Chapter 17:A game that became dangerous.

I ran, chasing butterflies and crickets. Sometimes I bumped into one of Fathers friends and they would return me to Dad, because I ran away ' too far'. It wasn't far!!! It was just enough distance from Father, so that I didn't get lost..... wait, maybe it was far.... I won't get lost if I'm in the radius of 500 metres from Father. That was the limit of my wind magic. Oops...

" Can you not get caught? I know you can use wind magic to find me, so try to use it in order to avoid those guys, please! They are so annoying!"

" Okay, Dad. I'll be more careful~" I answered grinning. 'Father, you know, even if I will no longer get caught, your friends will tattle on you to mom anyways~" He placed me back on the ground. I send him mischievous look and disappear in the high grass. I could see how his face is filled confusion and giggled a little. ' Good luck ~'

****************

I was running around for good half-an-hour before collapsing in the middle of the field out of exhaustion. Soft, prickly grass was tickling my bare feet and beautiful Ago-birds, that were flying high in the azure sky, captivated my sight by their elegance. I closed my eyes and felt how lively wind was quivering the grass above my head.

Suddenly, I heard flapping sounds descending from the sky. When I opened my eyes, To my great surprise the biggest Ago-bird I'd seen, landed just few meters away from me. I stood up and wanted to approach it.

' Hey, me! What are you doing?! It's about your size and you if it decides to attack you, you won't be able to fight back with that puny magic of yours!'

My rational self tried to convince the childish soul, but it was all in vain. I moved closer and as I was almost able to touch those fiery feathers on its wings, it moved a little to the side and my hand grabbed the air. Irritation filled my heart, as I tried to get a hold of its feathers. However, when I was literarily one centimeter away from my goal, it would move and my hands remain empty. Greatly annoyed, I wanted to ignore this haughty bird, that didn't allow me to touch itself. I sat on the ground, turned away from it and pretended not to see it.

Suddenly, I felt softness and warmth on my back and turned shocked. This Haughty Ago-bird was gently brushing its wings against my back. I bounced back on my feet and grabbed its long feathers. Startled the bird flap its wings and got away from me! I chased it around and didn't notice how I absentmindedly left the ' detection zone' and field itself. When I finally came back to my senses, I was inside the Great forest, that could be seen from the village. Deadly silence and howling wind filled the air creating ominous atmosphere, and in the short distance away from me, the Ago-bird was extending its wing as if encouraging me to continue our game of tag.
