The phone continued, but no one spoke. Edrei knew she had brought up her best friend's old wound. Silvia had always loved talking about stars and attributing them to Dexter.
Realizing that, Edrei wanted to kill herself! She was too frivolous and talkative. Look how it ended!
She was annoyed with herself, so hurriedly said, "Hmph my dear ... Shall we go out for a drink? I got a new project from the office and it's a little difficult for me."
Silvia remained silent for about 10 seconds, after that, the corners of her lips made a little smile, "That star has dimmed and doesn't belong to me anymore. There will be no other star."
When she said that, she had made a big decision, that she would never love, let alone lose herself because of it.
After this, love was no longer a fun thing for her. What was love, she didn't want to know at all.
Who didn't know what love is? Its presence could be a sedative. It could also be the source of all pain but it could also be a cure. It could also be the trigger of the number one disease.
Love was so impossible. It could hurt but it could save people, too. It could become a poisonous thorn, seriously injured you, and also became a medicine that could heal your wounds.
Edrei felt even more guilty hearing that answer. This time, she did make a very fatal mistake. If her best friend was suffering because of her actions, she would punish herself firmly and harshly!
This was her fault. She must be responsible.
They were silent again, for another one minute. Silvia knew her friend must be blaming herself right now.
She laughed mischievously, "Have a drink? Come on, which bar?"
The loud laughter reached the other side, consciously Edrei let out a sigh of relief. "I'll send the address, okay?"
"Hmph… Of course. We'll drink until we get drunk." At least, until she could fall asleep soundly without remembering the wound in her mind that was bleeding. Although, maybe tomorrow morning it would still hurt. At least, being able to rest from the pain was a very extraordinary thing, right?
They arrived at the bar chosen by Edrei. The beautiful woman with shoulder-length hair immediately embraced Silvia and walked together into the bar.
"My dear, we are not just drinking and getting drunk now." Edrei started babbling! She had a bubbly personality, in contrast to Silvia, who was reticent. Sometimes many people were surprised to see their friendship. Two people with opposite characters could become close, even like lovers.
People were curious to know how Silvia, who was too lazy to talk, dealt with Edrei who was so talkative! And how could Edrei, who kept talking, forced Silvia to hear her? The two of them didn't even know, let alone other people, but the story of their friendship just happened, so intimate and belong to each other.
Silvia just glared lazily, "What more mischief are you going to do?"
"Uhhh… My dear, this isn't mischief, its fun. You only live once, let's have fun!" She jumped happily while showing her fangs.
Silvia just shook her head in surprise. She was already familiar with her friend's behavior.
"Why are you reacting like that? Don't you believe the surprise I'm about to give? I invite you to have fun also not empty-handed. I bring a surprise for you. You must be happy and love me more, later."
"I'm really curious about what you call a surprise that makes me happy," Silvia responded in a cool voice. She knew when Edrei said a 'surprise' it was indeed a thrilling that made you angry about it.
The surprise was beyond common sense! It didn't make you happy but felt annoyed.
"Let's see later. Don't rush to thank yourself, okay! I do it all sincerely for you."
As soon as they sat down, two men immediately came. Silvia frowned, feeling unsettled.
Before she could ask, Edrei had preceded, "My dear, this is my surprise. Do you like it?"
Silvia's reddish-yellow eyes stared intently at Edrei, "Surprise, huh? What a surprise, Miss Edrei. How could you even think about ordering a gigolo to accompany you drinking?"
"My dear, don't be too old-fashioned like that. Do you know, now you look like an old woman in the 20th century with advice! Drinking alone is so lonely, drinking with you is too awkward, when there are more people, then it feels alive. At least, there will be someone who fills our empty glasses, am I right, handsome?"
Edrei easily flirted with that young gigolo! Silvia couldn't help thinking about her friend's thoughts.
Edrei grew up in a western country, mingling freely was common for her. She got used to drinking, partying, and nightlife, but she still respected herself as a woman. It was not a problem to make many friends!
Silvia was also not a woman who didn't know that kind of lifestyle. She just didn't enjoy it. She would only do something if she wanted to. Drinking was the one she could tolerate, in contrast to Edrei, who seemed out of control.
She did not dislike noise, nor did she dislike silence. She was just too difficult to blend in because of her arrogancy. That's why she only had Edrei as a friend.
"Take it easy, these handsome gentlemen will help you to heal your wound, or what people called as bloodless but deadly," Edrei reassured her friend who was still indifferent.
After that, her gaze shifted to the two men. She pointed out at the most handsome one of the two, "Mr. handsome, fill Miss Zendrada's glass and make her happy. Don't worry, we are rich women, don't be afraid of the pay. If you can brighten her mood, then you will get a lot. This party is only for the best internist doctor at Danka Hospital." Edrei shouted as if they were the only visitors at the bar.
It gave Silvia a headache. Why didn't she force herself to just sleep at her house so that tomorrow she could work well? She lamented her decision to follow her friend's invitation to the bar.
The man Edrei appointed did as she asked. He filled Silvia's wineglass, occasionally his eyes did not escape from Silvia's.
Meanwhile, the other male friend was sitting next to Edrei affectionately. Silvia just shook her head. She was a little surprised to see the situation that was going on. Nonchalantly, without giving any response, Silvia took a sip of her white wine.
Seeing Silvia who was just silent without making a sound and didn't even give any response, Edrei whined, "Silvia, enjoy the party, don't frown, please!"
