Chapter 388 - How am I supposed to believe you?

Callum and Shenlong Yuan leaned against the BMW that they came with while their grandfather sat on a single seater couch that a servant from the Su Family brought over upon Old Master Shenlong's threat.

"Aren't you comfy, seating on my chair…" said Old Master Su as he glared at his old nemesis in disgust.

Back when they were younger and the law was easier to manipulate, these two used to fight almost every month.

However, as they got older, they reeled back a little and spent most of their time growing their business, both legal and illegal.

Old Master Shenlong snarled, "Comfy? The floor in my house is more comfortable than this sh*t."

"Enough!" snapped Old Master Su. He glared at his servant and snarled, "Burn that sh*t later. I don't want it back in my house!"

"Yes, sir," said the poor servant weakly. The pay was great but working for underground gang meant that his life was constantly in danger.

When Old Master Su was still a single young man, rumors had it that he would execute people just for the smallest crime.

He snapped his fingers and another one of his servants brought a similar couch over. Except that this one had the emblem of the Su Family on it. It was also taller than the couch Old Master Shenlong sat on.

Once he was seated opposite Old Master Shenlong, he crossed his legs and asked, "What are you doing here in the middle of the night? I don't recall our relationship has reached that level."

Callum wanted to say something but Han Ye covered his mouth while Shenlong Yuan placed his hand on his cousin's chest to stop him from moving forward. He glared at them but they refused to budge.

While he looked at Old Master Su, Old Master Shenlong said, "I want an explanation."

"What explanation?"

"Why did you sent someone to hurt my granddaughter-in-law? According to the agreement between our wives, we'll cease fights until the end of our lives. Are you treating me as a joke now?!" snapped Old Master Shenlong as he narrowed his eyes at his old nemesis.

Callum frowned and turned to his cousin before he mouthed, "Granddaughter-in-law?"

Shenlong Yuan shrugged and whispered, "Desperate time requires desperate measures."

When Old Master Du was about to say something, Old Master Shenlong stood up and snapped at him, "Did you know that she's pregnant with my great-grandchild?!"

When they heard him, both Han Ye and Callum dropped their jaws. They then glanced at Shenlong Yuan as they whispered, "What?!"

Shenlong Yuan merely shrugged and said nothing as he looked at the exchange between the two old men.

Having grown up within the Shenlong Family, he was used to the shenanigans between the two.

Before his grandmother passed away, in order to protect their children, she and the wife of Old Master Su signed an agreement that would ensure the safety of both families.

Since the two old men were afraid of their respective wives, they could only accept the agreement. However, that did not stop them from childish fights. The last time was Old Master Shenlong intercepted a drug trade between the Su Family and a drug lord in Spain.

The men from Shenlong Family stole $50 million worth of drugs and even though Old Master Su knew that it was them, he did not have any proof. In retaliation, he exposed a spy that Old Master Shenlong placed in an Italian Mafia house.

To protect the spy, Old Master Shenlong had to pay over $20 million to get the spy out of Italy safely.

He felt that the two were too free lately.

Old Master Su glanced at his son before turning back to Old Master Shenlong. He then said in a confused tone, "What are you talking about? I didn't order an attack on your family… This week…"

"Your beloved daughter! Su Yan Xi! That evil woman. Luckily, I didn't push forward with the alliance with your family. Otherwise, my grandson would have been that brat Luo Yin!" said Old Master Shenlong with a hint of disgust.

The Shenlong Family hated those who hurt the fairer s*x the most. Anyone who was caught hurting women or children would be severely punished by their own laws.

More than 30 years ago, Old Master Shenlong and Old Master Su had discussed the possibility of a merge by pushing their children together.

At that time, the only son available was Callum's father, Shenlong Yan Huang. However, before they could do anything, Callum's father escaped overseas and married his mother.

Since the marriage was legal and she was pregnant, Old Master Shenlong could not do anything else. In the end, Old Master Su decided to let his daughter marry the man she wanted, Luo Han.

