Chapter 241 Shameless Strike and Shocking Talen

Bogeng was someone at the Second Cycle Origin Core realm, as well as someone who was deeply loyal to the Dragon Cauldron Overlord. For this war, he had accepted his master's orders, accompanying his master's young disciple Longshao Wenqin into battle.

But this was not done without any grievances whatsoever on his part.

Yes, he could not deny that Longshao Wenqin was a rare genius. In fact, no one could.

After all, despite the fact that they were at the same cultivation level, Longshao Wenqin was still in the prime of his youth and had a lot more time to grow. On the other hand, Bogeng had already exhausted his lifeforce, and would probably never advance in his cultivation for the rest of his life.

However, Bogeng never liked how Wenqin always pretended to be all weak and humble in front of his master, yet always acted all full of himself in his master's absence.

What a hypocrite. Bogeng always thought this to himself whenever he saw the abrupt changes in Wenqin's attitude.

Even so, his master had asked this of him, so he could only oblige. All in all, accompanying Wenqin into battle could only be said to be a thankless job that he was doing purely out of obligation.

Until now, that is.

Looking at the situation now, perhaps this was actually a godsent opportunity for him?

As long as he took care of the two young brats in front of him, he could possibly become the person who was single-handedly responsible for resolving a crisis for the Dragon Cauldron Army!

At that point in time, his master should look upon him a little better as well, and at least give him tasks more important than just being a butler!

With that thought in mind, Bogeng no longer hesitated.

In order to avoid being discovered, he first descended to the ground, mixing in with the Dragon Cauldron Army soldiers as though he was one of them. After which, he stealthily made his way forward, towards the target that he had already locked onto in his mind.

Oblivious about the approaching danger, Beimu Fei continued to channel her Essence energy into the protruding rock in front of her.

Around her, the squad under her command were on high alert, periodically fending off any enemy soldiers that wandered close. They were responsible for protecting Beimu Fei, and were thus doing their best to provide her the luxury of concentrating on her task at hand.

Beimu Fei had her eyes closed at this moment. Beads of sweat trickled down from her forehead as she strained her perception to the fullest, delving into the depths of the rock.

Right now, she was carefully exploring its inner structure. Only when she fully understood it could she truly convert it into a formation node with confidence.

After all, each of these rocks varied in shapes and sizes, and these small differences resulted in slight deviations that when unaccounted for, could completely throw off the calculations that had been done for a grand formation of such magnitude.

For the first few instances, Beimu Fei had been distracted by the battles around them that inevitably created wild energy undulations, unsettling the balance of World Origin Energy in the surroundings.

Thus, she had required Lu Tianzi's help when calculating the internal structure of these rocks, slowly determining their properties and what part they would play in the grand scheme of things.

But as expected of someone who had been learning from Formation Master Beimu for years, she got the hang of it after a few attempts.

Now, she was already able to do it completely on her own.

This meant that the two of them could now work separately, spreading out across the battlefield and thus greatly speeding up the rate at which they were completing their task.

Unfortunately, this also meant that she was now away from the protection that Lu Tianzi could have provided.

Of course, not to mention Beimu Fei, but even her master Formation Master Beimu did not take into consideration the possibility of what was to come.

They were close, real close.

There were just a few more rocks left. After which, they would have finally completed their task of converting all required rocks, finally setting up the formation nodes that they needed.

And then victory would be theirs!

But it was at this crucial moment that the enemy struck.

Bogeng charged out from the crowds, attacking with complete disregard for the unwritten rules of war.

He summoned forth wind blades that slashed forward mercilessly, reaping away the lives of anyone in his way.

Around him, fresh blood spurt into the air in all directions, instantly dyeing the ground red.

Everyone here on the ground was below the Origin Core realm. Even for the members of Beimu Fei's squad, they were no exception.

They might be able to handle Essence Condensation realm opponents, but against the power of an Origin Core realm martial artist, they were completely helpless to resist.

"Lady Beimu, run!" one of them stepped forward, using his body to block a wind blade that had been fired straight at Beimu Fei.

Slash-!

The wind blade struck him squarely on the chest, instantly tearing away his flesh and exposing the bare ribs underneath. In fact, some of the ribs were even shattered from the impact, and his heart directly exploded in a burst of blood.

His eyes lost all luster, and his body fell to the ground limply, no longer able to move for the rest of eternity.

Despite his sacrifice, he had managed to delay Bogeng by no more than a single breath of time.

This was the absolute difference between an Origin Core realm martial artist and an Essence Condensation realm martial artist!

Bogeng did not even bat an eyelid, summoning forth even more wind blades and firing them straight at Beimu Fei.

Sensing danger, Beimu Fei forcefully broke her connection with the protruding rock. She turned around and was dumbfounded by what she was seeing.

An Origin Core realm martial artist was actually heading straight for her!

But weren't the Origin Core realm martial artists supposed to be kept busy by the sky battle?

Not good, did he notice what she was doing?

Countless thoughts ran through her mind, but now was not the time to harp on them. Beimu Fei drew out a token from her spatial ring, activating it without hesitation.

Upon coming into contact with her Essence energy, the token started giving off a warm green light.

