As Mr. Carl slumped on the floor crying over the amount that he lost in one afternoon, Head Manager Wing walked towards him. He tutted as he watched the pathetic sight of the man, "Mr. Carl, you're lucky that it's only money..."
Looking up at Head Manager Wing, Mr. Carl asked annoyingly, "What?"
He had lost a considerable amount of money at the earlier game. Even though, in reality, he only lost the $1,000,000 buy-in money, but it still hurt when he thought about the loss of profit. Before the last game, he had more than doubled up the initial buy-in amount.
Just thinking about the loss made him seethed with anger.
Head Manager Wing glanced down at the man before asking, "That man who was sitting at the couch earlier...Do you have any idea who he was?"
"No. Who the f*ck is he?"
Head Manager Wing sighed at the man's ignorance before informing him, "He is Shenlong Xun...Heir to the Imperial Casino...The young master of the Shenlong Family..."
Mr. Carl gasped, "What!"
His hands shook as he thought about what he said to Ghost earlier. He knew that he had forfeited his life when he first insulted the heir's lover. Everyone knew how brutal the Shenlong Family could be when they wanted to.
"And, Mr. Carl...Unfortunately, due to your behavior earlier towards our highly esteemed guests, we have to inform you that from here onwards, you would no longer be welcome at the Imperial Casino," said Head Manager Wing before he nodded at the guards who were standing near them.
The guards each carried one of his arms and hoisted the man up. Mr. Carl was screaming at the injustice but Head Manager Wing warned him, "You should have learned how to control that temper of yours, Mr. Carl. Count yourself lucky that you are only banned from The Imperial Casino. People had lost their lives for a lesser offense."
....
As they walked to their car, Callum wrapped his arm around Ghost's shoulders. After what went on earlier, he was in a cheery mood.
"F*ck! My wife won me more than $5 million dollars! I can't believe it! You are such a lucky guy!" said Callum before he playfully kissed the top of Ghost's head.
"It's poker. Luck plays a small role, and who said the money is yours? I'm the one who did all the work," asked Ghost irritably. He raised a brow at Callum as if daring him to do that again.
Callum grinned as he raised his hands up, "Ok, fine. You can have it. I'm sure my wife takes care of money better than I do."
"Stop calling me your wife!" growled Ghost as he glared at Callum. People were staring at the two of them so he pushed Callum away from him before quickly getting into the car. However, he got it wrong.
The reason why people were staring at him and Callum was because of their dashingly handsome good looks. Even though people who visited Imperial Casino tended to dress to the nines, the two of them still stood out among the others.
With their toned bodies, chiseled faces, and the fact that both of them were standing at over 185 cm, they looked more like models than the average Joe.
When Callum was driving, Ghost leaned back against the seat with his eyes closed. By the time he opened them, half an hour had passed by.
"Did you dream about me in your sleep?" teased Callum as he took a quick glance at Ghost.
Ghost ignored him. Looking out the side window, he noticed that they were in an upper-class housing area that seemed familiar. He then looked at Callum before asking, "I thought we are going for dinner...Where is this place?"
"Oh. Didn't I tell you? We are going back to my house for dinner."
Upon hearing that, Ghost pulled the handbrake immediately causing the car to skid before stopping. The sudden stop caused both of them to jerk forward and it also caused Ghost to bump his head on the dashboard.
"Hey! That's dangerous! Don't ever do that again!" snapped Callum as he looked at Ghost angrily. Luckily there were no cars nearby them or they would have caused a major accident!
However, Ghost ignored his scolding as if he had done nothing wrong. Before he pulled the handbrake, he had taken a quick look and knew that there were no cars near them. Feeling indignant, he turned to glare at Callum.
Callum's anger was only temporary and when he saw Ghost with the red bump, he felt sorry for him. Reaching out with a hand, he gently rubbed Ghost's bump before scolding him softly, "You idiot! What if you get badly injured!"
As he winced from the pain, Ghost snapped, "Why didn't you tell me earlier!"
If he had not asked about it, he would only know it when they were already in the compound of the Du Mansion!
"Cause you might say no..." answered Callum sheepishly as he glanced away.
Ghost slapped Callum's hand away before saying gruffly, "I'm not going to have dinner at your place! No! Bring me home now!"
"Come on! My sis-in-law asked you to join us. Besides, her mother cooks a lot for dinner tonight because I told her that you are coming. Please don't make me feel bad..."
"Daisy asked for it?" thought Ghost as he narrowed his eyes at Callum as if he was trying to decide whether or not he was telling the truth. If it was not because of what happened, he would have planned a secret meetup sooner.
He knew that in order to protect her, DX had secretly increased the guards who were following her around. It made it harder for them to meet.
If Callum was telling the truth, and that Kai Xin asked for it, then it meant that she was trying to reveal their relationship.
With a sigh, Ghost thought wryly, "Idiot...He already knew..."
"Please, Guang Ying...Even if it's not for my sis-in-law, please come for her mother. That poor old woman probably slaved in the kitchen just to create a feast for you," said Callum with a sad exaggerated pout.
Ghost stared at him and thought that he looked stupid, but it worked. He could not bear to say no, especially when he knew that An Qi Yan prepared the dinner.
