397 Weekend in Sin City 13

The wedding chapel was small and clean. Actually, it was one rectangle-shaped room with colorful mosaic windows at the far end behind the altar, which gave it a church-like feel. The small crystal chandeliers hanging from the ceiling looked out of place, and the flower petals scattered on the floor were half-withered, probably because they are there since the chapel opened for business early that morning.

The light gray carpet stretched from the entry door straight toward the altar, with rows of chairs on each side.

The chapel could accommodate about thirty guests and it was one of the largest fast-wedding chapels available. No one comes to Sin City with a big wedding party. Couples come here to elope, and they get married with a handful of friends at most (usually gambling-buddies they met on the previous night).

Max and Hunter were with Quentin next to the altar and it was obvious that the two Anderson brothers don't approve of the venue.

"You couldn't wait for a week or two and book something decent? Maybe invite some people?", Max asked Quentin.

"I don't want to wait, and Bri does not want more people. This is fine.", Quentin responded.

Quentin was not worried about the chapel or the lack of guests. Quentin's concern was that his fiery Goddess will change her mind and bolt at the last moment, leaving him behind.

"This is once in a lifetime. You are not giving her a very good memory, Q…", Hunter chimed in.

Quentin groaned. "We can get married ten more times if needed, all around the world."

"If you want to get married to her ten more times, why not skip the first time and go for the second one? Hopefully, that one is classier.", Max's said sarcastically.

Quentin rolled his eyes. "This is not about class, it's about love. Is my necktie fine?"

Max checked his phone. "You should worry more if your bride is coming."

Quentin froze and the color drained from his face. "What?"

Max chuckled. "They are outside."

Quentin narrowed his eyes at Max. "I will get you for this one, M. I almost had a heart attack!"

The girls got in, Mia and Liz first and they joined Hunter and Max at the altar.

Max was eyeing Liz with a charming smile on his handsome face, making her blush.

Hunter wiggled his eyebrows playfully at Mia, and she giggled because she knew that Hunter is undressing her in his mind.

The light music started from somewhere and Brianna stepped inside.

When Brianna crossed about half the distance toward Quentin, he could not stay still. He moved to meet her.

"You are beautiful…", Quentin said when Brianna placed her hand into his. "I only wish that this place is better."

Brianna smiled. "As long as the man holding my hand is you, I don't care where we are. You know that I never cared about the location." She ended with a playful wink.

A warm and fuzzy feeling exploded in Quentin's chest and his smile reflected that.

Quentin and Brianna stood in front of the altar and stared at each other in silence.

"Mhm…", the middle-aged man with big round spectacles cleared his throat to get everyone's attention. He is the officiator for this wedding.

No one noticed him so far and they wondered from where he popped out.

"We can start whenever you are ready…", the man said.

Quentin gave a small nod, and the man started his speech.

The ceremony was short and to the point. Neither Quentin nor Brianna had their vows.

After they exchanged 'I-dos', Max handed them the rings, and Quentin and Brianna sealed it with a hot kiss.

"Oh. My. God!", Mia exclaimed while hugging Brianna and Quentin at the same time. "You are married!"

Liz smiled until her cheeks hurt while waiting for her turn to congratulate the newlyweds and she did her best to avoid Max's gaze. He was looking at her intently and it made her all jittery inside.

'He is not thinking about getting married, is he?', Liz asked herself nervously.

Liz loves Max to pieces, but marriage is something she didn't think about. Her focus is on her career and having fun with Max, and marriage is not part of that equation. Is she against marriage? Liz is not sure.

Liz panicked. What if Max asks her to get married and insists to the point of her going through with it? What would Isaac say? Probably something like: 'You went to Seattle for your career and came back with a husband!'

Would Isaac be happy? Would she be happy? Ah, her palms are sweating!

"I thought you want to give me a hug..."

Brianna's words pulled Liz out of her thoughts. She didn't notice that Mia stepped away.

"Of course, Mrs. Reynolds!", Liz said with a smile and hugged Brianna, happy that she didn't plunge deeper into panic at the possibility of Max asking her to marry him right there on the spot.

Brianna cringed internally at the sound of 'Mrs. Reynolds'. It reminded her of Quentin's mother.

After hugs and congratulations, our group of six went into a limousine that took them to the private banquet hall which had one long table at the center, filled with all kinds of food.

The seating was available at the table, or on the comfy sofas that were next to the wall.

They had a mini-bar with a bartender, a television, and a private restroom. It was a perfect spot to spend a few hours while eating, drinking, and relaxing.

Mia's eyes sparkled while she eyed the vast food choices.

"Wow, Q! You know how to throw a party!", Mia exclaimed and licked her lips.

Quentin chuckled and glanced at Max. "Max was in charge of setting this up."

Mia whistled loudly and grinned at Max. "I look forward to your wedding!"

Liz froze at Mia's words and Brianna noticed.

"What happened, Liz?", Brianna asked innocently. "Mia mentioned Max's wedding. Did you feel that she is calling you out?"

Liz narrowed her eyes at Brianna, realizing that they are setting her up. If she confirms, that means how Liz IS thinking about getting married to Max, and if she denies, she will hurt Max's feelings. But Liz is not just anyone… she is Elizabeth Williams, and she can avoid traps.

"Worry about your marriage, and leave others alone.", Liz squeezed through her teeth.

Max's eyebrows shoot up and he smiled. She didn't say no, so… he has a chance!

He gave a mental thumbs-up to Brianna for asking those questions.

Of course, Max will not propose to Liz now, but he is testing the waters. Max is not in a rush like Quentin to tie the knot because Liz is a special kind of woman. Max knows that Liz needs to be eased up into these things (and maybe even tricked into it), or he might risk spooking her away.

The afternoon passed with food and laughter as Liz and Mia spoke about Brianna and the changes Brianna made since she met Quentin.

Brianna was not happy that Lia and Mia are making fun of her, and Quentin didn't mind whatever the clamor was about. He was smiling and feeding Brianna, his fiery Goddess... his wife.

Last night, Brianna said that she is not sure what is her status in Quentin's life, and he offered her to be his wife and she accepted it. He is elated beyond belief and unsure if this is a dream. He pinched himself secretly a few times, just to make sure.

"You are quiet…", Brianna voiced her thoughts to Quentin.

He leaned closer and kissed her on the lips. "I am happy."

Brianna felt her heart expanding. It was silly that those three small words can affect her so much, but she felt that he really means it.

She smiled and whispered against his lips: "Me too."

"Oy! Go to your room!", Mia exclaimed at newlyweds who started making out.

Quentin checked the time. "We need to leave in half an hour for our next destination."

Brianna understood that going to their room will need to wait.

No one commented on the fact that Mia started eating faster. Why does she always act like she is starving? Hunter is matching Mia in food intake, but he is a guy and bulkier, so he does not stand out so much.

"What is the plan for the rest of the day?", Brianna asked Quentin.

Quentin smiled smugly. "You will see… my wife."

Brianna giggled. "OK. Hubby."
