Callum who was seated behind Ghost was impressed when Ghost managed to make his way into the last remaining two players on the table. He had more than quadrupled the $250,000 earlier.
"Great! I can rely on my wife to take care of me in the future," thought Callum as he laughed softly at his own inside joke.
Glancing at his watch, Callum noticed that it was getting late. When they were taking a 5 minutes break, he went to Ghost. With his hand resting on Ghost's shoulder, he whispered, "We are going to be late for the next event. Can you wrap this up?"
Ghost nodded before whispering back, "I think we should be done in another 15 minutes."
His opponent, Mr. Carl, smirked when he saw the closeness between those two. When the game began, he kept smirking at Ghost as if he was having his own inside jokes.
"Mr. Carl, I'm in a hurry. This would be the last round," said Ghost nonchalantly as he raised his hand to stop the croupier from dealing the cards.
"Can't wait to go back to romp around with your boyfriend? Man, your kind disgusts me!" said Mr. Carl before he pretended to gag.
Ghost glanced at Callum and shook his head. He had his own plans and he did not want Callum to do anything yet.
Looking at the croupier, Ghost nodded, "Please deal the cards."
While the croupier dealt the card out, Mr. Carl kept looking at Ghost up and down as if he was sizing his ability.
"Admit it. You like getting banged by a man, right?" asked Mr. Carl as he took a quick peek at his hole cards.
Ghost ignored him. Head Manager Wing was nervous as he was afraid that Callum would be mad.
The Imperial Casino was under the management of the Shenlong Family and he would prefer not to annoy the next heir of the Shenlong Family.
However, when he was about to say something, Callum signaled him to stay back. Leaning back against the couch, he continued to watch Ghost as he remained unperturbed by the taunts. If Ghost did not want him to act, then he would respect his decision.
"Mr. Carl, your turn," said the croupier. Ghost had the dealer button in front of him and he was the big blind while Mr. Carl was the small blind.
"Call the big blind and raise $60,000," said Mr. Carl. He had a pair of Ace and it would be unlikely that Ghost would have better cards than him.
"Call," said Ghost after a few seconds of hesitation.
At the moment, there was $150,000 in the pot.
The croupier dealt the flop before reading out, "Ten of Spades, Jack of Spades, Nine of Clubs...Mr. Carl?"
Mr. Carl smiled slightly before saying, "Mr. Luo, you know...You should really get a girlfriend. It's a lot more fun than getting f*cked by a guy..."
Ghost smiled back at him before saying calmly, "I guess that's what every girl in your life said...Don't you think it's rather sad? That they prefer girls over you? Maybe you need to get an implant...Or use a better d*ldo...Anything would be better than your little Frankie...."
"You!" sputtered Mr. Carl as he slapped his palms down on the poker table angrily.
Callum chuckled at Ghost's retort.
"Mr. Carl, please calm down. It's your turn now," reminded the croupier.
Mr. Carl cursed before saying, "I'll be nice to you, you f*ggot! Raise another $60,000!"
Ghost tapped on the table. He was frowning as if he was thinking hard about the chances of winning. After a while, Mr. Carl goaded, "If you are afraid, then leave now...Poof!"
Seemingly annoyed, Ghost's face turned red as he snapped, "I'll call!"
Mr. Carl smirked. He had a double nine at hand. His chance of winning was quite high. He figured that if Ghost had a better card, he would have raised by then.
The croupier dealt the next card before calling out, "Nine of Heart!"
Mr. Carl nodded knowingly to himself. He had Four of a Kind. The only way Ghost could win was with a Flush or the rare Royal Flush. Cautioned, he decided to test Ghost out.
"Hey, you...I'm warning you. You have no chance of winning. If I were you, I'd leave now..."
Ghost glared at him. He kept tapping on his own cards as if he was thinking whether to continue.
Based on Ghost's action, Mr. Carl doubted that he had anything good. He figured that Ghost probably was waiting for the last card. That was why he did not raise and merely followed his call.
"Croupier...Raise $ 300,000," said Mr. Carl before he downed his glass of whiskey. He could go all-in but he knew that Ghost would just drop the game there and then if he did that.
They had been playing for hours and Mr. Carl had learned Ghost's tactic. Based on the earlier rounds, Ghost would raise whenever he had a nice hand, and he would call whenever he was not confident with the cards he had on hand.
Looking at the pile of chips in front of Ghost, Mr. Carl's smirked. He had the intention to squeeze as much money as possible from the guy.
Ghost kept tapping his cards and there was an expression of indecisiveness as if he was unsure whether he should keep going. He kept glancing at Mr. Carl's cards as if he was trying to guess his cards.
"Come on! We don't have the whole day!" berated Mr. Carl.
"I...I call!" said Ghost with a nervous tone.
The dealer dealt the last card which made the River before calling out, "Ace of Spade!"
Mr. Carl laughed out now as he pointed out, "Is this what you are waiting for? Do you have a flush?"
Without waiting for Ghost, he said to the croupier, "I have around $2 million here! All-in!"
Turning to Ghost, he said, "Follow that, you c*cksucker!"
Ghost gulped and glanced down at his feet as if he had done something wrong. Worried, Callum called out from behind him, "It's ok. I've got plenty of money. Don't worry about it."
Suddenly, Ghost laughed, "Worry?"
Glancing back, he said, "You should have more confidence in me."
When Callum raised an eyebrow at him, Ghost turned to the croupier and said, "All-in!"
"Are you crazy? You are wasting your boyfriend's money! Seriously, you should stop bluffing when you could," said Mr. Carl. He had never seen such a wild player before and it made him slightly worried about the potential outcome.
"He can't possibly have a Royal Flush..." thought Mr. Carl as he looked at the cards that were facing down in front of Ghost.
The croupier counted out the chips and including the last bet, they had $ 5,870,000 in the pot. Once he was done, he called out, "Showdown!"
Mr. Carl threw his cards down before saying, "Four of a kind!"
When he saw the dejected look in Ghost's face, he laughed, "You dumb poof! It's bad enough that you get f*cked in the a*ss but now, you've f*cked up bad!"
As he reached out to get the chips, Ghost raised his head and said with a smile, "Not so fast, Mr. Carl..."
"What?"
Holding his cards up without revealing them, Ghost said, "I think you might've forgotten here. Four of a kind is not the strongest suit."
Mr. Carl narrowed his eyes at Ghost.
Flipping his cards over, Ghost threw them down on the table. As Mr. Carl stared at the "Queen and King of Spades", Ghost stood up and said smugly, "Royal Flush!"
When Mr. Carl stared back at him, Ghost said, "Greed is bad for your health, Mr. Carl. Your worst mistake was to think that you know me."
Callum clapped his hands as he walked towards the table with a huge smile on his face. Looking at the croupier, he said, "Count the money for Mr. Luo and issue a cheque for him."
