Chapter 241: The Clash Against Pira 2

Name:Ascenders Rift Author:ShadowsFinger
Joe's figure descended from the heavens with a loud whooshing sound, enveloping all below his meaty form that seemed no different from a meteor. His giant shield that spanned a few meters glowing in bright earthen-colored lights as left a trail of its energies behind it as it pushed through the air prepared to smite the earth.

Pira, sensing Joe's attack, grew alarmed. Though he wasn't anywhere close to her in physical power, the force coming from the onslaught was enough to deter her completely.

"You darn human, don't you dare to underestimate me! Psychic Force!"

Following her shout, Pira's body erupted her blood energic power along with her multi-colored psychic force, which conjured a barrier before Joe's descending figure.

In moments, both had collided as a shocking boom resounded across the entirety of this area. A gush of wind scattered from their position due to the shockwave; it pushed back even more of the ruin structures and boulders that soon crashed into the earth.

Looking at the scene of the collision, one would see scattering lights of blood-colored energy along with earthen colored battle energy that pressed down from above, the giant shield rippling with power as it pushed down with full force.

Bang! With a loud sound, the earth below Pira's feet started to crack apart as a crater began to grow around her figure, despite her attempt at using her psychic force to repel the attack.

'This… how can this human have so much weight?'

Pira inwardly cursed as she spat out a bit of blood; it seemed that she was using far more energy than expected to resist Joe's Arc Crusher. Her eyes shone in a menacing ray, ready to counter-attack, but it was a pity, for she was too late.

With a series of screeching sounds, a group of brilliant golden arrows bolted from the one direction towards Pira's unguarded figure, each swooshing through the void at alarming speeds, seeming no different from rays of golden lights.

Following the source of these arrows, one would notice that Emilia was currently firing a relentless storm of her hands with her arms blurring due to her ungodly marksmanship.

'That bitch again, I'll get rid of her the next chance it gets!'

Pira secretly cursed in anger as she forcefully used one arm to control her psychic force, using most of her strength to push Joe to the side.

With a loud rumble, Joe's shield pressed into the earth, forcing a deep shield-shaped impression along with a dust cloud that enveloped all things in their vicinity.

"Crap, she got away." Joe cursed as she tried to recover himself from the cloud of dust.

Unlike Joe, however, Pira didn't waste any time after repelling him; she twirled in the air and used her other arm to conjure a few multi-colored lights that lifted a few of the surrounding rocks from the grounds. These rocks then bolted towards the arrows in an almost endless swarm before colliding with them.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

A myriad of explosive booms sounded as Emilia's arrows crashed into each rock, breaking through some before exploding others as some of them dispersed. However, while this constant stream of attack between both Emilia and Pira was continuing, Layla and the others weren't going to let up.

"Lightwave."

Layla chanted as her eyes glowed in purple lights along with her jewel embedded in her scepter; a bright purple ray blasted towards Pira at a speed which couldn't be avoided.

"Not good!" Pira exclaimed as she hurried to use her free arm to call over one of her curved blades; the blade spun through the air before landing in her palms right before Layla's beam attack had arrived.

Not even hesitating, Pira gathered most of the genetic blood energy on to her blade and chopped it towards the beam attack, her slash left behind a trail line of reddish energy that cut into the ray. However, rather than severing it into two halves, another scene had occurred.

Layla's beam pressed against Pira's blade, pushing her backward at alarming speeds as it left two trailing impressions into the earth that followed her feet.

While this happened, bits of Layla's energies were scattered to the side due to the genetic blood energy that coated the blade. These stray rays crashed into the ground, creating purple-colored explosions wherever they landed.

Pira gritted her teeth while struggling against Layla's ray with the broadside of her blade, her eyes having a trace of surprise as she thought, 'How can this be? How can the force behind her energy be almost comparable to that of my own? Is she too a lifeform from the Primal Ages?'

Pira was confused as she had no idea how her full powdered swing couldn't easily destroy Layla's attack, but sadly, she didn't have the time to think about it, as Emilia's arrow rain had once more descended.

Pira narrowed her eyes at this; she knew that with her attention now focused on Layla's beam attack, the wave of boulders used to resist Emilia had long since crashed into the earth.

"Hmph! I won't go down so easily, even more so to a bunch of humans!"

Pira yelled as her rage bolstered her power; she reached for another of her curved blades that spun from a distance into her second hand. Following this, she used both of her blades to shift the direction of Layla's beam attack, forcing it towards the side where it bolted towards the distant wall and generated a giant purple explosion.

Not wasting another moment, Pira's eyes glowed in red lights as she lowered her posture and dashed forward with immense killing intent. Her figure blurring and turning into a ray of light that dodged all of Emilia's attacks. Now that she was free from Joe's previous attack and Layla's well-timed beam, she was capable of utilizing her most vital asset, her speed.

With a series of whooshing noises, Pira swooshed about like a ghost, waving her hand now and then to sweep away Emilia's arrows in all directions. Her figure flashed about as she advanced to Emilia's position, judging her as the first threat to annihilate.

"Die!" Pira said as she readied herself to strike Emilia in one go, but at this very instance, a voice sounded.

"Rick, do it now!" Joe's voice said from a nearby corner; he firmly held his shield up as if prepared for something.

In this instance, a bright while light bolted from behind Emilia's position, quickly arriving before Pira could even react; Rick now had a savage look on his face, forgoing his former princely charms.

"No one attacks my princess!" Rick yelled, unaware of his blunder; Emilia was a bit shocked by this as she blushed, for, despite her trained boldness, she was still quite shy deep down.

Unlike her, however, Joe, who stood from nearby, had a sinister glow in his eyes. He was about to curse out loud, but sadly, Breya's voice sounded from nearby.

"Hey, no dazing off, prepare yourself; it's almost your turn!"

"Che! I'll get that son of a bitch later!" Joe cursed under his breath as he held his shield ahead, expecting the moments change.

At this time, Pira had only noticed Rick's appearance; she cursed as she slashed her blade towards him, "You again, don't think that you can face me head-on, brat!"

With two bright red arcs, her blades cut through the empty void; as Rick once again vanished from her line of sight, Pira didn't hesitate and kicked the ground with her feet, falling back like a ray of light due to her speed.

In that instance, the ground had exploded as Rick had attacked her from above. With a crushing sound, the tip of his spear slammed into the ground in her previous position.

Pira quickly did a flip in the air as she landed on the floor, sliding back by a few meters before halting, her eyes fixed onto Rick's form before glancing at Emilia a distance behind him.

'These humans, their teamwork is too solid, I can't find an easy way between them; I must separate them and take them down one at a time. It seems that I have not a choice but to use it...'

Pira thought with a solemn look in her eyes; she then lifted her two blades and prepared to unleash her final card, but suddenly, the ground below her feet started to rumble filling her face with alarm as she sensed a strange aura.

Breya, who watched his from afar, smirked as if everything was under control as she spoke in a soft voice, "Checkmate."

The scene in the room only grew stranger at the sudden turn of events, leading to the climax of this battle between humans and parasites.
