Chapter 19：One Dollar

Jack mom said "Your dad did that to you? I'll not leave him. My poor son!"

She said "Alright, go for it. But wait! When you proposed her?"

He said "Let me continue!"

She said "Alright, alright!"

Next morning, I texted Salang "I won't be able to pick you up coz dad took back the keys and told me to walk to the school."

She replied "There no problem, be safe bye!"

"You too!"

I took a shower and get myself ready for school. Dad told me to eat something but I didn't listen to him and went my ways. Chlori granny stopped me and told me to eat some. I said that I'll be late for the school so I left.

At the school, I felt very hungry. I saw everyone eating something which makes me more hungrier. (When I'm full no one seems to eat anything near me, but now when I'm hungry everyone is eating something, and the main point is, in front of me).

Salang came near me and asked "Is everything alright?"

"Yeah! No problem!"

"Can I sit here?" She pointed on my bench.

"Yes, obviously!"

She said "We had a test tomorrow, I might get less marks!"

"Why?"

"I haven't studied yet, and I have many doubts."

"Ask me, I'll help you clearing you doubts."

"Have you bought physic book?"

"Yes! Here you go." I placed the book on the table.

"Here, this one! I don't understand this."

I explained her and she understood what I told her.

She said "You are great, you teaches so well."

I said "If you have any doubt ask me alright!"

"Okay!"

The bell rang, recess period was over.

"Oh no! I wanted to ask you more!" She said.

"You can ask me anytime."

"Okay then see you, bye." She smiled.

I smiled back and said "Bye!"

And the she went to her classroom.

The only thing in my stomach was hydrochloric acid, which sounds crazy. At that moment my nose became very sensitive, the back benchers were eating some snacks I could smell the odour of the snacks. I won't be able to describe how I felt but I was so so hungry.

After the school, I saw Salang was leaving, I stopped her and asked "Do you have money?"

She asked "Money! How much?"

"I don't know but I want something to eat, I'm very hungry! Can you give me some?"

"I have 1 dollar. Take it!"

"You?"

"No I'm fine! I'll leave, my friends are waiting for me."

"Okay, thank you! Bye."

"Bye, see you!" She said and left.

As I was walking to the canteen, I realized when she was giving me the money I saw her bag there was nothing left. She had only one dollar and gave it to me without any hesitation. I won't let this money gone. I'll keep it with me, forever. I was hungry but I haven't spent that one dollar.

I returned home and Chlori granny took my bag and let me sit on the dinning, she serve my favorite food which I can't resist. She told me to eat well. It was very tasty. My hunger goes out and I was feeling very energetic.

That day, I came to know the power and importance of money and food, which I used to waste all my life, but not from now. I remember the day when I threw all the food by saying that it has less salt. It hurts me so much. I felt guilty. God give everyone in this world to remorse the past, be good in present and change our future from worst to a happy healing future, he had given me the chance at that very moment, to change myself.
