192 Discovering the Enemy’s Hideaway

Faraway from the city, on a trail that led towards a forest, a small group slowly moved towards the unknown. They each blurred and shifted through the trees like shadows leaving behind remnant shades due to their high speeds. However, as they dashed, they would consciously avoid the roadways were a myriad of checkpoints were stationed, even the stern military wasn't able to follow their movements.

All but one, a slim and handsome blue-haired youth that held a spear in one arm, danced like a blue shadow that moved from tree to tree, easily keeping pace with the unsuspecting individuals.

Rick calmly followed the group as he scrutinized them; he saw that one of them was a tall man with a helmet along with another who seemed to be a female dressed similarly.

They both held onto two unconscious individuals, each of them garbed in a scientist uniform with their heads covered by a bag.

'These two... let's see what makes you so special from those others,' Rick thought to himself as he tried to inspect the stats of this peculiar bunch.

Rick narrowed his eyes as he saw the female's stats, but when he glanced at the man, his face turned dark as he saw an unexpected result.

Rick saw Valoz's details and couldn't help but feel alarmed as he thought to himself, 'Another higher stage Ascended Lifeform, and it's even one level stronger than that Mutant Plant Man. I'll need to act with care...'

When Rick thought to here, his eyes turned even sterner as he ensured to hide his presence while following them, not even releasing a hint of aura. They soon arrived at the center of a vast forest; a region disconnected from the influence of the humans that took root on these lands.

Looking at the scene, Rick saw nothing but trees and grass, but as he observed more carefully from the summits of a tall tree's branch, he noticed that the ground here was unusually leveled.

'Could this be their hideout?' Rick thought as he patiently observed, his eyes beaming in a blue ray.

Valoz, having arrived here glanced at Pira and nodded his head, Pira then put down the scientist and prepared to do something, but right at this time, Valoz frowned as his eyes took on a cold look.

"Pira, we have intruders, hurry and kill it!" Valoz shouted, not even bothering to move from his position.

Pira, hearing this halted her actions, and lifted her head, her eyes behind her visor shone in bright red lights before they fixed on top of a tall tree.

Rick's face sunk as he saw this; he hurriedly flicked his finger, tossing a tiny object into the remote corners of the tree while rapidly retreating.

In a second, he turned into a blurry shade of blue lights that vanished from this area as he cursed in his mind, 'Shit! I was almost able to figure out their secrets, and I didn't even reveal a single aura. How did he sense my presence?'

While Rick thought as he retreated, Pira, who saw the remnant blue shade disappeared towards the distance, wasn't perturbed. Her leg muscles bulged slightly as a towering Blood Genetic Power erupted from her body as she vanished, leaving behind a series of red lights.

Valoz stared at the direction they left as his eyes shone coldly, his mouth curving into a smile as he murmured, "Huhu... these humans from the outside are quite something, they should make even better evolution samples if we can shift with their bodies. Still, now that they've discovered here, I might need to bring the horde to a different nesting ground..."

Having said this, Valoz shook his head and no longer paid it any mind, he placed his hand onto the ground, as a palm-shaped compartment appeared.

Not long after, a green light lit up the area, before a loud rumbling noise had sounded. Soon, an underground passageway was revealed, Valoz didn't even waste any time and brought the unconscious scientists with him below, as a sneer was on his face.

'With these two fellows, we'll be able to expedite the process, the sooner we know of the Origin Plant Life's weakness, the easier it will be to control it. That way, we can have an absolute advantage in the incoming war for that God Tree,' Valoz thought with a sly smile as he soon after vanished below the passageway.

With another rumbling sound, the passage began to close itself. However, unaware to even himself, a small object that was even thinner than a mosquito soon after flew into it. Observing it closely, one would even notice that this object was a tiny drone.

It's lens flashed in an instinct light, as even when it flew, it made no sound, noiselessly trailing behind Valoz at a reasonable distance, recording everything within its vicinity as it soon faded into the dark of the passage.

A reasonable distance away from the hideout Rick who retreated looked behind in shock at a red light as he cursed, "What the hell? She's faster than me!"

The moment he said this, the red remnant shade rapidly appeared above his head as Pira reformed from the lights. Not even wasting a moment, she kicked her leg towards his head with a loud whooshing sound.

Rick knew that this kick wasn't anything to joke at, he gritted his teeth as he stabbed his spear from below her, striking it towards her vital points.[1]

Crash! The two collided creating a shockwave of blue and red energies, which rippled for a short while before fading.

Rick lost his balance and fell from a branch he was about to use to propel himself forward. He fell ground rapidly, but he used his skillful reflexed to do a flip and land on his feet.

In moments, he had positioned himself for battle once more; he whirled the spear in his right arm before he firmly gripped it, and he glanced upwards at Pira who now stood on top of the branch with her arms raised. Her loose hair that fell below her future-like helmet rose up and down around as if her Blood Genetic Energy influenced them.

Rumble! Suddenly, a bunch of large rocks and small objects such as sharpened branched and other things had begun to rise in the air; they soon reached a height where they hovered around her body that now glowed with blood-red lights as her eyes showed a cruel look.

"Human, prepare to die!" Pira said in a ruthless tone as she prepared to unleash her [Psychic Force] skill.

On the other hand, Rick sighed as he stared at this as his body erupted with brilliant blue Battle Energy, the spear in his arm began to hum when he replied with arrogant eyes, "With just you? You think too highly of yourself..."

Both powers clashed against each other, creating a startling amount of turbulence in the surroundings as the scene here took on a shocking change as they prepared to clash in an epic battle.