Even though Old Master Su knew the truth, he could not just sit still while someone insulted his family. He stood up and snapped, "Hey! That's my daughter and grandson that you're talking about!"

He then sat back down and said, "You said that my daughter kidnapped your granddaughter-in-law, but do you even have any proof of it?! You can't just come to my house and demand me to hand her over!"

Old Master Shenlong stepped towards him as he said, "Screw it! Do you think that I'm so free to come here and accused you of that? Are you going to hand her over or not?!"

The men standing behind Old Master Su cocked their guns. At the same time, the men standing behind Old Master Shenlong did the same. Both sides had their guns pointed at the old men.

Some of the men from the Shenlong Family stood in front of Callum and Shenlong Yuan to shield them from any potential danger.

Similarly, the men from the Su Family stood in front of Su Wei Yan.

It was the normal protocol in their world. The heirs must be protected at all cost.

All of a sudden, Su Wei Yan said, "Old Master Shenlong."

Usually, as a matter of respect, when the two old men were talking, no one would interrupt them. However, Su Wei Yan was now the leader of the Su Family, and thus, he had the right to voice his opinion.

When both the old men looked at him, he said, "Old Master Shenlong, to be honest, my father and I know nothing about what my elder sister did. I think it would help us clear the matter faster if you could tell us everything right from the beginning."

"Please allow me to explain it to you."

This time, it was Shenlong Yuan who spoke up. He bowed a little at Old Master Su and Su Wei Yan before he began to explain the entire matter to them. He started from when the kidnapping began until the point when their cars were stopped by the unknown men.

Once he was done, Old Master Shenlong spat, "See what your good daughter did!"

Old Master Su frowned. He thought for a moment before saying honestly, "I've no idea that she did that."

He then turned to his son and asked, "Do you know anything about it?"

Su Wei Yan shook his head. He thought for a moment before saying, "I'll be back shortly. Let me call our Russian team."

While he stepped away, Old Master Shenlong and Old Master Su glared at each other without talking to each other.

5 minutes later, Su Wei Yan returned and he bowed respectfully at the two elders before saying, "I talked to our people from Russia. They are going to send over all the information of everyone that my sister brought over. However, they do not know how to contact them as the team had reported back that Yan Xi took away their phones. I'll send it to you once I received the information."

Feeling impatient, Callum blurted out, "What about Su Yan Xi?"

Old Master Su frowned and asked, "Who is this rude boy?"

"What rude boy? This is my youngest grandson, Shenlong Xun," growled Old Master Shenlong. He was the only one who could insult his grandsons. He would not allow anyone, especially anyone from the Su Family, to talk down to his grandsons.

Old Master Su smirked, "He looks like a wimp. Are you sure you're going to leave your empire to him?"

"Hey!" Callum growled. He had enough of them. Here he was worrying about Ghost but they still moved so slowly.

"Be respectful!" hissed Shenlong Yuan as he warned his cousin.

Having raised outside of the Shenlong Family, Callum was never subjected to the proper etiquette of being in the underground world. Instead, he was taught by the Du Family how to be assertive and how to put his feet down.

Old Master Shenlong snorted, "Please. If your wimpy son can be the leader of the family, so can my grandson."

Su Wei Yan sighed but he did not say anything. He was used to the banter between his father and Old Master Shenlong.

Old Master Su glared at his son and snapped, "Say something! How can you just stand there and let him insult you?!"

However, instead of getting riled up, Su Wei Yan focused on the main issue on hand. With a respective tone, he said, "Old Master Shenlong, Young Master Xun. I'm sorry but we really have no idea where my sister went. When Luo Yin was taken away by the police, she contacted us but my father was clear about not being involved with the matter. Even though Luo Yin is part of our family, but what he did was against our code…"

He paused for a second before he turned to look at Callum to say, "I'm sorry for what my sister did, but I can reassure you that we have no idea where she is at the moment. We are also unaware of anything that she did."

Callum glared at him as he said gruffly, "How am I supposed to trust you?"
