Chapter 272 - Gullible

"Oh, he's planning something," Yeo Ri stated plainly after seeing Mr. Woo outside of the studio where she had some [Runaway Kids] scenes left to film.

There he was, leaning against his foreign sports car, smiling widely as he caught sight of her.

He was moving even faster than the last creep who targeted her, though Yeo Ri wasn't so concerned about it. Mr. Woo had money, but his money couldn't buy the Police Commissioner or the Minister of Defense—Heo Woo Seung, however, had these connections free-of-charge. Apparently those people were his comrades or classmates or something.

"I have some people on standby," Secretary Kwon informed her. She shot him an annoyed look in response.

"They're temporary staff," he defended himself. "Also some police detectives who are working on a case that involves him. It's a long story," he added. He had guessed that he wasn't as clean as his records say, and the detectives had confirmed it. They couldn't press any charges against him though they had suspected him to have a hand in some of the unsolved missing persons cases.

"Hm. Pretty useful."

Kwon Tae Yang coughed, hiding a smile. Finally, the girl is acknowledging Mr. Heo!

"Miss Yeo Ri!" Woo Jin called out, waving at her. He jogged towards her, a refreshingly charming smile hanging on his face. One glance at him and no one would suspect that he was a pervert.

"I was in the area for some business matters and heard that you were here. If you're not busy, would you like to go to a café with me?"

What the f*ck is wrong with this late-twenties creep, Kwon Tae Yang inwardly heckled. Yeo Ri was well over a decade younger than him and here he was, openly hitting on her. Even he didn't have this kind of audacity. Not that he wanted to hit on her. Absolutely not!

Yeo Ri's eyes sparkled as though she was happy to see him. She glanced at Manager Kwon, looking as if she was worried over his reaction. "H-hello, Mr. Woo."

Kwon Tae Yang sighed. He could tell that Yeo Ri wanted to play around with the man, and no one can stop her. Lee Gun had not accompanied her, as it was one of the rare days he had work, thus the girl was uncontrollable.

"Miss Yeo Ri is busy. She does not have the time to sit around drinking coffee with some unknown man," Manager Kwon stated.

Woo Jin ignored the manager and spoke to Yeo Ri directly, "If you're not free, then how about I rent a food truck for you? Where's your next schedule at? I'll have one ready right away."

"Thank you, sir, but that's a bit too much," Yeo Ri bit her lips coyly. She appeared reluctant but happy at his offer.

Woo Jin appeared to be saddened by her rejection. "Oh, I see... I just wanted to do all I can as a fan, but..."

"Um..." Yeo Ri reached for the hem of his sleeve, "Thank you for your concern, sir. I really," she blushed, "appreciate it."

Kwon Tae Yang immediately snatched her hand away, and the girl displayed a cute pout, blinking her doe-like eyes angrily at the manager.

"How cute..." Woo Jin intentionally muttered under his breath, covering his smile with his hand.

"Ah..." Yeo Ri's blush deepened.

Kwon Tae Yang made a face that he had never made during work before.

Ick!

His hair raised at the two's faux flirting, and he pitied the dumb b*stard who didn't even have the capacity to realise that Yeo Ri was pretending. It showed just how deep her innocent image was rooted in other people's minds. What a scary girl!

"Miss Yeo Ri, it's getting late! Let's go!"

"See you soon, Miss Yeo Ri."

"Mhm! It was nice to see you, Mr. Woo!" Yeo Ri waved goodbye at him as she was dragged away by Secretary Kwon, a sweet smile on her face. Her eyes curved, showing a lovestruck look on her face.

...

..

.

Woo Jin toyed with the phone in his hand, a confident smirk on his face.

Such a naive girl.

A few compliments and she was already head over heels for him. It was obvious that she didn't have a lot of experience with men, and even less experience with the world considering how she had worn her heart on her sleeve. Girls like that were so easy to catch that it wasn't even fun anymore.

But no matter; he liked them young and stupid, anyways.

As boring as the process was, it was the result that mattered. He couldn't wait to break her and dye her with his colour. With her looks, he doubted he would tire of her anytime soon.

He laughed, thinking that he had already won.

Unbeknownst to him, his 'prey', too, was doubled over in laughter.
