190 Vernisa's Struggle, Reinforcements Arrive!

Unaware of the changes occurring on the outside, back within the X Space, the battles between Milon and the High Elder was currently at its peak. By now, many began to notice the startling explosions at the summits of the Hall of Governance, as quite a few strong individuals headed towards the building.

At this time, the chase with Vernisa and the two other Body Shifters was currently at its peak, as deep below the earth startling explosions were heard as tremors shook the entire city.

Bang! In a remote section outside of the city, the ground had exploded, as the bulky and skinny Body Shifters of an angular physique structure had bolted from the crack into the sky.

They both landed ground, one crushing a boulder as the other ended up avoiding the rocks and trees with incredibly nimble movements.

Not long after, a shadow bolted from the crack, before doing a graceful flip and landing on the ground a few meters apart from these two creatures. A mature beauty that had one hand placed on the ground as the other held a pistol that was raised to the side, her eyes gleaming in a sharp light as she stared at her enemies.

Vernisa who had only caught up to them, glared at them as she spoke, "You won't be going anywhere,"

Urok sneered as he adopted a combat posture and spoke, "Haha... human, you're out of your league if you think you can top the two of us by yourself! Ilak, kill her!"

"Hmph! Don't tell me what to do Urok!" Ilak said in a menacing manner.

Not even wasting any time to argue with Ilak, Urok had begun to charge towards Vernisa like a footballer aiming for a tackle. As for Ilak, he blurred and vanished quickly, appearing at Vernisa's side, as he swung his skinny arms towards her neck at high speeds.

Vernisa didn't even blink at these changes, she hurriedly shifted her gun towards the direction of the Ilak and fired a few of her explosive rounds. Her bullets leaving behind a golden trail that those with untrained eyes would find hard to perceive.

Ilak then quickly avoided the bullets, narrowly dodging them to the sides as the areas where the bullets hit exploded as if someone had tossed a few grenades. Though he had avoided successfully, the shockwaves and debris from these explosions, hindered its movements, allowing Vernisa to back away from him easily.

Still, this was only one, Urok that charged forward tried to crush her like a tank, but Vernisa was far more experienced in combat to fall for such tricks, and other than guns, her physical power was similarly not weak.

With a jump, Vernisa did a flip over Urok's head, her busty body doing a graceful arc in the air as she twists her waist and sends a kick towards the side of the monster's face.

Bang! With a heavy hit, Urok staggered backward by a few steps, as he grasped his head in anger as it cursed, "You darn human woman!"

Though he said this, however, he raised his other large arm, preparing to grab her out of the air, but Vernisa looked at it coldly, following up her airborne kick with a few more kicks before she fired her explosive rounds from her dual pistols.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Following a series of explosions once more, Vernisa was pushed backward by the shockwave, but with her excellent skills, she did a few backflips before gracefully landing on top of a large boulder.

The scene now one of smoke, as the entire upper torso of the towering and bulky Body Shifter had bared the brunt of those explosive shells of hers.

Vernisa sighed as she saw this while thinking, 'Whew... at least I've gotten rid of one...'

She was about to think something, but right at this moment, she heard a whooshing sound as if something large was rapidly approaching through the wind.

Instantly, another bulky Body Shifter had appeared behind her, both of its arms lifted above its head with its fingers locked together, showing its rippling muscles.

Vernisa, sensing this change, had a pale expression as she thought, "Oh no! There's another one; I have to avoid it!"

Yet, as Vernisa thought and tried to move, it was already too late, as the palms had crashed into her back, hitting her from the top of the boulder into the ground.

The palms of this body shifter then crushed the boulder into bits of rubble that scattered over the area, with a few chunks falling onto Vernisa, who cried out in pain.

"Ack! Darn, h-how... could I be... so careless? Cough..."

Vernisa struggled to say, feeling as if she was in a critical condition, her back felt like it had a few broken bones, and the areas were the boulder fragments smash on were aching immensely; she even felt blood in her throat.

At this time, the new Body Shifter merely stared at her with a smirk as it stood a few meters behind Vernisa. The previously shot Urok had moved his hand brushing away the smoke revealing his gravely injured look as most areas on his flesh were destroyed, leaking with a dense amount of blood.

Urok's face was mangled, but he still sneered as he looked at her and spoke, "Haha... foolish human woman, you think we'd just run away without tactics, sorry but our numbers are too small to make such a mistake, and there is always a counter plan..."

"Darn... son of a... bitch...' Vernisa cursed as she saw that he was able to speak calmly despite such injuries.

Ilak once more appeared at the different corners, his body bleeding in a few areas due to narrowly avoiding the debris from Vernisa's previous explosive bullet attacks.

His eyes shone in a cruel ray as he shouted, "Let's hurry and strip her clean; I want to take her body myself."

Urok frowned as he spoke, "Ilak, shut the hell up! Look at my condition, you're thinking of shifting with such meager wounds, learn your place among the ranks!"

Ilak trembled slightly before lowering his head. The newly arrived Body Shifter merely shook its head and spoke, "Enough jabbering, Urok, hurry and begin the transitioning, there might be others that are…"

Right when it spoke to there, its word's halted as its face turned to one of surprise when it lifted its head looking above in shock.

Soon, a black-haired beauty with abundant features had appeared. She stood in the sky as if on land as she spoke, "Hehe... too late big guy, were already here..."

The body shifter tried to move, but much to its dismay, it found that it couldn't move a single lime, the same was true for Ilak and the heavily injured Urok that stood on the ground.

Not long after, two other females had appeared, one blond and one with gorgeous purple hair, they looked at the Body Shifters as if they were rats in a cage, filling each of them with a surge of dread like never before.
