"Mosha? You are the fourth son of the Scarlet Moon Overlord, Prince Mosha?" Bogeng's frown only deepened when he heard the name.
Bogeng never thought that this random person who had seemingly appeared out of nowhere would actually be a famous character of the Scarlet Moon Army.
Even though he had not been too interested in the war, that did not mean he would be oblivious to what was happening around him.
During the war, there were many individuals who had exhibited strengths that far exceeded their peers, allowing them to stand out from among the masses.
Out of them all, Nanlu Tianzi had shone the brightest due to his feats that could only be termed as miraculous. However, he definitely was not the only one who had managed to make his name known.
Due to his excellent performance in the many battles before today, Fourth Prince Mosha was also among those who had managed to grab the attention of friends and foes alike.
Despite having only recently broken through to the Origin Core realm, Fourth Prince Mosha was able to exhibit a level of strength far beyond ordinary First Cycle Origin Core realm martial artists. In fact, he was even able to contend with those at the Second and Third Cycle Origin Core realms on equal footing!
Unfortunately, his cultivation level was still too low. That was the reason why Marshal Xianming had excluded him from the group that rushed at Marshal Shengding earlier.
Thus, after the initial rush failed, Mosha had joined the rest of the Origin Core realm martial artists, fighting to rush to the aid of Marshal Xianming's group.
Yet regardless of the race for time, he had never stopped watching the battle on the ground.
When Bogeng first struck out, Mosha had reacted instantly, breaking away from the main group to head straight for him.
Mosha might not have been able to reach Bogeng instantly, but Formation Master Beimu's token bought him the time he needed. That was how he became the only one who was able to arrive in time to stop Bogeng from unleashing his all out attack upon Beimu Fei.
With this, he had prevented a potential tragedy from happening to one of the greatest talents of the Scarlet Moon Kingdom.
Standing in the air, Mosha cast his gaze down upon Bogeng with genuine disgust.
Earlier in the war, the Dragon Cauldron Army had once sent an Origin Core realm martial artist to hunt down Nanlu Tianzi, chasing him into the wilderness. Since Nanlu Tianzi ended up fine, the Scarlet Moon Army had decided not to pursue the matter.
Who knew that the Dragon Cauldron Army would actually take their lack of response as a form of weakness, trying the same trick once again, and this time on Beimu Fei?
How despicable!
If this act was not punished today, the Dragon Cauldron Army would probably never stop trying!
"What? You want to kill me?" Bogeng sneered upon seeing the cold gaze bearing down upon him. "Perhaps it might be possible if you go cultivate for another thousand years. I admit that you might be stronger than me now. But with your current strength, it is still insufficient to take my life."
Mosha did not bother exchanging words with Bogeng. This was a battlefield, and there was no point in participating in a war of words with his opponent.
He stepped forward, the two sabres in his hands slashing out at the same time.
At the same time of his attack, an illusory figure appeared behind Mosha. His features were blurred, but he released out an unmistakably domineering aura as he sat firmly on a royal throne, the crown on his head shining with resplendence.
Domineering and insurmountable, as though he was the ruler of all life. This was none other than Mosha's Origin Totem!
After summoning forth his Origin Totem, Mosha's sabre attacks were incomparable to before. Sabre light flashed through the sky, heading straight for Bogeng.
With their earlier exchange, Bogeng had already gained a rough understanding of Mosha's strength.
Since even his all out attack had been dealt with by Mosha so easily, there was naturally no need for him to stay and continue to fight this meaningless battle.
What he said earlier was the truth. There was no doubt that Mosha was stronger than him.
"You are indeed as strong as the rumours say, but this is as far as things go. I shall not entertain you any longer!" Bogeng retreated immediately.
By retreating now, Bogeng was essentially giving up on his initial target Beimu Fei. Even so, he made the decision in a split second, not even taking an additional moment to reconsider.
After all, now that Mosha had locked onto him, Bogeng would be putting his life in danger if he wanted to continue pursuing his target.
How was that worth it at all?
He might be considered to have already depleted his lifeforce in terms of cultivation, but he actually still had a couple hundred years of lifespan left.
As long as he returned to the Dragon Cauldron Kingdom, not to mention his status as an aide of the Dragon Cauldron Overlord, just the fact that he was an Origin Core realm expert would allow him to enjoy comfort for the rest of his life.
In comparison, whether or not they won this battle was of no real concern to him. Even if they lost, the Scarlet Moon Army would be stopping here at Rockfall Plain. They would never be able to threaten the core of the Dragon Cauldron Kingdom where he lived!
Bogeng hurriedly moved out of the way, barely dodging the two flashes of sabre light.
He did not stop there either, choosing to continue retreating as he sought to create as much distance as possible between him and Mosha.
But how would Mosha allow him to escape so easily?
If Bogeng could attack the Essence Condensation realm martial artists once, he could attack them twice. As long as he was out there, who knew how many times he would threaten their ground soldiers in the future?
In order to rid themselves of such future trouble, Bogeng had to die now!
Mosha immediately gave chase, soaring through the sky right behind Bogeng.
When Bogeng saw this scene, he could not help but feel his heart skip a beat. Mosha was actually so adamant on taking him down?
But when he thought about it a little more, realisation suddenly struck him like a bolt of lightning. Bogeng could not help but swallow his saliva nervously as his forehead became wet from cold sweat.
He screwed up this time!
In previous battles, Origin Core realm martial artists had always only made probing attacks, unwilling to commit fully to take down their opponents. This meant that even if someone was defeated in battle, it would be relatively easy to preserve his life as long as he could retreat back to his side of the battlefield.
