Chapter 156:Her Action Says It All

Kreiss is with Shannara and they were now looking for the materials needed for the molotov cocktail.

Shannara ran to the kitchen, making Kreiss raise a brow at her.

"Is this your place," he asked and Shannara just rummaged the kitchen counters, looking for possible materials.

"Does that even matter? Why don't you just shut up and look," the girl said then in one cupboard, she found a flammable bottle but once she reached for it, it fell on the ground and it broke. "Dammit!"

'This girl is a bit feisty. More feisty than Sheloah.'

Kreiss leaned on the door's frame. "Please, feisty-pants. This is my house and I know where to get the materials. Follow my lead, and it would be quicker this way," he said as he touched Shannara's arm but she felt threatened by Kreiss' actions.

"Hey," Shannara complained and she suddenly became quiet when Kreiss' face went near hers.

"Shut up and follow me. Trust me on this," he said, his voice cold. Obviously, making it seem like he is in authority than Shannara. "I know this place well. It's mine, not yours," he added and Shannara avoided his gaze.

Kreiss walked away, making Shannara follow him suit. They went up the stairs and went to the attic. Kreiss knew all to well that most of the things are stored in the attic. He knew that most of the materials that they needed were found there. Except for the oil, though.

Once they reached the attic, Shannara found a flammable bottle and she picked it up.

"Help me search for matches and cloth. I think it's in one of the drawers of the old cabinets here," Kreiss instructed and Shannara then searched.

Shannara walked briskly towards a cabinet. She bumped on the one behind her and a hand mirror suddenly fell. The moment Shannara tried to catch it, it broke, making her finger bleed.

"Hey," Kreiss said as he took Shannara's hands to take a look. "You could've just left it. You don't have to catch it. It's painful, isn't it," he added as he tore some cloth from her sleeve to cover up her finger. Shannara suddenly smiled sarcastically.

"This pain is nothing compared to the pain that I've felt," she mumbled to herself but it was enough for Kreiss to hear.

The moment Kreiss was finished treating with her wound, Shannara quickly looked for the cloth. She successfully found it from one of the drawers present in the room.

Kreiss realized that Shannara looked tough on the outside but inside, she seemed weak and vulnerable.

The teenage boy was suddenly curious about her so he approached her and talked to her.

"You like Veon, don't you?"

The moment Shannara heard this, the girl stopped rummaging the other drawers. Kreiss laughed because of her reaction. It was enough answer for him.

"You don't have to answer," Kreiss said as he started looking for some matches in the other drawers.

'Her action says it all.'

Shannara looked at him as if an intruder just entered in her private property.

"What's the deal with you," she asked and Kreiss looked at her.

"What's the deal with what, feisty-pants," the boy asked, seemingly teasing Shannara.

"Now let me ask you. Why did you get Sheloah and why do you seem close? What's your motive?"

Shannara asked a lot of questions and Kreiss just shook his head as he chuckled. He ignored the girl as he continued searching for some matches.