Silvia only narrowed her eyes, too lazy to respond to Edrei who was so strange.
"Via, my dear, just enjoy life without thinking about love. You know, sometimes life without love is very pleasant. It could rest your heart from things that spur sadness, and calm your mind.
Women are often said to be in control of everything. Do you understand the meaning?"
Silvia glanced at her, with a soft and curious look.
Edrei smiled, blinked her eyes cutely, and walked over to Silvia's seat, a sofa that was quite long. Her hand lightly wrapped around Silvia's shoulder.
"Let me be clear! Generally, if a woman is being asked, 'will you marry me? Or be my lover.' If we say 'no', it won't happen, right? Do you get it? Now, everything I said earlier has a lot to do with the pain you are experiencing now. You won't feel the pain if you don't accept it happening. So what if you love him? You will forget it tomorrow! The one that could make it worse is if you keep cultivating the pain. It must be very tiring, right?
Many have had broken hearts but they moved on and found a new love. The one who will cherish you more. Why don't you try it too?
Silvia, do you know that you are very beautiful? You have a good career and a lot of abilities. You also come from a wealthy family, what else? Which man doesn't want to be with you? And now, look at yourself! You're here, enduring the pain that you create yourself."
Silvia glared at Edrei as she said 'the pain that you create yourself!' Who would want to feel the pain? None!
Everyone wanted a good life. It was impossible if she wanted to feel the pain, even the slightest one.
But Edrei was not even afraid of the deadly gaze that Silvia fell on her, instead, she casually said, "Don't blame me, what I said is true! All the pain you are experiencing right now is because you wanted it. Otherwise, you will forget it! Forgetting pain is not a question of time, it is readiness! But we do need time to be ready. If you are ready to let go of all your pain now, then all you need is a little time. If you still want to enjoy the pain, you'll take a long time.
That means, Silvia, you have to move on. Don't wait for the time to move you! Believe me, waiting for time will not change anything. Your days are wasted without an impression."
Silvia closed her mouth. She didn't give any response but she quietly corrected everything her friend said. She was indeed beautiful, an only daughter from a strong and influential family. She had a good educational background. Everything that was in her could be said to be perfect. By her family background, she didn't suppose to feel any pain. She could just choose which love she wanted to have, just ... In the end, she understood, love was not talking about choices.
Who could choose what kind of person to fall in love with? If you could, there wouldn't be many people who were heartbroken because of love.
After pondering a little, now Silvia dropped her eyes on Edrei. This friend, even though she looked messy, lived like a person who had no purpose, but in fact, she had a broad perspective, especially on how to love herself.
She always believed in the word, 'Accept or deny'. It was that simple as she went about her day.
"You didn't say anything but I'm sure, you confirmed what I said earlier, didn't you? Well, better, let go of your messy thoughts right now and come on have fun. Aren't you interested in the two handsome men I presented to you?"
Silvia sipped the white wine, looking very indifferent! Interested in the two hired men? What a joke!
"Huh, it looks like you don't like them. I chose the most handsome one in the agency. Look, isn't the one who poured your wine just like your brother Dexter?"
'Cough ...'
Silvia choked on the wine she drank hearing the words. This kind of person equated with Dexter? Edrei was not blind, wasn't she?
Edrei frantically patted her friend's shoulder, "Oh, that's why it's enough to drink wine just a little, why are you sipping it like drinking water?"
Edrei knew why Silvia was choking. She just pretended not to know, to avoid her friend from getting angry.
But what Edrei didn't know was her actions indeed made Silvia angry! She wanted to play dumb, huh? She had to see who she was dealing with!
Silvia violently clapped Edrei's hand. Her eyes looked sharp.
One of the men wanted to speak up and rebuked Silvia, Edrei forbade him. "You guys just go, I've transferred the payment to your agency."
Edrei hurriedly kicked the man away and went back to coax Silvia, "My dear, relax! I threw them away and promised not to do it again in the future. I promise." Edrei raised her index and middle fingers.
Silvia looked at her expressionlessly, after a few seconds, then she spoke up, "Who is angry? You like the company of men but I don't. But that doesn't mean I have to force my will on you."
Edrei was stunned and a little annoyed. This friend of hers was so unpredictable! If she had known Silvia was fine with it, she wouldn't have thrown them out!
Now Edrei was annoyed with her. But it didn't last long, in the next second she spoke up, "Oh, yeah, I forgot, your rival works at my cousin's company."
Silvia was confused. She furrowed her brows. Before Silvia spoke, Edrei had already continued saying, "Your rival, Kaili." She made clear what she meant. She knew Silvia's character, that curt woman didn't like things that were not clear.
"Kaili ..." The woman was a little surprised to hear the news she received. She was stunned.
"Right. And she almost even teamed up with me in a group to finish the project this time. I refused firmly. The spoiled woman who never worked and didn't have any experience wanted to take on a big project and side with me. Huh, did she think it was his father's company who could be at will?"
Silvia was shaking her glass, her thoughts were wandering, which must be all she thought was about Kaili.
Kaili, how would she face that woman? Of course, she was unwilling to! Indirectly, that woman had snatched her fiancé! But she couldn't do anything to her either! She couldn't, because Dexter would hate her someday. She couldn't, because her parents would punish her! She couldn't, because of her sin five years ago.
Silvia was still haunted by a great deal of guilt! She didn't dare to look Kaili in the eye, let alone, about giving her retaliation!
