Chapter 471 - Don't Die, Suzy (yet)

After Hunter and Mia left the wedding venue in a fancy limousine which was waiting for the newlyweds to take them to the airport, Hunter told Mia about Suzy.

Mia wanted to see Suzy personally, so they made a stop at the safehouse.

Mia and Hunter were not pressured for time because they were taking a private jet that was waiting for them.

They found Suzy in a room without windows, gagged, and sitting on a chair with her arms tied at the back.

Suzy's eyes were half-closed, and due to exhaustion, she didn't even try to break free.

After the excitement of hiring people to sabotage Mia's bachelorette's party (and watching her plan fail), Suzy barely slept on the previous night because she was with Julian Temple. She managed to get into the venue where the wedding was organized, and she reached the kitchen, but her plan was foiled and she woke up in this unknown place, tied up.

The door opened with a click and Suzy's eyes flashed in excitement when she saw Hunter. Her motivation dwindled a second later when Mia entered the room.

Hunter removed the cloth which was obstructing Suzy's mouth and Suzy licked her dried lips persistently. She was thirsty. She hoped that next, Hunter will untie her hands, but Hunter and Mia stood in place and observed Suzy in silence.

"Can I get some water?", Suzy asked in a hoarse voice.

"What were you thinking?", Hunter asked while ignoring her question.

Suzy swallowed a mouthful of air while connecting the dots. She was tied up, and Hunter was watching her grimly and the last thing she remembered was that she was caught while spiking drinks in the kitchen. But maybe, just maybe, Hunter didn't know everything. She decided to probe the situation. "What do you mean?"

Hunter shook his head in disapproval. "I knew that you are obsessed and crazy, and I chose to ignore you with the hope that you will get to your senses. However, you went to harm my wife and her friends. For what? What did you think you will achieve? Even if you succeeded, everyone affected would get medical treatment, and at most, you would create us a financial loss by spoiling the wedding."

Suzy pressed her lips into a line as she realized that Hunter knows about the reason she was in the kitchen. That was bad. But the good thing was that he was not aware of all the other times Suzy tried to sabotage Mia and her relationship with Hunter.

"ANSWER ME!", Hunter roared, making Suzy jolt.

"What do you want me to say?", Suzy asked. "You know that I love you. For many years, I'm watching you, hungrily collecting every bit of information related to you and things were fine until…" Suzy's eyes darted toward Mia. "This woman showed up."

"Things were fine between us? When did that happen?", Hunter asked in disbelief. Before Suzy could answer, Hunter asked his next question: "Did you think that by embarrassing Mia, you will get a chance with me?"

Suzy wondered how much she should say. But then she thought how Hunter already knows what she did, so at least she could explain why she did it. Surely, he will understand her reasons. "She seduced you to the point of not seeing the reality, but after taking that drink, she would embarrass herself and your family. I'm sure that your infatuation with her would crumble under the social pressure, and you would be free again."

"If it's true what you said, that you are watching me for years, then you would know Mia is special and that I don't care about the social pressure."

"Special?", Suzy snorted. "She is just another girl who wants you for your money." She looked at Hunter pitifully. "I am the only one who loves you for who you are. Give me a chance to prove it."

Mia burst into laughter. "You are crazier than I thought. Instead of thinking about why I'm with him, why don't you ask yourself why Hunter is with me? Do you really think that my bedroom skills are so majestic that I can trick a man like Hunter to marry me? Surely, I have more than that."

Mia tilted her head and smiled mockingly. "I would tell you to wake up, but it's too late for that. You went after me too many times, and this time you even tried to hurt my friends."

Suzy sneered. "What are you going to do about it?"

Mia's smile widened as she started flipping a butterfly knife, doing some fancy tricks without looking at the hand in which the sharp knife danced. Hunter wondered, from where that knife came? Ah, his wife is full of surprises.

Suzy narrowed her eyes. She didn't believe that Mia will actually hurt her. Surely, this is only a show to intimidate her. A bunch of cheap tricks that…

"Ahh!", Suzy screamed when she felt the sharp pain on her cheek and the warmth spreading. Suzy wanted to reach for it, but her hands were tied at her back.

