38 The Avengers

The village head came out of his hut after few minutes.He then looked at us and asked us to describe our gifts for others.

The first to start was an old man with white hair. He had a receding hairline and a lined face. He said his name was zhambul and he has gift to drill holes in wood. He said his gift is dependant on how deep he has to drill holes in objects. So, in case of vines he can reuse it multiple times.

The next to go was ordzol who was a white women with black hair flowing loosely down her shoulders. She said she has a gift to peel the layers of the bark and mostly works on helping tuya peel the bark out of roots for getting its natural fiber to make acadia.Her gift can peel the acadia but not completely remove it and she can reuse her gift only thrice a day.

The third was sayaar and she described that her gift can cut the vine. She said she is not able to cut the vine alone perfectly and her gift will usually take a chunk out of the trunk as well. Tulga whispered to me she is usually used to cut the vines when they have grown big and is on the verge of smothering the tree. As her gift can quickly cut the vine and lengthen the time for others to follow through.

The fourth was an asian featured teen called ochi who was younger and is the one on the same age as me I saw during my gifting ceremony.He had a gift that strengthens his hands and told us that he can break a zukr vine into two if he goes all out with his gift. But, he can't reuse his gift again after that.

The fifth one was a brown middle aged man with black mustache called Hunbish. He smiled at as with a goofy face and said his gift allows him to apply force between his two hands to crush objects.He said he can reuse his gift three or four times per day.

The sixth was a short dusky women with big breasts called dekhgui. She said she has a gift to displace short sections of inanimate objects for a few spaces. She said her gift depends on how thick the object to be displaced is and for zukr vines can reuse it multiple times a day.

Then came my turn, I intoduced myself and told them my gift can grow Ilphyr trees to their maturity and can also kill the zukr vines around it. They all looked at me in wonder when they heard it.

The last was Tulga and when she started speaking the old head waved her to stop.

"We all know what your gift is and what it can do." Everybody started laughing on hearing it and tulga looked down blushing. I thought there is something here she didn't tell me.

After we all finished the old head stared describing what we should do during yosdu. It went on till it became dark and only after he made sure that each of us know what we should do be doing did he let us go out.