However, this was only because his allies would be at the ready, and any overzealous pursuers would be instantly surrounded and attacked.
But where were his allies now?
They were all higher up in the sky, engaged in a fierce battle to delay the Scarlet Moon Army reinforcements from reaching Marshal Xianming!
This meant that he was all alone right now, with no one around to help him fend off the ferocious Mosha!
"Shit!" Bogeng drove his Slaughter Essence to the limit, trying to escape as quickly as he could.
Even so, Mosha caught up in an instant.
It was not just their combat strength. Even their movement speeds were on completely different levels.
"Die!" Mosha slashed forward, the rays of blazing sun reflecting off the beautiful curvatures of his sabres as the twin blades rapidly approached Bogeng.
"As if I will die here!" Bogeng roared as he turned around, channeling all of his Essence energy as he struck forth with the strongest wind blade he could muster.
Bang-!
The wind blade shattered, and Mosha's dual sabres tore right through Bogeng's protective armour, carving a deep cross onto his torso. Blood splattered, pouring like crimson rain onto the ground below.
Bogeng's eyes glazed over.
He was not dead yet, but he was not far from it.
The earlier strike had almost reached his heart. Had that been the case, he would already be falling along with the rain of blood, destined to be buried in Rockfall Plain.
"Sir Wenqin…" Bogeng muttered subconsciously as he looked up towards the sky.
He could feel the warmth of the sun rays shining upon his skin. When the battle first began, he would never have expected that he would be landing himself in such a situation.
Mosha brought his sabre up into the air, its blade still dripping with fresh blood.
"This is the end," Mosha spoke with unbridled killing intent.
Yet at this very moment, Mosha could sense danger approaching at great speed from above.
Mosha widened his eyes in shock. He dared not hesitate, immediately retreating as he directed his perception upwards.
Indeed, there was a figure that was diving down from the sky, charging straight towards him. Had Mosha continued with his sabre slash earlier, he would have been left defenceless against this new enemy!
Mosha roared.
His tanned skin started giving off a slight emerald colour, and the fur on his body started growing thicker. His fingernails and canines grew longer as well, forming pointed edges similar to claws and fangs.
A deep sense of danger swept across the surrounding, causing Bogeng to shudder in trepidation.
This was the activation of a primal beast bloodline!
To think that Mosha had not even used his true strength when facing him earlier!
What a terrifying genius, but it was all for naught. Because the person whom Mosha was about to face was even more monstrous of a genius!
Wenqin raised his right arm, smashing it straight down towards Mosha. Illusory strings shimmered into existence behind him, weaving together to form something that resembled a spider web.
At the same time, Mosha slashed out with both of his sabres. He appeared as domineering as ever, especially with the illusory emperor floating right behind him.
Just like that, Wenqin's fist smashed directly against Mosha's dual sabres.
Bang-!
The clash between them was on a whole other level, especially as compared to when Mosha was fighting Bogeng.
Wild energy undulations swept across the ground, causing a storm of energy that forced everyone to adopt a defensive stance. The two of them were too close to the ground, and their collision too fierce, such that just the aftershocks of their fight had a direct impact on the ground soldiers nearby.
In fact, some who had lower cultivation levels were directly blown away by the powerful shockwaves!
Yet no matter how fierce the collision was, there would still be a winner.
Faced with Wenqin's seemingly unimpressive punch, Mosha actually found himself at a disadvantage, and was sent tumbling back towards the ground!
Seeing Mosha approaching from above, the ground soldiers hurriedly cleared the way, not wanting to get involved with this battle that was far beyond what they could deal with.
Mosha landed safely on his feet, his arms crossed defensively in front of his chest. A trail of blood spilt from the corner of his mouth, leading down to his chin before finally dripping onto the tall grass of Rockfall Plain.
A cold light flashed across his eyes as he stared up at the figure standing in the air.
How could Mosha not recognise this figure?
After all, he had announced his name to Marshal Xianming just a while ago. At that moment, every Origin Core realm martial artist in the air had heard it loud and clear.
He was none other than the person who had saved Marshal Shengding earlier, the personal disciple of the Dragon Cauldron Overlord, Longshao Wenqin!
From the highest point in the sky, this Longshao Wenqin had actually descended all the way down here to fight him?
Since when? And why?
Even if Bogeng was being chased down and was about to be killed, it was unlikely that such a figure would bother to rush down just to save a minor character like Bogeng.
But other than that, what else could be the reason?
Mosha did not fully understand the situation, but what he knew was that he must not let down his guard when facing his current opponent.
He had faced many opponents at the Second Cycle Origin Core realm over the course of the war, but this was the very first time that he had been overpowered despite summoning forth all of his strength.
Without a doubt, this Longshao Wenqin was a combat genius with martial talent no less than his own.
Facing such an opponent, Mosha knew that even the slightest mistake could result in an instantaneous loss!
At the same time, Wenqin frowned in dissatisfaction.
He had originally intended to get rid of Mosha in a single strike. Who knew that he would only be able to deal some light internal injuries to Mosha?
Even if the opponent was the famous Fourth Prince Mosha, he was still an opponent with a lower cultivation level than himself!
Unacceptable, this situation was truly unacceptable.
It had always only been him jumping ranks to fight others, never the other way around.
There was no two ways about it. If he let this fight drag on any longer, it would only be a stain on his reputation.
Looks like he would really have to get serious now in order to quickly wrap things up on this end!
