when he saw her determined gaze. In any case, he definitely could make sure that she would not be lacking in anything even if she wanted to buy something expensive.

When Yu Yan handed the list of items she wanted to buy to An Lin, the man was utterly speechless. He looked at the list in his hand then looked at Yu Yan before he finally asked, "Madam, are you…?" serious?

The last word couldn't be said because An Lin was utterly shocked with the list of items that Yu Yan listed here. He knew for sure that whatever he wanted to ask would not be possible to be mentioned…

Yu Yan nodded. "Buy it but you're not allowed to let Ying see the list."

An Lin, who was feeling that the weather was hot, suddenly felt chills coming on his back. He didn't need to turn around to know that Long Ying was giving him death glare because he was not allowed to tell him what the items in the list were.

Normally, he would still give report to Boss about what Madam asked him to do because it was his job. 

But…

He really couldn't bring himself to tell the Boss with the Madam's eyes still looked at him scarily.

An Lin nodded vehemently. "Yes, Madam! I'll definitely not tell Boss the content of things you want to buy!"

Lan Huo, who walked into the room, looked at An Lin with pity. He was thankful that he was not the one who got the task to buy items from Yu Yan or it would be him who was in that position. As expected, if one wanted to find the best scapegoat, the answer would be An Lin.

That night, Long Ying tried to ask Yu Yan about it, but she still refused to give him answer. After several times trying to ask, he ended up giving up since she really didn't want to tell him.

In the morning, Yu Yan headed to Xingyan Company and Long Ying came with her.

"Don't you have work?" Yu Yan was more surprised that Long Ying was willing to come with her.

Long Ying shook his head. "For the time being, I can stay with you. Do you not want me to come?"

"It didn't matter."

Hearing Yu Yan's casual tone, Long Ying knew that she didn't mind at all. Even if he came and watched them, Yu Yan would let him be. After all, her focus was to work with Lei Xing Yi and not to flirt with her husband.

There was nothing that should be hidden from her conversation with Lei Xing Yi either way.

In Xingyan Company, Lei Xing Yi was looking at the two guests in front of her with dark expression. Could someone tell her why did he have to come over to her house?

For the time being, the location of Xingyan Company was still combined with Lei Xing Yi's house. As the result, the first floor was remodeled so that her men could work while she stayed at the second floor.

Of course, no one was allowed to come up and Lei Xing Yi made sure to lock the door so that they could not come.

"I didn't tell you that, but at the very least, you need to think about ways to make your store's name sounded out even more. Anyway, starting tomorrow, you have to make the store give discount."

"What?"

"It's marketing sales. The discount you give on the first day is not enough and why don't you make use of the advertisement slot on some famous malls? Their board will definitely attract attention…."

As Yu Yan began to lecture Lei Xing Yi on the importance of having a brand known, Long Ying was watching from the side. He knew that the store of Xingyan Company, named Xingyan Jewelry Store was open last week.
