Chapter 113:The Wink Wasn't Necessary

Kreiss stopped painting when he felt that someone was watching him. He looked back and smirked when he saw who was watching him. This made Sheloah feel uneasy.

"Umm…" Sheloah laughed nervously. "Just continue what you're doing, Kreiss," Sheloah said and he chuckled, his voice sexier than usual.

"You've been watching me for a long time, didn't you," he said and Sheloah rolled her eyes at him but she sighed in defeat. She was already caught in the act so there's no use lying.

"Yeah, so what," she admitted and he chuckled again as he wiped his hands with a cloth. He went towards Sheloah and he put his face near hers.

Just an inch away, they might even kiss!

"Be honest with yourself, princess," he said as he tipped Sheloah's chin up. She felt his breath on her lips and it made her face blush. Sheloah felt uneasy so she pushed him away and stepped back, avoiding him.

"Shut up! You don't have to tease me," Sheloah said and Kreiss smirked, walking towards a water dispenser present in the room.

"So, you were thirsty," he asked and the girl glared at him. Kreiss got a glass of water and extended his hand to give it to Sheloah.

"So you heard me!" She walked aggressively towards Kreiss and gave him a slight punch on the shoulder before she got the water for her to drink.

When Sheloah heard this, she spat her water out and this made Kreiss laugh out loud.

'You flirty son of a gun!'

Sheloah wiped her mouth with her hand and Kreiss then, did his best to stop himself from laughing. He found teasing Sheloah quite his amusement but he felt that teasing her more would lead to his death.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry," he said and the girl glared at him. "I heard you. I was just too preoccupied with my painting. I couldn't leave it alone," he added as he looked at his painting. Sheloah also looked at it.

"Your painting's beautiful," she complimented and she smiled genuinely at the masterpiece Kreiss did. "Why is the butterfly bright and the surrounding dark," Sheloah asked and Kreiss looked at his painting intently before giving an explanation.

"Look at our present situation. There's currently a zombie apocalypse, right," he asked and Sheloah nodded. "One day, I went to the garden and realized that everything was almost dead. The flowers, and such. Everything seemed lifeless but then a butterfly suddenly flew around the garden, giving a sign of hope," he explained and it all made sense to Sheloah.

"So even in the darkest times, there's still hope," she said and Kreiss nodded.

"But that's not all. Even though that the world is now in shambles, there's still beauty left. And that beauty that is still left, serves as our motivation for us to keep going," he added and Sheloah smiled at the painting's message. Kreiss looked at Sheloah and he said the main message of his masterpiece.

"Everything you imagine is real."

Sheloah looked at him and her heart started to race again. They were staring at each other in silence when suddenly, Kreiss broke the moment when he winked at her. This made Sheloah cringe.

"The wink wasn't necessary," she commented and Kreiss laughed, making the girl laugh with him.

"But thanks for complimenting my painting, though. I still have a long way to go," Kreiss replied and he went to his painting to fix his brushes and acrylic paints.
