While DX was talking to Dr. Phillip about the things to expect and what to look out for during the next couple of months, Kai Xin went and stood in front of the mirror.

As she looked at her slightly protruding belly, she thought, "I'm going to protect you with all my might this time..."

When DX saw her, he walked over and hugged her from behind. With his hand rested on her belly, he said, "She will be an amazing person, just like her mother..."

Looking at the reflection of his besotted face, Kai Xin teased, "What makes you so sure that the baby is a girl? It could be a boy."

"I already have two boys. I want a girl now..." said DX. He knelt down and kissed the small bulge before pretending to speak to the baby, "Hey, make sure that you are a little princess, ok? Be a beautiful princess like Mummy..."

"Holy f*ck..." thought Dr. Phillip. He had never thought that he would live to see this day. After snapping another photo, he cleared his throat to get their attention before saying, "If you guys don't need me any longer, then I'd like to go back to the party before the boys torture Old Mo to death."

DX nodded, "Tell William and Tiffany to come in."

When the two came in, DX did a quick introduction.

"That was quite a sight, Ms. Zhen. I have never seen anyone who stood up to Old Madam Du like what you did," said William Tan as he pulled a chair over for his wife to sit in.

Kai Xin grinned ruefully, "I think she hates me now..."

"Maybe...Don't worry about it. She would get over it soon. Everyone knows that Old Madam Du respects strong women. Once she gets over the humiliation, she would accept you..."

With a hand wrapped around Kai Xin's waist and a hand placed protectively on her belly, DX scoffed, "She has to even if she doesn't want..."

When Tiffany Tang saw the intimate action, she gasped, "Oh my god! You are pregnant!"

Her husband looked at her for a second before turning back to DX and Kai Xin. When he saw DX's hand, he nodded, "You are right, Tiffany. Looks like we would have a little baby Du running around again...When?"

"We just found out," replied Kai Xin with a soft smile. She glanced at DX and sighed contently before resting against his shoulder, "Luckily he realized it. I didn't even know that I was pregnant until we talked to Dr. Phillip earlier."

"That's good..." Tiffany Tang said wistfully.

When Kai Xin noticed the tone, she looked at DX questioningly who then looked at William Tan. When the latter nodded, DX told her, "Tiffany is unable to get pregnant..."

Kai Xin glanced at the woman who was sitting opposite her and she felt sorry for her.

However, Tiffany Tang shrugged and gave her a smile before saying, "I had ovarian cancer when I was in high school and... there were some complications. The doctor had to remove everything."

Kai Xin noticed that the tone of her voice was a little flat. In fact, the tone of her voice was similar to the teacher who taught Kai Xin's sign language.

To confirmed, she asked by signing, "I hope I do not offend you with this question but are you deaf?"

Tiffany Tang was surprised that she knew sign language and she immediately signed back, "Yes. I was born deaf. Where did you learn how to sign? You are pretty good at it."

"From a teacher who taught at the orphanage where I volunteer in...One of the kids there is deaf..."

"What are they talking about?" asked DX while he frowned as he tried to decipher the signs.

Seeing his annoyed expression, William Tan laughed, "So, the almighty President Du is not all-knowing after all."

When DX glared at him, his friend laughed before filling him in on the conversation.

DX suddenly placed a hand on top of Kai Xin's and said, "Kara..We need to talk about something."

Kai Xin was so excited as she told DX the things that he already knew.

"DX, she's quite an interesting person. Did you know she organized charities and built schools in Africa for orphans?"

DX nodded, "She's great. Which is why I invited them here... Kara, honey..."

"Yeah?"

"They would like to adopt Caleb."

When she heard him, Kai Xin froze for a second before she dropped the smile that was on her face earlier. She was happy for Caleb but she was not ready to part from him yet.

Holding her hand, DX explained, "Kara...I know that you love Caleb, but he would do better in a family that he can associate with. With William and Tiffany, he would be their first child. They would love him more than anything in the world..."

"I have no doubt about it..."

Based on their short conversation earlier, Kai Xin knew that William Tan and Tiffany Tang's primary residence was in Paris.

She was afraid that she might never get to see Caleb again.

"Don't worry, Ms. Zhen. We know that you are very close to little Caleb. We actually have a house just a few miles away from here. Tiffany and I have been talking about moving back into the country and we would love to start our family here."

"We can adopt him, Kara..." said DX. When he looked at him, he continued, "I have thought about it before, but I do believe that Caleb would be better off with them. We have the twins and with this little one coming, we might be unable to focus on Caleb. He has been an orphan almost his whole life. Having parents who can focus on him would be good for his mental growth."

Looking at William Tan who had his hands placed reassuring on his wife's shoulders, Kai Xin sighed softly. If DX vouched for them, she had no doubt that these two would love Caleb as if he was their very own.

"He was right..." Kai Xin thought sadly. With their hectic schedules, they barely had enough time for the twins. Once the baby was born, they would be even busier with the little one. Even if she was unwilling to part with him, she knew that it was the best. Caleb would be better off with a family who could pay attention to him.

...

After the two left the room, Kai Xin turned to ask DX, "Why didn't they get a surrogate? I'm sure they can afford it."

They were resting on the bed with her using his arm as a pillow. DX took her hand and kissed it before answering her, "William can't have kids. In order to marry Tiffany, he went ahead and gotten himself a vasectomy."

When she heard him, Kai Xin gasped, "What?"

She quickly sat up and looked at him in disbelief before asking, "Why?!"

"His parents were strongly against their marriage. Tiffany was born deaf and she is unable to give birth. For the upper society, regardless of her achievements, her defects are considered as major flaws. When they pushed him too far and Tiffany's feelings got hurt in the process, William decided to end his line..."
