Chapter 107:It's My Decision

While they were walking, Veon kept thinking of Sheloah; how he was just talking to her just a while ago and now she's out of his sight. Veon kept thinking what if he did not leave her side… maybe she would still be there with him. Veon didn't expect Sheloah to be out of his line of sight.

They entered another room, probably Dannie's father's office and they all sat on the couch, waiting for the conversation to start.

Why would the kidnapper leave a clue as to where he would bring Sheloah? It seemed to them that he had an ulterior motive as to why he left the address of their current location; it's as if he was luring them in his trap.

But they got nothing to lose. They have to bring Sheloah back.

"We need to go there now. What if something bad will happen to Sheloah," Veon said and Dannie's father looked at him seriously.

"I suggest that you not," he said and everyone was flabbergasted by what they have heard.

They wanted to get Sheloah back so she could be saved, yet Dannie's father, a former soldier, suggested not to? What game is he playing?

"Why not," Isobel scoffed. "What if something bad had happened to her," she added and Dannie's father now looked at her, with an answer already prepared.

"What if we go there tonight and the kidnapper is expecting for your sudden presence," he said and everyone went silent. "We need to make a plan. Your lives are also at stake here. I know that the kidnapper's motive is not to kill Sheloah. It is just to abduct her in order to get our attention. He wants something else," he added and he did made sense, but still, this made Veon feel irritated.

He really felt uneasy and he was desperate to go out and look for her. He kept thinking of the worst possible scenarios and no one could ease his anxiety.

"Then what should we do? What's the plan?" Shannara suddenly spoke then everyone looked at her.

"We'll make our move tomorrow," Dannie's father said directly and Tyler's eyes opened wide.

"Sir, I don't think—"

"It's my decision."

Dannie's father's direct and final answer rang in everyone's ears. He sounded like he knew what he was doing but still, there was doubt in Veon's heart. Even Sheloah's uncle started to doubt him.

"How can you say that? You are aware that you are with her father figure. How can I sit still, knowing that my niece is kidnapped," Sheloah's uncle said and Dannie's father sighed.

"Trust my guts," he just said and Dannie suddenly spoke up.

"Let's just trust my dad, please…" Dannie looked assured about her father's decision and Veon glared at her.

'You don't understand… I can't stand the thought of Sheloah being in danger.'

Shannara felt Veon's anxiety so she put her hand on his shoulder to calm him down.

"Calm down… we have no choice for now," she said and Veon looked at the girl beside her, his annoyance still present in his eyes.

Veon suddenly stood up and everyone's eyes were now on him. "Leave me alone. I would just be in the garden," he said and he left the room angrily.