"You cut me!", Suzy was frantic. Her pretty face was ruined. Will Hunter like her now?

"Mhm…", Mia hummed. "And this is just the beginning…"

Mia opened the door and waved for two guys to come in. They were Fabricio's (actually Mia's) men.

They bowed respectfully and greeted, "Young Miss…", indicating that they are ready for orders.

"Make sure she does not bleed to death and take her to our home. Before you lock her in the dungeon, give her a tour of the property. I want her to see the villa and the gardens. Make sure she experiences full hospitality our dungeon provides, but I want her alive."

Two men nodded in agreement.

"Lock me in the dungeon?", Suzy repeated while looking at Mia in disbelief. Do they live in the middle-ages?

Mia smirked at Suzy. "Your mistake was to dismiss me as some money-hungry nobody. While my subordinates give you a tour, make sure to keep your eyes open. I don't want you to miss the fact that I don't need Hunter's money or his influence. And when we come back from our honeymoon, I will beat into you the fact that I am better than you in every possible way." Mia saw that Suzy was horrified and that tears started pooling into her eyes. "Crying will not help you, and if you are noisy, they will gag you again. We will be back in two weeks, and until then… don't die, Suzy."

Suzy watched as Mia and Hunter walked out. "Wait! WAIT! WA…"

Her next shout was muffled by the cloth that was tied over her mouth.

Suzy struggled a bit, but soon she realized that it was in vain. The men who tugged her out of the room were too strong for her to resist.

Suzy stepped out of the safe house just in time to see the limousine drive away, and she knew that it's taking Mia and Hunter to their honeymoon.

Suzy was angry and dejected and confused. Who is Mia? Why are those people following Mia's orders? Did Mia say dungeon, villa, gardens, and she insinuated that she is rich? Nothing made sense but Suzy knew that she was in trouble when they pushed her inside a van. There was a sharp pain at the back of her neck and everything turned dark.

"Are you OK?", Hunter asked Mia while rubbing her shoulder gently.

Mia nodded. "I am fine. Are you sure that you can arrange for Suzy's disappearance without invoking suspicion?"

"Don't worry about it. Max and Q got it covered. Julian has his story of how Suzy arrived with him to the wedding and after going to the restroom before the ceremony she didn't return. There is a video of Suzy leaving with an older gentleman, and several people will confirm that they saw them talking and flirting."

Mia approved. They thought of everything. "I can't believe how persistent she is…", Mia paused her words because talking more about Suzy will only get her upset. "I will think about Suzy when we come back."

"I like how you said that you are not with me for my money and for the influence.", Hunter said proudly. "Why did you decide to marry me?"

Mia pursed her lips while thinking about how to answer. "There are several reasons, but I think it's a tie between your charming personality and endurance."

"Endurance?"

"Sex.", Mia clarified, and she giggled when she saw Hunter grinning.

"When will you tell me where we are going?"

"Se-cret…", Hunter said mysteriously. "You will find out in the morning. I can tell you that we are going to catch a flight, and then take a boat to reach our honeymoon spot."

Hunter saw that curiosity was bubbling inside Mia, but he wanted to keep it as a surprise.

Tomorrow morning, they will reach their destination, in time for breakfast.

He knew that Mia loves traveling, and he couldn't pick a city or a specific place, and jumping through several cities didn't sound right, so he decided on something unique. It's a private island which Hunter secured for this honeymoon with help from Max.

The island is in a tropical climate and it comes with a villa that provides all the modern commodities, and staff who will come to clean and cook without invading their privacy.

Mia and Hunter will also get to enjoy majestic spots of nature such as the white sand beach, the colorful coral reef where they can go snorkeling, a system of caves and underground lakes for them to explore, a jungle full of tropical birds, and there are a zipline and jet skis.

Ah, Hunter was confident that Mia will love it, especially because the two of them will be the only guests. In case that Mia wants more people nearby, several cities are available within one hour drive with the powerboat. It will be perfect.
