This day was quite busy. I and my friends were all waiting for the news about Aisha's situation, but instead, we got different ones.
Hatta was visited by some officials from India early in the morning and then summoned us to talk about the scientific mission that United Nations wanted to send here. He had the proposition on paper, and we all could read it for ourselves.
In short, they wanted to establish here a facility with the scientist to conduct research on this world, alien civilizations, probably both Uhm's and Xuzards, and, obviously, on the device itself.
- Should we really let them mess with that thing? What if they break it? Not to mention The Great One. Will he be happy if we allow some egg-heads to mess with it? - asked Boris.
He was sitting on the edge of Hatta's desk, with the owner standing on his left side.
- Obviously not - said Blue, who was sitting in the chair for guests. - They can explore and map the land. Talk with all the aliens they want, and play with their technology, but we shouldn't even discuss allowing them to conduct research on the device itself. It's ridiculous.
- I actually agree with that - said Will, who has been sitting on the opposite side of Hatta's desk. - What do you think, Nobuo?
- I'm unsure, Will-san. I could agree if it would benefit the population of earth.
- First thing they will want to do is figure out how to gain more military force with it, or control us -said Amit. - I think most of us don't want them to put their hands on that thing, so let's just cross that out.
- Ok - Hatta agreed, and went to sit behind his desk, then found a piece of paper and started writing.
It took him maybe two to three minutes.
- Any other propositions? - he asked immediately as he finished.
- Yes - said Blue - I want the chairman of the scientific mission to be from Japan.
- Why Japan, why not India? - asked Jayadeva.
- Because you have a portal leading straight to your country. I want my country to have at least something since your country is refusing to give my country access to this place - he quickly explained.
- I agree with Blue - said Nobuo. - I'm sure we can form a good relationship with the scientists if the Japanese person will be in charge.
- Why not Russian scientist? - asked Boris. - We didn't get a piece of this cake either.
- Calm down guys - said Will. - You are one, Boris, and there are two of them. Let them have that, and let's also put down that at least one scientist has to be from Russia.
- And Poland - I added.
- And Poland - he immediately picked up.
- I'm also adding Singapur - said Hatta while, writing. - Anything else we should add here?
- They will open a school to teach the kids or everybody else who want's to learn the basic stuff, like math, chemistry, biology, physics - I said. - Boris's kid will need to learn that stuff, Tihana also has to. I bet some of the Xuzards will also be interested. We need that if the population of this place is going to grow.
- It's a good idea - Boris immediately agreed.
- Do you think they will go with that? - asked Jayadeva.
- If they want to come here, they have to agree - said Blue. - We don't need them as much as they want us. We should also ask for doctors. We can help them acquire healing powers, and then send them back. This would work wonders for the reputation of this place.
- Slow down - said Hatta, as he tried to put it all on paper.
- I think this should be enough - said Amit. - Or does anybody wants to add more?
People one by one said no, and Hatta quickly finished his paper, then he read it out loud so everybody would know whats exactly is there. Blue had few issues with it, mainly because he wanted it to sound more professional, she the two of them worked a bit on the language, composing the second version.
We listened to them dying out of boredom, but the meeting eventually came to an end, and people started to leave. Then I noticed agent Karol Siemiątkowski standing in the corridor, and waiting. I invited him in with a gesture of a hand.
- Good morning - he said while entering. - I heard that the news from the UN was delivered today, so I came to ask if you would be willing to do what I mentioned before. I also have good news. Your mother will be arriving here tomorrow.
- We included it in the list of our demands - said Hatta, and pointed at the paper.
Karol came closer, to take a look, and quickly went through the content of the document, then he turned back to me.
- Thank you very much for that - he said with a smile, gesturing a bit with his hands. - This would be all from me then. I hope in the future we can also help each other.
Then he left, leaving us two alone.
- He is quite nice compared to the CIA agents - said Hatta.
- Trust me, he is just like them. Just because they have to play nice to get a piece of this pie, doesn't mean they are nice. If they had leverage on us as CIA had on Will or Aisha, they would be using it. Since they don't have it, they are playing nice. You should expect the same from every single one of the governments you will be dealing with.
He slowly nodded.
- I hope that Aisha's matter can be resolved soon. What is it even about?
- If she didn't tell you, then I won't also. It's hed call.
- Ok, no pressure.
- Yeah. Anyway... I'm gonna go, and figure out a way to waste some more time.
He smiled, at me, and that was the end of the meeting for me.
We still didn't get anything new on Aisha's case. Both she and Wolf remained silent, although I visited both of them during the day. The rest of it I spent keeping my eye on Tihana and Ki'rai, while also writing a bit.
It became way harder when I had so many thoughts in my head, and couldn't just push them out. I was concerned about my friends, and also kinda thrilled about my mom's visit.
The day came to an end with 24 401 029 points remaining on my account, and 21 class points.
