Ghost glanced at the box in her hand and sneered, "You mean present. There's only one."
"Well, there's more than one gift inside."
Ghost tried to take the big box of present but Kai Xin stopped him.
"Not so fast, birthday boy."
"It's my presents! Give me!" yelled Ghost as he lunged at her.
Kai Xin stepped aside and grinned, "A game of Weiqi first. It's been a while since we played."
"Fine!"
As she was setting the table, he looked at her and in an arrogant voice, he said, "This would only take 10 minutes!"
When she heard him, she scowled, "Don't be too cocky! I've been practicing!"
Turning to Phantom, she snapped, "You will be the referee and make sure that he doesn't cheat!"
Phantom shrugged, "Might as well. Dumb and dumber. I wonder who would win?"
The two turned to glare at him and both of them yelled in unison, "Shut up!"
10 minutes later, Kai Xin sighed heavily with her head on the table.
She groaned as she bumped the table with her forehead, "How. Can. This. Be..."
Ghost laughed evilly as he unwrapped the box, "Told ya...It would take you 10 lifetimes to win against me."
Phantom chuckled as he stopped her from hurting her forehead any further, "Give up, Daisy. He's your Master after all."
Ghost looked at her with mischief in his eyes, "Here's an advice, my young protege. If you wait for your enemy to make a move, you would have lost the battle already."
He ducked when she threw some of the black and white stones at him.
As she sat there pouting and getting upset over the fact that she lost the game again, Ghost finally managed to open the box.
He looked inside the box and frowned, "Daisy... This is a puppy..."
Taking out a stuffed Golden Retriever, he gaped at her, "A stuffed puppy?"
Grinning, she replied, "Well, you said you wanted a companion before. I'm afraid that you might kill a dog, so a stuffed puppy would be better for you."
He gritted as he placed the puppy on his lap, "I'm not that careless!"
While he glared at her, he pointed at Phantom and snapped, "And I have servants!"
Phantom threw an empty can of beer at him and said, "Who the heck is your servant?"
Ghost mumbled something about it being the worst birthday ever.
However, his expression betrayed him as he was obviously fond of the toy.
Phantom and Kai Xin glanced at each other and chuckled when they saw that he could not stop himself from petting the stuffed puppy.
Kai Xin sat next to him and nudged him, "There's other stuff in the box."
Ghost glanced into the box and pulled out another beautifully decorated box inside it.
When he saw the framed photo inside, he felt so happy that his eyes got teary.
"What's that?" asked Phantom. He wheeled over to take a look and saw that it was a photo of the three of them, Jane, Mo Shaoyun, An Qi Yan and Kai An.
They took that photo a long time ago during Kai Xin's graduation.
Despite her objection, Phantom and Ghost snuck into her campus to see her. Even though she had scolded them, she was secretly happy to see them.
The two had pretended to be tourists and they actually photo bombed Kai Xin and her family.
However, if one were to look at the photo, it would appeared as if they were there together.
Ghost smiled as he ran his thumb across the photo, "I thought you deleted the photo."
She shrugged, "I thought it might come in handy one day."
When Ghost looked at the photo, she placed a hand on his shoulder and said,
"I know that you actually want to stop hiding. When we have gotten rid of them, I'd introduce you to my family, Jane and Shaoyun."
Ghost nodded happily. He wiped the tears away.
Phantom took out his phone and waved it, "Let's take a selfie. We don't have any photos of the three of us."
Kai Xin and Ghost said in unison, "OK!"
After that, they spent the rest of the night binge drinking, singing and eating cake.
Occasionally, Phantom would go down to the bar to make sure that everything was fine.
At around 4am, after his last round, he went back to the room.
With a loud yawn, he pushed open the door, "Guys, I need to-"
When he saw the scene, he was unable to finish his sentence.
At the couch, Ghost was kissing Kai Xin.
