Chapter 81：It's a Small World After All

They just stood there, as if they were waiting for the zombies to approach them. They were taken aback when suddenly, a familiar figure appeared.

Geof was seen attacking the zombies with his katana and the moment their new heads appeared, someone had shot them accurately on the head.

'Who was that?'

When Geof ran into another direction, Sheloah and Shannara were starting to look around but they couldn't see who was shooting the other zombies down. They were curious also as to how Geof had arrived at the place and had found them.

Sheloah shook her head, stopping her thoughts, as she got her katana on the floor and started attacking with Geof. Shannara just stood, still in a daze, feeling surprised when she realized that Sheloah and her had been saved at the last minute.

After some while, the battle had ended. Sheloah smiled and returned to Shannara's side to check up on her. Geof followed as well.

"Stupid!"

Geof hit Sheloah's head rather hard and it made Sheloah groan in pain.

"What the hell!? What was that for!?"

"That's for dragging people in your mess! You got us worried sick!"

Sheloah couldn't speak as she just squinted her eyes at Geof. Sheloah was about to hit him back when a familiar figure caught her eye.

It was Veon.

Sheloah was surprised to have seen Veon jump from a nearby tree and he soon landed safely on the ground. Now they know who was shooting the zombies down.

Sheloah felt a bit happy to have seen him. She was worried about him but then she knew the reason why he was here since he was probably looking for her. Because of being hard-headed, he came with Geof to retrieve Sheloah and Tyler.

Sheloah was about to approach him but was shocked to see Shannara run towards him, jumped on him, and gave him a hug.

"Veon!"

Shannara said his name, as if she had not seen him for a very long time. She even hugged him quite tightly, too!

Sheloah's eyes doubled in size as she looked at the scene in front of her.

'How does she know Veon and why is she hugging him? It's as if they knew each other!'

It was obvious in Veon's face that he was surprised but he just remained silent and had allowed Shannara to hug him.

'Why?'

Shannara released Veon from her hug and had looked at him straight in the eyes, as if she was about to cry.

"Shan?"

There was familiarity in his voice! Veon had called Shannara, 'Shan', as if it was a nickname that he uses to call her! Sheloah realized that if this were the case then…

They had long known each other before Sheloah got to know Veon? But what Sheloah assumed just now made her heart ache, that Veon may be Shannara's first love.

Sheloah just looked at the both of them, dumbstruck. Veon noticed her and he suddenly walked towards her quickly.

"Sheloah, you dumb girl!"

Sheloah heard Veon calling her dumb so she was shaken by her thoughts but was dragged right back into it when suddenly Veon hugged her tight.

'What the hell!?'

Shannara quite frowned when she saw how Veon acted towards Sheloah. She just thought that maybe Veon ignored her because it had been a long time since they saw each other, but she felt quite disappointed to have seen him hugging Sheloah so comfortably... when Veon had never even initiated hugging Shannara before.

Veon tightened his hug on Sheloah and spoke. "Stupid! You're so stubborn! You got me worried sick!"

"Don't do it again."

Sheloah just looked at him, as she recalled what had happened just now.

He was hugged by Shannara, but Veon hugged Sheloah instead. What a turn of events!

Shannara took their attention.

"Sheloah." She called out Sheloah's name and had walked towards their direction. "Is he the best friend you told me of," she asked and Veon took three steps backward, giving them space. He was in between of the girls.

"You guys know each other?" The girls just ignored his obvious question.

Sheloah did not answer Shannara's question, and asked her a question instead. "Is Veon the childhood friend you were talking about earlier?"

Both of them knew that they had answers to the questions but they still asked each other, anyway. They didn't expect that the friend that they just had… would turn out to be their rival, too.

It's a small world after all.