When this green light came into contact with the ground, countless vines shot up from underneath the tall grass, quickly joining together to form a huge wall in front of Beimu Fei.

Thud-! Thud-! Thud-!

The wind blades struck the wall of vines, but the wall held firm, not even shaking from the impact. Shallow marks appeared on the surface of the vines, but it did not seem to pose much of a threat.

Behind it, Beimu Fei could not help but let out a sigh of relief.

If not for this wall of vines, the consequences could have been unimaginable!

But Bogeng's attack did not stop here.

He naturally understood that for excellent younglings, their elders would surely pass them some items to aid them in times of crisis.

Even so, items were only items. How could they possibly compare to a true-blue Origin Core realm expert like he was?

Bogeng leapt up from the ground as he continued sending out numerous wind blades, seeking to fly high enough to circumvent the defence of the vine walls.

Still, this token had been given to Beimu Fei by her master Formation Master Beimu, and was meant to be her life-saving trump card. Given how much Formation Master Beimu cared for Beimu Fei, how would she ever give something that could be so easily bypassed?

The wall of vines continued to grow, drawing a circle with Beimu Fei at the centre. Ultimately, it closed up at the top, forming a hemisphere that completely sealed off Beimu Fei together with the protruding rock that she had been converting.

Bogeng paused for a moment upon seeing this.

With that, there was no longer any way to bypass the wall of vines. If he still wanted to get Beimu Fei, he would have to get through this wall somehow.

Since that is the case, he shall do just that!

An illusory fan shimmered into existence behind him as energy undulations swept across the ground.

Earlier, he had been trying to maintain a low profile, even choosing to stay on the ground instead of flying before he made his move. After all, it had always been an unwritten rule that Origin Core realm martial artists should not interfere with battles below the Origin Core realm.

What he was doing right now was essentially bullying those of the younger generation, and it was not exactly the most honourable of acts.

But now that he had already done so, what need was there to hide any longer?

There was naturally no need for him to keep restraining himself.

Therefore, he had directly summoned his Origin Totem, preparing to eliminate the target with all his strength!

The Origin Core realm martial artists on the side of the Scarlet Moon Army frowned upon seeing this, and even many of those on the side of the Dragon Cauldron Army let out expressions of disbelief.

None of them had expected that despite the sky battle developing into such an intense situation, one of them would actually choose to attack the soldiers on the ground instead!

How shameless!

With this rage fueling their hearts, it was as though the Origin Core realm martial artists of the Scarlet Moon Army had suddenly gained strength beyond what they possessed.

They pushed forward with huge strides, and those on the side of the Dragon Cauldron Army actually faltered.

With how ferociously the Scarlet Moon Army experts were fighting, it almost felt as though the strength boost that Longshao Wenqin had provided with the Cauldron of Draconic Force no longer existed.

In an instant, the battle in the sky became that much more even.

But thanks to Bogeng's actions, not everyone was able to focus on the battle anymore.

"Fei'er!" Formation Master Beimu called out in worry.

She was just about to abandon her fight altogether when her eyes suddenly lit up in surprise. Since when did he make his move?

Bogeng drove the Slaughter Essence in his inner world to the limit, and an enormous wind blade formed in the air before him. Just by the formation of the wind blade, powerful winds stirred in the surroundings, causing everyone's hair and clothes to flutter wildly in the wind.

This was Bogeng's strongest attack, and his target was none other than the hemisphere of vines that was protecting Beimu Fei.

He wanted to see just how strong this wall of vines truly was!

But right before he struck, Bogeng suddenly felt a chill run down his spine.

This was… the sense of danger?

Bogeng could not help but turn his attention away from the wall of vines below. When he looked upwards, his eyes could not help but widen in shock.

An Origin Core realm martial artist of the Scarlet Moon Army was already almost right upon him, slashing down with his dual sabres!

"Damn it!" Bogeng had no choice but to change the target of his attack, directing it up towards his new opponent.

In response, his opponent slashed down with both sabres simultaneously, not cowering at all from his all out attack.

Bang-!

The two sabres collided with the huge wind blade from Bogeng, resulting in a storm of energy that actually forced Bogeng to retreat a short distance.

It was only when the storm of energy calmed down that Bogeng finally managed to take a good look at his opponent. And when he did, Bogeng could not help but feel a strong sense of unease.

His opponent gave off a stern and battle hardened aura as he held a sabre in each hand. Along with his short black hair, tanned skin, and being fully decked out in armaments, he looked just like a seasoned veteran on the battlefield.

But that was not what gave Bogeng the chills.

What Bogeng was concerned about was the fact that despite being only at the First Cycle Origin Core realm, this opponent of his was still able to match Bogeng's all out attack earlier.

And this was even without his opponent summoning his Origin Totem!

This kind of shocking combat talent, perhaps it could even be comparable to their Longshao Wenqin?

"Who the hell are you?" Bogeng asked with a deep frown.

He could clearly see the condescendence in his opponent's eyes, not showing the slightest hint of worry despite facing Bogeng who was of a higher cultivation level.

"Mosha."

His opponent spoke without hiding his disgust, almost as though he felt insulted simply by speaking to Bogeng. "Remember this name, you shameless coward, for it belongs to the one who is about to end your worthless life."
